TFTP Firmware upload

Hi,
Our company have 2 Callmanager Clusters and it's quite hard to keep the phoneloads on both of them the same. The architecture of both clusters are the same:
12 Nodes:
1 Publisher
8 Subscriber (4 Active, 4Inactive)
and 3 TFTP Server -  all Nodes Callmanager Version: 8.6.2.23900-10
This times 2 makes 6 TFTP Servers in total. So if we want to upgrade a phoneload of only one phonetype we have to upload the file on 6 TFTP Servers. So here is my question, is it possible to synchronize the TFTP files between nodes? Or is there a "better"/faster way to upload files on TFTPs?
Cheers for your help.
Best regards,
Matthias

Hi,
you need to upload files on all TFTP servers. There is no such synchronisation of TFTP files between nodes.

This is the initial release. As of now, the firmware only gets uploaded to the devices the first time they are present. I will try to fix this soon and upload a new package. If you have a solution, please post it as a comment and I will update it!

    Any updates?
We have 2 iPads (one is a iPad 2 and the other iPad 1 32gb wi-fi's) and a MBA.
Everytime I get online with the MBA it slows down my wifes iPad2 to a crawl.
I just downgraded to 7.5.1 and it seemed to help some, but both iPads will drop from 20Mbps to 3-5Mbps if I use the MBA at the same time.
If you use both iPads at the same time which ever one you hit "restart test" on first will be the fastest. Each will run from 7-11Mbps.

  • Jabber-config.xml no longer UTF-8 after TFTP Server upload?

I have a good jabber-config.xml I edited in Notepad++ and saved (UTF-8) and I upload it to TFTP via CMPlatform on CCM 9.1.2.11900-12.  I've done this in the past a lot with 8.6.2, never had any issues.
    I then restart CUCM TFTP services and download;
    C:\>tftp 10.7.8.3 GET jabber-config.xml
    Transfer successful: 2390 bytes in 1 second(s), 2390 bytes/s
I then open up my downloaded jabber-config.xml in Notepad++ and it says the file format is UCS-2 Litle Indian and not UTF-8 and looks like the attached photo.  Greek.  I tried in Notepad++ to convert.
I then setup a different test PC with Windows XP, etc. Same issue, also note that plain notepad sees the same problem.   Why is the jabber-config.xml file getting corrupted by the TFTP server?

Are your clients also using systemd?
Yes I do have a firewall, iptables, and it's the same configuration from before the migration to systemd.  Also note that I can access the shares when explicitly defining the path whether that's in a File Manager, cli or other so access isn't being blocked.  For lack of a better explanation the whole thing gives the appearance that although the Share is active it's just not broadcasting it's existence like it should be.
I have two PC's, both Arch, one with Openbox and one running KDE that I have migrated to systemd.  Both can access the Share when the path is explicitly defined but don't see it when trying to just browse for the the Share.  I have a Xoom tablet, running Android Jelly Bean, that exhibits the same behavior.  I also have two media players, one an older WD LiveTV Plus model the other a newer WD LiveTV model, neither of which can see the share and browsing is the only option for those devices.  So I've got a pretty good assortment of devices and operating systems that could see the share when browsing previously but can not see the same share by browsing since the migration to systemd on the file server.
    Thank you.

  • WRT350N firmware upload killed my download speed.

I updated the firmware (v1.04.4) on my WRT350N (version 1) and checked my download over WIFI N.
Now I get 1MBs download and 1 MBs upload!!!!
If I plug in wired Iget 12+ MBs download and 2+ MBs upload.
If I plug my laptop directly into my Cable Modem I get 15+ MBs download and 3+ upload.
Whats going on - and whats the next step.
Oh and I checked my iPhone 4 and Im getting 0.4MBs download and 2MBs upload.  How crazy is that!
    Help Help!
    Gerry

i resolved the first part of my issue myself.
Updating the linksys firmware was what killed my speed.
The Latest Linksys firmware for my router, with factory default settings, is not compatible with the latest driver on my Intel wireless-N card in my laptop.
As I was not able to roll back my router frimware (even a restore factory settings doesnt do that) I had to roll back my laptop wireless card driver to a previous driver.
    The settings that do work
Linksys WRT350N V1.0 with firmware V104.4 and default settings
    Intel Wifi 4965AGN driver V11.1.1.22 8/8/2007
Note that I tried many different linksys settings, including channels, with both versions of the Intel driver, and the consistent , repeatable solution was to roll back the Intel wifi driver.
I will post my iphone issue as a new post.

  • Uninstalling firmware for WRT54GL

Hello, I sure hope someone can help!
I have been successfully using my Linksys router for about a week now using 3 computers all running Ubuntu linux with Firefox 3 browser.
Tonight for some reason, I thought I should update firmware. I did NOT get a warning not to do this unless I was having problems currently (read that after the fact in the user manual!).
Anyway, after updating the firmware per the instructions, I can no longer view the url http://192.168.1.1 to update or change my profile. I was able to go there for the past days and even today (that's how I updated the firmware!) but now suddenly when I sign onto that page using "admin" as password, all I get is a jumbled mess.
I can see the Linksys colors and the model of my router, but none of the drop down boxes work (or have anything in them). There are no longer clickable links on the page such as "administrator" or "wireless" etc. The page is useless to me and I have to be able to see and use it obviously.
Everything was fine until I updated the firmware, then it all messed up. Sure wish that message telling me NOT to update firmware would have been more obvious!
I am editing and inserting this paragraph to let you know I have also tried on a Windows computer using Mozilla browser and using Internet Explorer so now I am absolutely sure it is not a browser issue and is a firmware issue. Please help me get my router back the way it was. I see in the instructs that you can 'set to factory defaults' but since I can't access the page I can't do that either.
Please tell me how I can undo my update! What a mess...I have a product I can not use now!
    Thanks to all,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. Make sure you don't have any firewall or anti-virus running on your computer. Those are known to mess with the JavaScript in the web interface. Turn firewall and AV off even if it worked before with the old firmware version.
    2. To reset the router to factory defaults press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Check the lights to make sure that it does actually reset.
    3. Make sure you want to upload the correct firmware file compatible with your router. Router models have different hardware versions and not all firmware versions for a model are compatible with all hardware versions. Which firmware file did you upload?
    4. If this all does not work you may have to reflash the firmware again. Sometimes it does not properly flash. Follow the instructions here. The article is for a blinking power light situation but the tftp firmware upload described should still work for you, too. Flash the same firmware file again.

  • Where can I download the Linksys TFTP.exe utility?

Hello everyone, I am trying to upgrade this router I've got and was wondering if anyone knew where to get the Linksys TFTP.exe utility.  Apparently Linksys have decided to re-organize their public FTP and the file is no longer anywhere to be found.  I have been linked to ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/tftp.exe but I get a "550 Failed to Change Directory" error message.  I've browsed through all of the directories on the public FTP and am at a loss.  Can anyone help?  Thanks a million.

  • WRT54GL Web Interface Broken - Failed Firmware Update - Router Works

I have a WRT54GL v1.1 router. I tried to update the firmware, using what I thought was the newer firmware, apparently somewhere I mislicked and didn't get what I thought I was getting. It succeeded, but now the web admin interface is totally broken. It loads, but there are no link or text, I can seem some form fields with some data, but mostly it's like seeing the page with NO content or navigation (though I can see the layout correctly). This means I can't change any of the router settings.
My internet still works. Wireless works (I just have no way to secure it now). I have tried to usu TFTP to upload the correct drivers from this web site. It says "Cannot Connect to Server" or something like that when it tries. I have pinged the router and it works. I have tried to assign a static IP (192.168.1.100) and then have TFTP start as soon as I see my continuos ping start to get a result. It still says the same "Cannot Connect" type of message.
I have also tried to see if the router has some kind of "Management Mode" by holding the rest button, unplugging the router, plugging it back in, waiting 10 seconds and releasing then waiting a minute and going to 192.168.1.1 and it looks like the same exact broken web interface I normally get. It doesn't appear to go to a "Management Mode."
The power light is not blinking.
    Help!

What was the procedure you followed to upgrade/re-flash the firmware through TFTP?
As TFTP firmware upgrade was failed follow the below mentioned steps.
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned.  By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading.  A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • RV320 Firmware Upgrade Fail

I am trying to follow the directions on the release notes for Flashing PWR light and solid DIAG light (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/routers/csbr/rv320/release_notes/rv32x_relnote_v1_1_1_19.pdf ).
I am getting Timeout occurred and connect request failed when I try to put the bin file onto the router using the tftp comd line.  windows 8.1 PC connected to Router RV320 in LAN 1.  PC set to static IP as mentioned in notes.  What am I doing wrong / how can I get the router up and running?
    HELP!

So after much searching I did find something which worked so I will share for the next one:
I opened two separate cmd prompts with admin access. Change directories to where the bin file is saved or save the bin file to the Windows\System32 file
In first cmd window typed PING -t 192.168.1.1 but did not press enter
In second cmd window typed tftp -i 192.1698.1.1 PUT RV32X_FW_v1.1.1.19.bin but did not press enter
Pressed enter on first window, then rapidly pressed enter on second window
Firmware uploaded to device on first try (though the site I found this on said it could take a few tries) - took about 10 seconds, router rebooted and I am now configuring it.  Let's hope after all this it actually does something for me!
    Moving on!

  • SPA9000 Firmware Fiasco

Hi Guys. I have a SPA9000 Hardware V 1.05, Firmware 3.3.6 went through the whole 1.05 vs. 2.0 Linksys Fiasco, and after a few hours figured out that I need the 9000t firmware. The problem, is no matter how I do the upgrade, it doesn't work. I tired the 5.1.7, 5.1.8, 5.1.9 Firmware, I tried using the wizard, the .exe loader, and even tftp to upload the Firmware but it just doesn't work. The wizard connects, tells me it sees the SPA9000, Firmware 3.3.6, and then tries for about 15 seconds, and then comes back and says "Failed to Upgrade. Check your network connection or device type." The .exe Firmware loader says"Upgrade Failed: No response from SPA" The TFTP loads, does not error, but the result is no firmware change. Using http:///admin/upgrade?tftp:///spa9000-5-1-9.bin When I try loading the Ver 1 Non-T firmware, I get a incompatible device error, so I have pretty much ruled out Rev 1 Firmware. So my question is ? Is there some order path of firmware upgrades? Do I have to load 5.1.0 First ? Before I can load 5.1.9 ? Any ideas here ?

    Finally Got it working. woo-hoo.
I was about to give up.
Many Thanks to sardnyx27 and dkaufman
    Funny thing is....
    - Tried plugging host computer into the SPA9000 - Didn't work
    - Turned off XP Firewall and Kaspersky - Didn't work
    - Tried 5.1.7, 5.1.8, 5.1.9 with .exe loader - Didn't work
    - Tried loading firmware through wizard - Didn't work
    - Unplugged the SPA400 from the netgear FS108P switch the SPA9000 was plugged in - Suddenly the .exe loader worked. I don't know what one has to do with the other? Just weird. The only thing I will say is the SPA400 was updated to the latest Firmware BEFORE I tried updating the SPA9000. Did this have anything to do with it? Dunno.
I hope this will help someone else who is having the same problems.
    Thanks for the help guys.

  • E70 Firmware Upgrade Process improvements

I'm currently on the road, using my E70 via bluetooth to get online with an unlimited Cingular data plan. I downloaded the 15mb Nokia Software Updater, but much to my dissatisfaction, the upgrader cannot do anything if I have an active internet connection through the E70.
With the connection open, the updater will forever try to identify my phone, but never succeed.
Once I close the connection, it will identify the phone, but without an internet connection will be unable to download the update and fail. (Retrying this process starts at the beginning identification phase, not just retrying the internet connection, so I could not just reconnect to the internet after it identified the phone).
Needless to say, I found myself an internet cafe in Jackson, MS and was able to do the download. The connection between the E70 and the update utility remained open throughout the process of downloading the 50mb(!) firmware. If this process was seperated into three distinct modular steps, it could allow for more flexible upgrading:
    1) (Offline) Phone identification.
    2) (Online) Firmware check and new version download (no active USB connection to phone required)
    3) (Offline) Firmware uploading to the phone (with confirmation that the phone hasn't changed since the initial identification.
If each of these steps was presented somewhat seperately ("next" button? List of steps, etc...) one could download firmware not Over-The-Air directly, but without needed a seperate connection to the internet other than the phone. I considered using my 3650 to connect to Cingular while I did this upgrade on the E70, but the slowness of GPRS vs. EDGE stings pretty hard. Especially when considering a 50mb download (good thing I didn't try it!)
    Comments?
    Nokia History: E70 (2006); 6820 (2005); 3650 (2004); 3595 (2004)

Additional request for the update process. When I ran the updater for the first time (online), the in-web-page flash installer just sits with the progress bar at about 10% and hangs indefinitely.
I decompiled the swf and figured out what their dumb app was doing. As suspected, its a lame veneer over some overcomplicated logic that at the end of the day just downloads an EXE. And the logic to construct that path is broken. Groan. So, I got the exe myself and ran it, it downloaded the whole 50MB and installed it, trashing all my preferences (of which teh backup utility only saves some of them - thanks for that Nokia). Then it re-installed exactly the same firmware I already had.
You really do have some class 1 software engineers working on this stuff !!! You should all feel proud of the amazingly good job you are doing and sleep well at night knowing you are good at your jobs and are improving your customer experience with every new change that you make. Thank goodness its only the crippling lameness that is even worse at msft that avoids you being put completely out of business.

  • RV120W SIP over VPN and 1.0.2.6 Firmware

Upgraded to 1.0.2.6 and all of a sudden SIP devices working over the VPN no longer work. Downgrade to 1.0.1.3 and they work again. Any ideas? My guess is that some ports are blocked over the VPN in 1.0.2.6
I thought the general idea was that firmware ugrades fixed bugs rather than introducing them.
Suggestion for Cisco:- Zip the firmware image downloads, or else have an upgrade process that includes a CRC check, that way at least the poor punter will have an indication if they have been corrupted. I had a subtle memory problem that was corrupting some files. The firmware upload appeared to complete properly and you could log on OK but some of the menu choices resulted in a hang with the "Please wait... the page is being loaded" message. Careful checking of file sizes revealed that the file I was uploading into the router was a few hundred bytes different in size to the one on the website, must have been corrupted during the download. But the upload proceeded normally with no indication of any error. It's a pretty basic safeguard that should be in there as a matter of course with the router performing a CRC check and showing an error if it fails.

    Hello Michael,
Might be you have SIP Application Layer Gateway enabled. Please try to disable this the SIP over the VPN works fine.
Firewall-->Advanced Settings-->SIP ALG remove the check box.

  • Viewing/uploading customized WebAuth pages

    Howdy,
I've got a 5508 running 7.6.100 acting as an anchor in a remote location. It is using customized WebAuth pages but I'm needing to verify the actual html content of those pages as they are in use today. Downloading a new WebAuth bundle is easy, and I know I can preview the WebAuth login page, and I've got the pages that 'should' have been downloaded to the controller- I need to see what's there now. Alas, because of my location, I can't simply toss a client on the WLAN to examine the pages either.
Before having to overwrite the existing pages, does anyone have a way to upload or view customized pages on the WLC?

AHA! CLI and Google-fu remain my best friends.
Although the GUI in this version does not allow UPloading WebAuth bundles from the WLC, you can do it from the CLI, you just need the commands....
Fire up your TFTP server (you could use FTP), and set the transfer commands using CLI on the WLC
      TRANSFER UPLOAD MODE tftp
      TRANSFER UPLOAD DATATYPE WEBAUTHBUNDLE
      TRANSFER UPLOAD SERVERIP tftp-server-address
      TRANSFER UPLOAD FILENAME destination-filename
      TRANSFER UPLOAD START
Check your settings and click 'y' to start
Viola, a copy of the current WebAuth bundle! Unzip the bundle and you can see the current web pages used.

  • SPA1001 Firmware of Death

For the past few months I have been happy with the SPA1001 on the Gizmo network. Over the past few days I had a problem receiving/making calls. I decided to upgrade the firmware from 2.x (?) to the latest spa1001-3.1.19SE. When I launched the firmware file and pointed at the IP of the SPA1001 it detected it and proceeded to load the firmware... and load... and load... and load. After about 20 minutes I was worried since it was <1MB file. I tried to attach to the web interface to see if it completed, but that did not load. I could still ping the device, but no other communication was possible. If I picked up my analog line all I hear is dead air.
The firmware upload finally failed, and I was forced to power cycle the SPA1001. On reboot I could ping the device, but once again no web interface, and I am unable to connect to reattempt the firmware update.
So is the SPA1001 dead due to firmware load? What are my options? I sent an email to [email protected], but that was last week sometime. I have not heard anything as of yet. I hate to think I have a $60 paper weight on my desk due to a firmware issue.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
the nxt brick is connected and recognized by lab view(2012 version), when trying to donwload the Firmware "LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Firmware V.1.31"
when trying to download the firmware the progress starts loads and the brick starts to tick (tic tic tic tic...) for ever until i stop the ticking with the nxt program.
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi danikipod23,
Where did you get the version of the firmware you're loading to the brick?
The ticking means that the brick is in firmware upload mode. If it just keeps ticking, without successfully loading the firmware, I've found two other forum posts that address this issue. Essentially, you'll need to do a full reset of your brick and make sure you're in firmware upload mode before trying to update the firmware again.
    I hope this helps!
