TFTP 'configuration update' from 5508 WLC fails stating reason as '%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log'

Dear Experts,
I have two WLCs and other management devices as part of same subnet. I am able to upload ‘configs’ from all the devices on to my TFTP server. However when I am attempting to do the same from one of my WLC, it is failing consistently stating error message as:
‘%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log
Has anyone else too faced the same issue and how would we overcome this? Any specific debug that could help get more details on it?
Though the error message says, refer to log but still I don’t see anything that gets reflected in ‘Monitor logs’ which is related to ‘configuration file’ upload failure.
WLC code: 7.4.100.0

Just a soft reboot helped me solved the problem :). Still I am on 7.4 and facing no issues after this.
Apologies for coming too late to respond. Getting a down time window was not that easy and so was much delayed to try soft reload. I am still on 7.4 and facing no issue.
Glad that in your case it starting working all of a sudden. Could you please verify from 'show tech-support' to confirm if by chance your WLC had undergone any crash that could have caused the WLC to reload and thus accidently fixing the issue :)

AP unable to download the image from 5508 WLC

Hi,
I have a 5508 WLC connected to 2950 Switch and the LAP 1262 connected to the same default VLAN. My AP's are able to join the controller since they are in the same broadcast domain but They are NOT able to download the image from WLC. When I am looking at the wireless TAB of WLC.. it says... Downloading Image.
Can anyone pls. suggest what all needs to be done to make UP the APs. Also, Following is the error i am seeing at the AP.

hi amjad,i am working on the same controller and i upload the image to another AP and cponvert it to LAP. bot this is not registering on controller and behaves like first as first ap is registered and working fine. 2nd ap console output is given below

S8-50F update from factory build failed (Solution below)

We had received to S8-50F tablets that would not update 000143_140929_ROW_TO_SS000200_150121_ROW using OTA, the tables in this case both failed OTA updates at about 97% download stating that the file could not be downloaded, Retry? They would then cycle in this loop. After trying to clear cache and factory reset, support tould us that the tablets would need to be sent back in for a reflash (2 seperate calls), so we did some digging. From this site we nabbed the update http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/lenovo-tab-s8-50f-stock-firmware-rom-t2989791 This update file: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934519789 and placed that in the devices downloads folder. Then went to Settings > About Device > Update and clicked on the tool box, and chose the manual update method and selected the download file. This allowed the devices to update, and trying OTA for the next build S000164_141103_ROW_TO_S000185_141203_ROW went off with out a hitch. No idea why the OTA update for the first update failed, but now they both work. I should mention that this was after I tried the OTA updates, clearing cache and factory resetting the device, as well as trying the update throu Lenovo Smart Assistant all failed.

We also had similar kind of issue fortunately it was Training system. It was corrupt block in our case as per note 633914 (As Sunny suggested). We identified the corrupt table, truncated it and deallocated the space.. Run DBCHECK on the data file just to check if the corruption exists.

ISE 1.2 rejects RADIUS messages from 5508 WLC

The setup in ref is:
WLC 5508 HA pair running 7.6 talking to ISE 1.2 patch 7 (was 6).
Wireless users are authenticated fine, so the 5508 is a valid NAD in ISE, but...
When I setup active RADIUS fallback, so that the WLC can poll the ISE servers I get the message:
"The RADIUS request from a non-wireless device was dropped because the installed license is for wireless devices only"
Why would ISE drop a RADIUS message from a WLC which is a wireless device? Surely this is a mistake?

This is a known defect.
CSCug34679 ISE drop keep alive coming from WLC.
Symptom:
ISE drops keep alive authentications coming from the WLC, with message 11054 Request from a non-wireless device due to installed wireless license.
Conditions:
When only a wireless license is install on the ISE and using active keep alive on the WLC.
Workaround:
Use passive keep alive on the WLC and not active.

Updating from 9.0.4 to 9.1 - Error!

So I have a Summer 2000 iMac G3, 500 MHZ, upgraded to 384 MB RAM. Wiped the whole HD, clean install of original OS9 disk. I want to upgrade to 9.1, so I downloaded the file from Apple. I see "Mac OS 9.1 Update.smi" on my desktop. When I go to open it, I get a red error box that says:
The application program "Mac OS 9.1
Update.smi" could not be opened,because
an error of type -39 occurred.
I have deleted and redownloaded several times, but no dice. Somebody want to help me out?

If the download file is probably just what it says, as an 'update' that usually means
the previous full OS 9 version would have to be installed first and running the Mac.
OS 9.1 is far superior to OS 9.0, and should be installed from a retail CD; for access
to the correct Disk Tools and other complete installation parts only found on that disc.
And OS 9.2.1 is overall a much better system for G3 Macs, than OS 9.1. {A download
update for 9.2.1 - to 9.2.2 gives it the file step. OS 9.2.1 is available as retail CD install.}
The CD was the main path to upgrade from Mac OS 8.6, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2. major steps.
Some older files have been made available online to update older OS systems.
You may have to re-install the iMac's OS 9.0 and then see if this update file works.
Or open the download file and turn it into a disc image; such as a CD would have.
Be on the lookout for two 512MB RAM sticks for that computer, and OS 9.2.1 CD.
And be sure before tempting the G3 iMac with any OS X install disc, you have the
correct Firmware Update installed in the computer, while it is running OS 9.1/9.2.
Hopefully you can make the transition update file work.

Update from Lightroom 4.2 to 4.3 "Publishing" did not transfer

After updating from Lightroom 4.2 to 4.3, none of the Publishing services such as Flickr were imported. How do I import Publishing information from 4.2 to 4.3? From a previous post, loading a current version of my catalog did fix other issues but did not fix this issue.

Double check your File>Plug-in Manager and make sure the Publishing Service for Flickr is enabled.

1131AG keeps disconnecting from 5508 wlc

We have about 20 APs in our network and about 4-5 are 1131AGs and the rest are 3500s. The 1131s disconnect from the controller for about 2 minutes (i guess it is rebooting) and then comes back up. This happens every 1-5 days. I have tried changing the power level and the channel. I am not sure why the 1131s keep disconnecting.

I checked the wireless tab on the WLC gui and the AP uptime resets back to 0. So it is probably rebooting/crashing.
I tried pulling up logs from both the APs and the WLC. The logs stop about 3 months before and then continues right when the AP comes back online (ex. Apr 14 was the last log then Jul 1 was when the AP reset and came back online and joined the controller).
Although there is a Jul 5th message:

Update from 3.1 beta3 to 3.1 - error 1002

Hi,
I have an iPhone ADC account, and my iPhone 3G 16Gb is unusable.
I was with the 3.1b3 until it expired but I can't upgrade to 3.1 (public stable) because the restoration ends with an error 1002.
I posted messages on Apple Dev forums and I submitted a Bug on the Apple Bug Report (id : 7220880) but still no help. Apparently, I'm not the only one with this problem !
As I was with the 3.1b3, I can't go back to 3.0.1 ...
I'm with iTunes 9.0.1. I tried with an other Mac with iTunes 8.2.1, it doesn't work either.
Now I have an iPhone in restore mode (DFU) and not usable.
If anybody has got an idea to solve this problem or know if a new firmware version (like 3.1.1) will be available soon and will resolve this problem, it would be great.

Updated from 3.6.8 will NOT open error 0xc0000056

The update began, I closed firefox. The restart window came up. I hit restart. I could see the HD was working for a significant time. No firefox opened. I used the shortcut icon to open firefox. I got the error message Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000056). Click OK to close application

OK, I've worked on a restore and have 3.6.8. The trouble bottom line is the Adobe flash-player plug-in update. I cannot see any video, youtube, for instance. Update required message. When I update, restart Firefox, it loads for approx 30 seconds, pages come up, then it exits, precipitously, with NO user intervention.
I can run 3.6.8 without problems if I run safe mode with no plug-ins. Then I add 1 @ a time and the Adobe 10.1 is the miscreant. I went to the Adobe site, did the Adobe uninstall, reinstalled the proper plug-in for Firefox, etc. I'm running Norton 360 (programs are allowed) I also took Spyware Dr off to see if there was a difference. There isn't.
I tried viewing youtube on Chrome (OK, sorry, but I was curious), works like a champ.
OK, any suggestions? There are 2 issues here.
1. The firefox will not update to 3.6.10
2. Adobe Flash player 10.1 will not update

Updating from 7.0 to 7.1 Backup error

I downloaded the 7.1 software via wifi successfully then went to install it and my phone currently reads "Overall Backup Progress: 11%" and "Social Feeds: 0%". I can't connect my phone to my PC either now. It just says 'Connecting' but never does.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to pause the update? Can you connect to BlackBerry® Desktop Software and reset the Social Feeds database?
If not, you may need to install the update as shown in KB10144.

Can't update from 6.0! XUL runner says, "Error: platform version 6.0 is not compatible with min version =6.0.2 max version =6.0.2.

Tearing hair out because there is also a request to check whether another copy of Firefox may be installed, and have hence uninstalled and deleted every reference to Mozilla and Firefox several times, and hence have lost all bookmarks, cookies etc. Have to accept the latter, but still can't load the latest version. The downloaded exe file just will not load successfully. Any advice would be gratefully recieved. [email protected]

Error in running baseline update from ATG

Hi,
I am trying to import the content in my ATG app schemas as indexed records into Endeca.
After making the configuration changes listed in the ATG-endeca integration guide , When I try to do baseline index from http://localhost:7003/dyn/admin/nucleus/atg/endeca/index/commerce/ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin/ , following is what I get :

To add to surprise after this , I am unable to perform the baseline update from Endeca also. I get following error while running baseline update on endeca side :

My endeca installation works absolutely fine.
When i install endeca with platform services,mdex and tools and framework , I can create the application,initialize, load baseline and baseline update my application beautifully, until I do the baseline index from ATG side.
Once I do that , I am unable to perform indexing from Endeca also.
What I need to do is reinstall the endeca(platform services for least) to resolve this - I have been doing this for quite some time now :(
My Endeca Workbench instance is up, running and reachable on port 8006.
The PlatformServices\workspace\logs\shell\ATGen.emgr_update_set_post_forge_dims.log has following one liner :

Microsoft Security Essentials not taking definition updates from WSUS Server.

Hi Experts,
I have a WSUS server installed on network on which MSE definition updates are installed, but the MSE on the client computer is not getting updates from it.
When I click the update button it gives me error "Virus and spyware definitions couldn't be updated".
The error code i am getting is 0x80244018. The definition updates couldn't be installed please try again later.
I also have TMG on my network as a default gateway, I want to update MSE from WSUS not from microsoft update.
Do I have to change rules....??? or any suggesstions that how MSE can be automatically updated from WSUS, the WSUS setting is saved into a GROUP Policy and applied....

The error code i am getting is 0x80244018.
This is an HTTP 403 error, which is generally (but not always) indicative of a proxy server interfering with the download. Assuming this is happening when the client is trying to get Definition Updates from Microsoft during the daily scan, this error will
likely go away once you properly set up WSUS to provide the definition updates.
I want to update MSE from WSUS not from microsoft update.
To do this, you need the following:
The Definition Updates classification must be configured for synchronization.
An Automatic Approval rule that approves the Definition Updates classification for the appropriate target group(s) must be configured and enabled.
The policy setting Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation must be ENABLED.
Your WSUS server should be configured to synchronize multiple times per day (at least 2).
Your clients should be configured with a shorter Detection Frequency (8 hours is ideal).
With the above configured, the clients will check the WSUS server 3x-4x per day, find the latest available Definition Update, download it and install it immediately.
Note, however, that if the client fails to download and install Definition Updates, MSE will continue to do a check, and attempt to update the Definition Updates during the daily scan. If your TMG blocks the client's Internet access, then they
will continue to log HTTP 403 errors when this definition update attempt is executed. (This is why you configure multiple syncs and scans per day -- so the client *never* has to go to Microsoft to get the current definition updates.)

Error while updating from front end

Hi,
I'am using oracle forms 6i to connect to a table and i'am trying to update from the frontend, but i get an error saying the following,
'Could not reserve record( 2 tries )...'
what is the reason, is it because the record is locked???
and if so is there any way to find out whether a record is locked without trying to update and find it out??? kindly reply as soon as possible...

Yes.. This message comes when the record that you are trying to update is opened for update by another application or explicitly locked by some other user. So, whenever you try to update the record, the standard practice is to lock the row.
If you are able to lock the row then you can update it.
Example :
CURSOR emp_cur(p_emp_id NUMBER)
SELECT *
FROM emp
WHERE emp_id = p_emp_id
FOR UPDATE OF emp_id NOWAIT;
l_emp_rec EMP_CUR%ROWTYPE;
When you open this cursor and fetch into a Record variable, it fetches the data if the record is not locked. Else it gives you NULL in record variable fields.
Use this if you are using a backend procedures to do operations on your record
