Thanks for your post.
As far as I know SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 support TFS 2010. I think that document has not been updated after SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 released.

This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3. For this issue, Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this defect. But there's workarounds for this issue. Please refer to the link below:

BPC 7.5 SP4 Support for Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2
The release notes for BPC 7.5M SP04 state that support has been added for both Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2.
For SQL 2008 R2, there is nothing in the feature pack described as "SQL 2005 Backward Compatibility Components" - which was a required piece for BPC 7/7.5 on SQL 2008. Is the SQL 2008 version still a requirement, or does BPC 7.5 now not need the Backward Compatibility components?
Also, the ReprotViewer executable that is packaged with BPC 7.5 is the one for SQL 2008- will that work when installing SQL 2008 R2?
thanks,
Tony DeStefanis
Column5 ConsultingHi,
we have the same environment (BPC 7.5 SP4 on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit and SQL Server 2008 R2 64bit).
we are developping our application-set and for the moment we have no problem.

SQL Server setup is trying to find the SQLSysClrTypes_Cpu64 MSI package on the C:\Windows\Installer\257f1f.msi path. I
found the following line on the file you submitted:
Package SQLSysClrTypes_Cpu64: - The path of cached MSI package is: C:\Windows\Installer\257f1f.msi
Try copying the MSI from a SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM media and name it 257f1f.msi or use the FindSQLInstalls.vbs script on the following article to copy the file for you. Put the SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM media on the same place where it was when you installed the
instance before running the script.

Where is the management Studio for SQL 2008 Express?
Can anyone point me to where I can download the management studio for SQL 2008 Express.
I've downloaded and installed SQL 2008 Express without problem but can't find the management studio.
Help.Paradox1 said:
The 2008 version of the Management Studio is not a stand alone installation and can only be installed as part of the SQL Server 2008 Express with Tools or Advanced installation.
Like many others, I spent countless hours trying to figure out how to install the Management Studio for SQL Server 2008 Express - Advanced installation (same should apply to the w/ Tools version). What happened in my case was that I installed Visual Studio 2008 Express and during that process a stripped down "Instance" of SQL Server 2008 was installed that did not include the Management Studio. Through much pain and torture I learned that the Management Studio can only be installed during installation of the first instance. To delete that first instance, you must go to "Add or Remove Programs" and remove "Microsoft SQL Server 2008". The removal process will only remove one instance at a time and if you have installed more than one instance you need to keep going until all instances have been removed and the application completely disappears from the Add or Remove Programs" dialog. Note: You do not need to uninstall any of the other SQL Server 2008 applications that also appear in the "Add or Remove Programs" dialog. Then go back through the install process as follows: Double click on SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe to load the SQL Server Installation Center and then go to Installation > New SQL Server stand-alone installation. Then proceed through all of the installation steps until you get to “Feature Selection” and click on “Select All” to toggle on all of the Shared Features, which should include Management Tools - Basic.Continue the process from there and you should be good to go. Hopefully this will help others to avoid much of the pain that many of us have already experienced. -

Hi,
Why dont you move SQL server user data file and log file from C drive to other drives this will create space. It would require a SQL Server restart

Hi Gurus,
I searched in SAP Marketplace and saw that the JDBC adapter 1.2 posted there is for SQL 2005 server only. May I know where I can download a JDBC 1.2 adapter for the 2008 SQL server? I'm working with XI 7.0.
Thanks all.

SAPenthusiastHello,
Check these notes:
Note 639702 - JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL Server
Note 1600699 - Microsoft jdbc driver 1.2 support
I think you can just use the JDBC 1.2 that appears for download in SQL Server 2005. Check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/aa937724 for example. The same driver is used to connect different DB versions.

Any known issues with SCOM 2007 R2 after upgrading to SP2 for SQL 2008 R2 ?
Are there any known or reported issues in SCOM 2007 R2 after installing SP2 for SQL server 2008 R2 ? Currently running RTM version of SQL Server 2008 R2.
Hi There,
As a testing purpose long time back i did this. I did this step by step
I installed SCOM 2007R2 with SQL server 2008 with SP1 initially.
Then upgraded to 2008 SP2.
Then upgraded to 2008 SP3
Then upgraded to 2008 R2.
Then upgraded to 2008 R2 SP1
Finally to SP2
I dint find any issue.
I just kept on adding service packs upon each other. Except for upgradation to 2008 to 2008 r2 i used the installation media then the SP1 & SP2 files. to upgrade to service packs.
If you want to go to directly SP2 i would suggest you install SP1 and then install SP2.
Every thing is fine in the LAB equipment i tried this.

Support for SQL Server 2014 for CMS + Audit Repository?
We are currently on BusinessObjects 4.1 SP01 Patch 6 on Windows Server 2008 using SQL Server 2008 R2 for our CMS and Audit repository databases. Is there any information out in regard to when SQL Server 2014 will be supported for the CMS and Audit repositories?
According to the Product Availability Matrix shown in the screenshot below SQL Server 2012 is supported, right? One of our DBAs claims there isn't that much of a difference between SQL Server 2012 and 2014, but I am not willing to try it if it isn't officially supported.

There are however discussions to be available in the next release.

It's working fine for me on Win7.
You may want to use the XP Compatibilty mode (standard in Win7) or "install/run as administrator".

I checked the metalink site and it looks that 2008 AMD64b is supported but not sure if this is for 10r2 or 11.
Is ora10gr2 supported on windows 2008?
What could be the installation problem? How could I address it?
Thanks a lot, TomThink It's not certified, but
for your installation issue look for Vista Certification and download Patch

This at least helps you with the installation
