Thai font being squeezed together on Publishing

I am experiencing strange behaviour when publishing Thai
font. It seems to be being squeezed together to the point that it
overlaps. Is there a fix out there for this issue or has anyone
else experienced such an issue on bibit fonts?

this highly depends on some factors. First off, did you
enable support for alternative languages in windows?
Secondly, if so, did you install the correct fonts? This
usually causes the difference between published and unpublished
fonts. Apart from that, have you tried to turn off anti-aliasing
when publishing? It is a setting in the quiz general preferences.
If those options don't work, I don't know what
will.....

  • Problem in displaying Thai fonts after migrating from Reports 2.5 to 6i

    Hi,
We have recently migrated our reports from Reports 2.5 to 6i.
When we were using Reports 2.5, we could display The Thai Fonts correctly, but after migrating to 6i, the data retrieved from database is being displayed as junk characters.
In Reports 2.5 we had set a registry variable ORA_CHARSET_CONVERSION to NO_CHARSET_CONVERSION. We were using NLS_LANG as AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8IS08859P1 in 2.5.
If we change WE8IS08859P1 to US7ASCII for Reports 6i, the data retrieved from database is being displayed correctly in Thai fonts, but the labels become junk characters.
Do we need to do any special setup in 6i?
    Nigam.

    Hi All,
Whilst doing the migration (and god knows how long this will take) I need to document the log file of all functions and changes made. The manual states that there is a PLG file created however, I can't seem to find it. I'm running the conversion one by one and not in batch mode. Can someone help me locating the PLG log file.
    Thanks

  • Answers pushed together when Published

    Hi All,
Thanks in advance if anyone can assist me. I am working in Captivate 5.5.
When I publish my quiz only on 2 slides does it show the text in the multiple choice answers being pushed together.
In the program it looks fine, but only when I publish does it go wrong.
It's as if the 2 lines of text are on top of one another, in the published version.
My work around was to go to that slide and push the sentences together manually. Basically just select answer A and move the entire line over answer B so that they are basically on top of one another.
When I published it looked fine! So in order to have my answers spaced out in the published version, I had to make my slide crowded while I was putting it together.
So it's kind of backwards. Also, out of the 26 slides it only happened to 2 of them. One was very crowded with text, but the other wasn't so thinking there was just too much copy on the slide didn't help.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks so much!!!
    Heather

    Hi there,
    Thanks for your response.
I am working in Windows 7 Professional.
I tried publishing to .EXE as well as a .SWF file and it had the same result.
Here is what it looks like before publishing:
    And this is after publishing:
It is all pushed together. I literally have to make my slide look like the above in order for it to look normal published.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

Being new to iBook publishing I need to know if stats are available to determine how many times my iBook has been downloaded. Can anyone help please? I need to persuade someone that this really is worthwhile. Mr Ignorant.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

  • How can I see the exact font being used for rendering ?

When I use firebug to watch the style of any object, I see the CSS input. For the textarea I'm writing this text into, for instance, it displays "13px/1.231 Georgia, freeserif, serif".
What I want to see is the result of the rendering process, in other words the output of the rendering engine, which is not only dependent on the styles defined with the web page displayed, but also depends on the system fonts being installed, my settings in about:config and something more:
I just pressed ctrl-+ what increased the displayed font size, but the element style displayed remains the same as above. I want to look elsewhere to see an increased font size in this event. Where do I have to go ?

The rendering speed is entirely limited by the CPU's speed and the software's ability to utilize the processor's capabilities. If you need faster rendering speed then you simply need a faster computer or better rendering software.

  • Does iBooks author and iBooks support thai fonts?

I ,live in Thailand, want to create books by using iBook author but from what i've know iBook only support one font for THAI language, is it true or not.
Also does iBooks author support modifed thai font from the internet?
Last one, can I use .ibooks for limited usage not for public?
    Thank you for your answer

The iPad only has one Thai font, Thonburi, and you cannot embed other fonts using iBook Author.  Here is some info about using other apps

You don't need to copy the cert out of your configuration. OpenSSL has an "s_client" subcommand which can open an SSL connection and verify the cert for you. It even knows how to do STARTTLS. Something like this ought to do it:
openssl s_client -starttls smtp -CAfile /path/to/ca/file -connect your.ironport:25
The /path/to/ca/file is necessary to provide openssl with a cache of root CA certs. You could use -CApath instead of -CAfile if you have a hashed directory of root CA certs instead of a single file containing them all.
You can also point this at your partner's SMTP server as well.

  • Thai fonts in FM8

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem? I created a manual in Thai (BrowalliaUPC font) in FM7. When I open it in FM8, it turns to gibberish, no matter what Thai font I use. Does FM8 not support Thai fonts? I no longer have FM7 on my computer, and need to update this manual.

Without having used Thai fonts, I think:
When you moved to FM 8, you also moved to a Unicode environment; the documents you created in 7 were not Unicode, so the manner in which you insert characters probably changed. I recall seeing other problems with people who had to switch environments, but I'm unsure if there's an easy solution.
Based on Microsoft's www site for BrowalliaUPC, it also looks as if there are two versions of the font in the field, and they seem to have different levels of Unicode support. If you're using the 2.2 version of the font, you may want to get the version 5 shipped with Vista and 7 to get the expanded support.
To see if there's also something going on with the operating system / environment, I'd suggest creating a new FM 8 fle and seeing if you can insert content with the Thai font... or if that's also twisted.

  • How to make my iPOD display thai fonts for thai songs?

    Hi,
I'm Thai customer bought ipod nano from authorized dealer and I wonder why my iPOD cannot display thai fonts in music play list. How to solve this problem?

Thank you for your advice. I just take a look and
didn't see Thai language in my iPOD -*- hope to see
some update to solve this problem from iPOD
    asia/thailand
The language capabilities of the iPod are clearly stated in the tech specs for the product:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html
The languages for song display are more than just those for the interface.
Nobody knows if or when Apple will come out with new iPods that expand this to include languages like Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Hindi, etc.

  • [bug report] 1.0.3 firmware wipes out Thai font Display

I got 4th Gen iPod nano, with a fair Thai font display from 1.0 to 1.0.2
but after I tried to update a new firmware to 1.0.3 last night, it wipes away Thai font Display. All song and artist names in Thai are all gone and I have no choice but clean restore again to 1.0.3
The song and artist names are working after I freshly have a clean restore but, then, after try adding more songs, the Thai text display ability is all gone again.
Now I climb down and let it back downgrading to 1.0.2
Please let me know if this issue could be passed to iPod fireware development team
    Thank you

    Thanks, Whisp.
As Tom said, there is no menu languages option for Thai, but the iPod will do support Thai Display.
and it is now not working on 1.0.3
More info, I have discussed with other users in Thai forum, they also have the same problem just like me. They can solve this by reset the iPod, however, the bug will repeat every time if they add songs into iPod.
I'm not too sure this bug effects the other foreign language display so.

  • Does Photoshop CS3 Extended support Thai fonts?

I am translating some short text in Photoshop to several Asian languages. I noticed just with the Thai language, that I get a series of X's with boxes instead of Thai characters. The characters are fine in other applications, including Flash CS3. Other than taking a screenshot in another app and pasting into Photoshop, does anyone know of a workaround? Should I install a particular Thai font that is supported by Photoshop? I am running Photoshop CS3 Extended on Windows XP. Thanks for any help.

So in my search, the only thing I found was a utility downloadable at CNET http://download.cnet.com/ASK-Square-Free-Version/3000-2316_4-10855142.html
"ASK Square works efficiently with well-known graphic software such as Adobe Photoshop 7, CS, CS2, CS3 and CS4. It enables users to use of all Thai characters. Users can type all Thai characters, even troublesome characters like. This software also corrects excessively high vowels while typing or after typing just by only one click. Further more it can transform illegible font to normal font that happens when changes a texts font, to a readable normal font. If users copy texts from external application such as word processing or spreadsheet software and paste those texts into their graphic software, ASK Square software can correct the wrong-encoded texts automatically.
ASK Square is flexible. It enable user to type Thai non-unicode font on Adobe Photoshop. Version 1.5.0.10 supports Adobe Photoshop CS4."
Funny thing is you can tell their sales pitch was loosely translated. I gave it a try anyway. The instruction PDF was in Thai, their website was in Thai. But I felt brave anyway, seeing as I googled this application title and didn't see anything negative written about it. Then I go to the application icon in the system tray. As you can see from my screenshot, it ain't exactly user-friendly.
Bottom line... it didn't work. Anyone out there have a solution? I've searched everywhere... Am I the only one with this problem?

  • How to download Thai Font to Blackberry curve 8520

My blackberry curve 8520, T-mobile network, ver 5.0.0.681 hasn't got Thai Font on it. I would like to download Thai font for reading and input (writing).please explain how to do it step by step because I do have not much knowledge about computer or software.  I have read some topics says that I have to download and choose the network provider which mine is T-mobile and it provides only Muli-language (not All Languages) which I can't write it (only reading). I am not too sure it is correct or not.I believe I need to download Blackberry desktop software as well. please also give advice on these software.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages (add/remove programs, Uninstall a Program -- it depends on your Windows OS level)
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
If your carrier only provides a "Multi Language" package, then you may need to look at other carriers OS packages, and find some that have "East Asia" or "All Languages" ("Multi Language" indeed does not have Thai, as per this KB).
    4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    5) Now launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC, and you should be able to select the languages you desire If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    Don't forget to backup.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • Using Adobe Thai Font in InDesign

    Hi
I am having trouble with using Adobe Thai Font on text copied from PDF into InDesign(CS3). When typing with Adobe Thai Font in InDesign it shows as a 'normal' font like Arial. When copying from PDF to InDesign the text appears as glyphs almost like Windings.
How do I get the Adobe Thai font to use properly?
    Hop you can help me.
    Kind Regards
    Anne

It's not clear what you're trying to do. As Peter said, typing Roman
characters will get you Roman characters. The Thai font won't translate.
If you set up Thai input, then you can type Thai, or you can just use
    the Glyphs palette.
But you mentioned something about copying from a PDF. What you get from
a PDF depends on how the font used in the PDF was encoded. Does the PDF
use Adobe Thai? You might get better results saving out RTF from the PDF.
