Thank You Adobe and Lightroom Team!

I just wanted to publicly thank Adobe and the Lightroom Team. I appreciate all of your hard work over the last year or more. Lightroom is a great program (even if there are bugs and issues that we all complain about on here). I love it.
I also wanted to thank you for the offer that was extended to the Pixmantec Rawshooter Premium customers. I was sorely disappointed to hear that Pixmantec had been bought by Adobe. But now that I've used Lightroom, I am pleased and very thankful for the goodwill and hospitality that was ushered forth to us. I look forward to using Lightroom (and updated versions of it) for many years to come! Thank you again for taking care of your customers and making new ones!
Thank you,
Jonah Garoutte

I use the free versions of picmnatic for about a year when LRbeta came out.
WOW!
Being ever fearfull of Betas I tiptoed into the fray.
WOW!
Great beta, and now I am looking forward to finally loading LR.1
I am a happy camper.
I can use LR on a very simple level: Choosing, cropping, color, contacts and web gallery.
OR really MONK it and fill out ALL database infow on each choice starting with the copyright symbol to INFINITY!!
I can definatly grow with LR the same way I am with PhotoShop CS2.
Thanks Adobe,
Yours,

• Thank you Adobe for Lightroom 4

Rarely do I take the time to comment on forums unless I have an issue, but I have to just say that Adobe made my day when I discovered the availability of Lightroom 4 (I've been a longtime user), purchased it, installed it (easily) and found to my delight the video support particularly for mts files. I had been unable to find a suitable cataloging program for mts files and was had to resort to Picasa. So thank you Adobe!

Indeed Lr4/PV2012 rocks! (for the vast majority of my photos).
It really is a pleasure to be able to edit tone without having to worry about stuff like:
- Be careful brightening or it'll get washed out.
- Be careful increasing contrast or highlights will lose detail.
- Be careful increasing fill-light or the colors will go wonky...
Make it as bright or as dim as you want, where you want - PV2012 has your back...

• Thank You Adobe for Fixing Bridge

Wow, that was a very long. painful and frustrating wait to get a version of Bridge that works again. Bridge CS3 was the worst piece of Adobe software that I have used since 94 or 95, Bridge CS4 now actually works again, hooray! Thank you Adobe!
mark

>Don't be absurd, Omke. It's not a free fix for CS3 users. Bridge 2.x was horribly broken and it should have been fixed for free, period.
Well Ramón, I put a smiley in that post...
But serious, I also (as you have done before) have written many times that Bridge was a free application that came with PSCS. Personal I did not have that horrible experience with it that you had. Yes, there were troubles every now and then but I solved them with the cache, plist and refresh method I often described.
I do suspect that the fact that I work on an intel Mac has also something to do with that. However, my experience with Bridge 3 is very positive and a massive improvement compared to Bridge 2.
Yes it would be nice if there had been an update but they have chosen to put al their effort in a new Bridge with some very nice improvements added to the interface (pathbar and better visible menu's to mention a view) and a much better (but not the best) cache management.
Together with Leopard 10.5.5 and CS4 I fully agree with Ann. The improvement of Bridge is (although it comes again for free with PS... :-) ) alone reason enough to upgrade.
kind regards
Omke

I am NOT a Verizon Customer nor is my number a Verizon number. So why am I receiving automated spam for them saying "Verizon we care about you. Thank you. And have a nice day"??? Who do I contact to get them to stop? Most everywhere I've looked required me to be a Verizon Customer in order to contact them....Even calling the number back tells me to enter my number and then tells me I'm not a Verizon Customer. Dial 611. Then hangs up on me...

This is one of the drawbacks with cellular numbers. The device number at one time was used by a Verizon customer. They may have changed it or more than likely ported to the service you are on then either gave it up, or changed it. You as a customer then get it.
The only solution I can recommend is have your service change the number. However depending on who had it previously you may have more texts and spam calls. Or may get lucky and get none.
Good Luck

• Thank you, Adobe for the enhanced actions editor (Was: Thank you, Adobe)

Just want to thank you for the Enhanced Actions Editor... fantastic!
Months ago, I had requested to have something similar that Flash Catalyst had, and you delivered.

Hi Eddie,
On behalf of the product team and Adobe, I thank you for sharing your feedback on the new feature. We are glad that you liked it and we are hoping that it will be as useful to our other users too.
Have a nice day!
Thanks,

• THANK YOU ADOBE!

I'm so EXCITED! But, being 3:49 on a Friday, none of the other girls in the art department are quite as excited as I am! In Adobe Illustrator, Thank you for a shortcut key to PLACE an image AND PLACE MORE THAN 1 image at a time! woohoo!
PS I LOVE the new pen tool also!

In my opinion the "Undocumented" interfaces in the boss class reference could be explained better. Like this one (one of many many many):
IBoolData IID_IBOOLDATA
Undocumented.
Implementation: kBoolDataImpl
Available in: InDesign InCopy InDesign Server Class from:"DOCUMENT ACTIONS.RPLN"
I guess here the tool is useless, right.
Havent tried it yet, but I dont see too much advantage in it. I have been with InDesign API since 2004 and the normal way how to implement a new simple fuctionality is to know the exact name of a boss or command or interface so it is 9 parts of searching in all the documentation to 1 part of coding. The object model is over-complicated in my opinion - the question is why?

• Thank you Adobe........NOT

I personally wish to thank everyone at Adobe and especially the Board of fools. I appreciate you forcing me to use Windows Vista, and a product that is severely inferior to the original Macintosh product of FrameMaker. I especially appreciate that most of the features in Windows aren't even available in the "new" version. I like that I can not use all those nifty shortcuts that I spent years learning to make my job easier. Apparently Windows users are too dumb to use shortcuts? That must be your logic. Yes the new features are great, were you trying to increase job security by making us work longer on what is simple in the Mac version? Well, again, I thank you that I will be going back to my old "non-Intel" based Mac, running Classic, and will continue to use FrameMaker 7 for Mac and will not be using my copy of FrameMaker 8 as it is going in the trash. I refuse to work with a product that doesn't even have the same features. FrameMaker for windows is more of a Downgrade for me so for now I file it in the trash next to what I think of your intelligent developers and business practices. Fix this.

Charles,

A shortcut is a shortcut. What is so "unreal" about any keystroke
combination that does what you require?

You currently already have (and always have had) the ability to modify
any keystroke combination in FM to whatever you want.

Every FM keystroke combination is defined in the cmds.cfg file located
in the \fminit\configui folder. The wincmds.cfg file (in the same
folder) contains the Windows specific customizations for the
established keystroke functions.

For example, if you wish to modify the command to view Master Pages to
ctrl+alt M (note that is the same number of keystrokes as esc v M,
which was originally defined in first version of FM on unix some twenty years ago - before there ever was a Mac or Windows version) you would simply insert or modify the following line in the wincmds.cfg file :

<Modify ViewMasterPages <KeySequence ^~+m>>

This has always been documented in the online manuals
Customizing_Frame_Products.pdf file (see the section titled "Changing
Menus and Commands").

• Thank you adobe, CC Storage is getting there

Hi CC Storage Team, I have been complaining about cloud storage for a while. But latest update as of a about a month ago has fixed most of the pressing issues with CC storage which is great. There will obviously still be things that need work but storage is becoming a viable option. I have not seen any sync issues, no error popups with temp files and no conflicted files which is all great.
The only issue I have a had on the odd occasion is locked files this seems to happen where a files says it is synced but the files remains locked and cannot be over written or delete etc. Only a restart will unlock the file. windows 8.1.
Once again thank you for all the work on storage and than you for listening to us.

Hi Dave
I think I have a fix for this issue. Upgrade too CC 2014 for indesign anyway which is where I saw the problem. I have just upgraded to indesign 2014 and the issue seems to be fixed, I still get the error about file in use. but this is my slow connection speed. If I wait for a bit then try again it works as soon as the file is finished what is was doing. It no longer stays locked.
With most of the bugs fixed, now all we need is more space.
Thanks for all the good update to storage.
Cheers Daniel

• Thank you BT and BTOR

Yes you have read it right after two years of slow .70meg and bellow speeds at my new house I swapped to bt for infinity (due to be ready in next few months hopefully) and today we finally had BTOR sent round to look at our broadband . We were told we should get between 4-1/2-6-1/2 meg but only got after line had settled .50 .well after two hours in house and not being able to isolate the problem and still slow they left and went to check out my cabinet .they came back a few more hours later with good news finally . There are three line from my house going to the cabinet (apparently common incase a line stops working ) and the cabinet is only 200plus meters from my house on the shortest line but for some reason i was on the lonest line .a staggering 2500m plus the BTOR men said they never seen a line travel that far tacking such a round about route but when they moved my line over to the shortest my line was hitting a steady 15-17 meg ! With 22 max achievable . So great job bt and BTOR and thank you for spending the time nessacery to figure this problem out ! Line has been steady and without problems since they left this afternoon.so bt are not that bad!

Awesome news

I can't download iTunes for my iPod. Can you please help me?

Thank you for answering!
After about 3 1/2 hours, of trying to publish, I did uncheck the Facebook box. Only thing is, the Publish Site button will not light up again to let me republish. If I go to Quit iweb, a message says, "Are you sure you want to Quit? Quitting iweb while your site is being published might cause problems".
Does it normally take this long to publish. There isn't any icon or indication that anything is happening. I checked the Activity Monitor and it doesn't look like iweb has any activity, but I don't know for sure what it's supposed to look like.
If I quit iwev, will it erase my site? I would like to republish the same site. Any thoughts?
Thank you!!

• Thank you all, and goodbye for now

Well, one of my prayers was answered. My friend literally gave me his old iMac. It's the semi-spherical one with the "lampshade" flatscreen monitor. I feel like I've entered a new dimension. 800 MHz, 60 GB Hard Drive, 1 GB SDRAM, and Tiger. I can actually run two apps. at once
Thank you all for your help. I mean it. I'll now be next door in the Tiger cage.
Allan

Time does move on........
You will like Tiger, I have it on the 17" (am still learning all it can do, the wife and grandkids use it more then I do). This Panther and I are like two peas in a pod, we seem to know what the other will do before they do... a good OSX for what I do on the 15". Tiger still surprises me with what it can do (as did Panther at first), but I'm sure we will get to know each other with enough interaction. As you will too with Tiger... so, ENJOY yourself and have FUN!

• Thank You, Congratulations, and the Apple TV

Dear Mr. Jobs,
Thank you for creating the MacBook Air. It’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for in an ultra portable. The weight, battery life, SSD, multi-touch with CoverFlow, iChat with iSight, and full size keyboard make this the best ultra portable laptop in the market in my view.
Thank you for taking another swing at success with the Apple TV and considering the consumer while you were up at the plate. While I think it’ll be a homerun, I want to offer my view of what’s still needed to transform the Apple TV into a grand slam. The iEvery. Everything, everywhere, anytime. Or better yet, the iFreedom.
The top two factors in my view that propelled the iPod to reach critical mass were freedom and status. I believe these factors can be applied to creating the same success for the Apple TV.
Freedom
As consumers, we embraced the opportunity to transform the hundreds of CDs sitting on our shelves into a single, portable library in our pocket. The freedom to enjoy all of our music anywhere anytime, provided the motivation to digitize our music libraries, and consequently, purchase new digital music legally through iTunes.
For the Apple TV to succeed, I believe Apple TV or iTunes must facilitate the same legal digitization of our existing DVD film library as is presently provided with our CD music library. That will spark sales for movies in iTunes the same way propelled sales for digital music. Does Congress need to pass a similar law as AHRA for films first or can licensing with the majors sanction this?
Second, syncing vs. streaming. Once a consumer digitizes the media, the most freedom would be found by storing the digital film on a central home TerraServer that can stream content wirelessly. This seems like a slam dunk at home, but I believe what could propel Apple TV into the stratosphere is the ability for a consumer to stream from his home TerraServer to any location, via the iPhone.
The next-gen iPhone could stream any file; music, film, documents, etc.., at 3G speeds. The iPhone could facilitate a wireless connection to the MacBook, and thus provide remote access to any file, including a film viewed on the gorgeous Mac screens. The iPhone could be placed into an iDash in your car to provide access to your home TerraServer, and stream music and films into your car’s entertainment system, as well as hands-free, voice powered phone and email communication.
That is freedom, the iFreedom.
Status
The white earphones of the iPod. For the Apple TV/iFreedom, how about wireless headphones with simulated 5.1 when appropriate. Perhaps in the web 2.0 color, lime green. Also close in color to the Granny Smith. =^)
Thank you again for the MacBook Air. Thank you for listening and considering the consumer. Congratulations on another remarkable year of innovation. I look forward to the next 50 weeks.
Respectfully,
John McMillion

Works fine on 60" here...
What do you mean cut-off? Letterboxed? One side only?
HDMI should sync up without an issue.

• Last week I dropped my new iphone and smashed the front glass, I made an appointment at the Apple Store in Phila., and they treated me like royalty. The store replaced my phone with a brand new one as a one time courtesy, thank you Apple and your store i

Thank you Apple store in Philadelphia for your royal service! I dropped my new iphone and damaged the front glass, and it was replaced with a new phone as a one time courtesy. I am enamoured with their courtesy and kind service there. The trip to the Philadelphia store was a pleasing experience. A big thank you to all the fine rep's at that location....thank you!

Bee , you are so right that most people only post when things go wrong not right. Which made me think about the Apple Store in Charleston, SC. I have never had a bad experience and besides buying my iMac there (which was a really good experience as it took us several trips to decide and they were really helpful) I have had a number of 1:1's and I think one trip to the genius bar which resulted in a new mouse. Everyone I have dealt with there has been respectful and helpful. At least with those visits you do get a chance to provide feedback.
Nice to post these kinds of comments now and then too.
