  • Does Apple have plan about Thai Language support on "iPod" device? (especially iPod Classic)

    Hello Guys,
My name is Dithapong from Thailand, and I'm one of the big fans of Apple products.
I love music, so the "iPod Classic" is the latest device I've bought. The sound is great, more than other iDevice
Only one problem for me, the iPod classic does not support Thai language,
so it's hard for me to play or search Thai song (it show 'blank' in iPod) which is my native language ><
So, I wanna know that, does Apple have plan to release new firmware which have Thai Language support on iPod device?
I and many iPod lovers in Thailand will be very much happy you (Apple) do.
Could you please give my an answer? whether it is Yes or No (with the reason)
    Thank you very much
    Dithapong

Nobody in these forums can tell you anything about Apple's plans, but you can ask them for the feature you want via

  • Greek Language Support for Zen To

The majority of my music collection is Greek songs and it'ss a real shame that Creative does NOT have language support for Greek. I tried entering a song in Greek letters since I have dual language support on my Windows XP. When I look at the Media Source Transferring program, the file name seems to be recognized and doesn?t seem as if there is a problem. However when I view the song title on my Creative Zen Touch (V 2..0 Plays for Sure) the characters are stretched out funny and doesn?t read accent marks similar to how I posted the example bellow.
    A l l I [] s m e a f [ ] s e s ( These [ ] are due to accent marks I guess not being recognized Also pretend this is in Greek letters since this board won?t let me post it in Greek?)
Is there any way around this? It doesn?t seem like such a hard thing for the Creative people to fix?
The sad thing is that Apple actually has Greek language support and to me this is a huge importance to me. I don?t like writing my Greek song titles in Latin characters, it just seems silly.
Message Edited by Colorfinger on 06-06-2006 :29 PM

    Hi Colorfinger,
I also own a Zen Touch and have exactly the same problem you have detailed below with the majority of the music I have loaded to the player as it is in greek and the player doesn't support it. I also have the majority of my music library in greek characters in Windows XP due to the cataloguing issues which arise if the track information is left in latin characters.
When I contacted Creative last year in regards to this they advised me they did not have greek language support for their players and had no plans on offering it in the future either. This of course makes the music library on the Zen Touch an absolute joke, irrespecti've of whether the track information has been loaded onto the player with greek or latin characters. If it has been loaded with latin characters you have the same artist appearing in various areas of the library due to the non standardised spelling of greek words in english. They are either typed phonetically, in greeklish or best guess english. If the track information is in greek, well we have the problem you have outlined in regards to the stress mark not being recognised, the spacing and the alphabetization of the library being a joke when the first letter ot either the artist/album/song is preceded by a stress mark.
I have to admit to being very disappointed as the main reason I purchased a Creative Zen touch is because I had been advised it had multiple language support and I did want to load all my music to the player with greek characters.
To anyone else out there with the same problem, make yourselves known and start asking for firmware updates to include greek language support, especially for people buying Creative's players in Greece.Message Edited by Tomaraki on 09-30-2006 06:00 PM

  • Thai language support on Safari 3 beta

I just try Safari 3 beta for Windows. Its speed is impressed so far but big problem with Thai language.
    - Thai word break is OK.
    - Thai Tonal Marks and Vowels which display on the top of normal Thai character are still incorrect. They float improperly.
    - Text smoothing is not so impressed when display Thai language.
    Hope to see improvements.

Good to know. Arabic does not work properly either. And if one uses a Japanese system no Japanese text is visible.
I think Apple simply has left any support for foreign (non-English/non-European) languages beyond very basic unicode out of the first beta.

  • Could anyone help me test about 'Thai' language support

  • Thai Language Support

Just got my 8900 and wondering how to make it readable on Thai language? My firmware is 4.6.1.94 (platform 4.2.0.69). Scanned through the forums and found the way to make bold read/type Thai, not sure whether I can apply the same process to 8900. Please help.. Many thanks!!

I think is too early to obtain a thai version, you need update the software with a multilingual version but like the 8900 is new, i don't think you have yet.

  • Request: Thai language support and lyrics disp

    Hi,
are there any plans to add the requested features in future firmware versions?
Does anyone know of projects for alternati've firmware?
I just discovered that there are some activities for the ipod. There is alread a free modified FW with Thai support available! Another (commercial) version allows to display lyrics as the song is played!
    What about Creative?
Maybe I decided too early for the Zen Touch instead the ipod...

Since I took considerable effort in making sure that my player supports Chinese characters, I can empathize with your situation, so add me to the list (for Thai support).
As for lyrics support, I'm assuming you're talking about Zen models right? I would imagine it to be quite hard to read lyrics on my MuVo Micro! Nevertheless lyrics support would be a good idea (if the screen's big enough for it to be practical).

  • Thai unicode/ Thai language support in Indesign CS4

I was trying to type in Thai in Indesign CS4 and was met with the font not available characters.  Is there any way to type in Thai in Indesign CS4?

Yeah, you have to scroll down to the absolute bottom of the fonts list and pick a font that supports Thai. Then turn on the World-Ready Composer - in your paragraph style, or in the Justification window, or in a few other places.

  • Language support on Zen Mi

    Hi guys,
I am still deciding between a Zen Micro and an iPod Mini and I am doing research on both. I have read the thread about displaying Chinese characters above and it's indeed valuable info. Now I have two more questions: ) Is it safe to assume that whatever I see on computer is what I would get on Zen Micro. I am using 2000 and although the regional setting is Japanese I can still see Chinese files name without issues. On my other computer, the vise versa is true too. 2) If my collection in the Zen Micro has both Chinese and Japanese file names and tags, can they all be displayed properly given that they are transfered properly?
Thank you very much. Your input is indeed very important to my final decision
    MP3Butt

MP3Pro is owned by RCA/Thomson and is in their brand of Lyra players. As mentioned it competes with higher efficiency low bit rate encoders but does leave a lot on the table as far as hi fidelity goes. Upto 28kbs there may be an argument, above that it harms the sound quality.
I for one am thankful Creative has not licensed this from RCA and increased the cost of our players as a result.

  • Nextel 8350i how to add Thai language?

    Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. I've been searching the internet and blackberry support for Thai language support for BB 8350i. From what I understand by reading BB support website( Link http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB17208&slic..., I have to download the BB desktop software for particular carrier (Nextel) and it should have an options for "East Asian Language" which supposedly included Thai. But when I download it doesn't have that options to select Thai Language.
    My question is,
    1. Is there another way to atleast make my BB to read thai?
    2. Is it possible to download a 8350i driver from Thailand BB? The only think I'm concern is the direct connect feature from Nextel that I'm not quite sure that the driver from Thailand will work with direct connect here.
This might sound a little bit confusing but hopefully someone knows how to do this
    Thanks in advance!
    XD

Nextel is the only carrier of the 8350i in the WORLD.
The current OS is version 4.6.1.83 which you can download from here.
If you don't find the language options you need there, you're out of luck as there is no other device  which is running that OS.
The language modules have to be an exact version match for the OS.  The only other device running OS 4.6.1 is the 8900, but there's no version 4.6.1.83 available for that.

  • Russian Language support for the Zen Mic

Can we get a russian language support in the next firmware update?
I have many songs, that I can not see the name of, because the Zen does not support Russian/Cyrillic alphabet.

it doesn't support Russian ID3 tags on my Zen Xtra or within updated software - Creative MediaSource 2.03.29 or Nomad Explorer 3.0.0. If anybody knows how to fix it - please let me know!
