One question though…
In the announcement, the following information was provided: "Although the Levels have returned, not all expanded functions associated with those levels have been reinstated (for example, not all Level 3’s have notify capabilities). We are working on enabling all of the expanded functions associated with all Levels."
And therein lies the basis for my confusion. As a Level 3 [now nearly level 4] subscriber who was given Notify capabilities just days prior to the switch to the new Apple Discussions software, I discover that I do not now have such privileges anymore. Does the phrase "…working on enabling all of the expanded functions… mean that I, for example, will soon have Notify capabilities restored, or will I have to wait until I achieve Level 4 to earn this?
I don't mean to sound like the whiny kid in the corner, I just don't clearly understand what will happen in the near future to my privileges and those of others in a similar situation.
And—speaking of privileges—I can no longer find a list of them associated with point levels. Am I just not looking in the right place?Michael --
The Hosts are still working on restoring Notify capabilites to Level 3s.
No one know when this will happen. L3's will have them as soon as it's been proven not to overload the system.
Another thing that is "on the list" is the ability to have custom avatars.
Currently, no one (L3,4 or 5) is able to have a custom avatar as part of the discussions preferences.
The boards here are a work in progress when it comes to the new system.
Many new enhancements have been introduced. Other perks that we all enjoyed in the previous system have been worked out in the first 4 months.
Many of the negatives from the old system are no longer here. Many more positive suggestions are being worked on. Patience "is a good thing." -
Can anyone please help? Every time I start up my imac OSX 10.6 desktop my Aperture 3 programme opens up without being requested. Is it possible to stop this happening and only allow Aperture to open by using the desktop icon? Thank you for any assistance anyone may be able to give.

William's solution was much easier - just for completeness sake: The preferences panes to edit your startup items moved between the Mac OS X updates: I forgot that the "Users&Groups" preference pane used to be called "Users" in Mac OS X 10.6; it is the panel that you use to create new User accounts; and earlier systems had a separate preferences panel "Login" to enable and to disable the applications that are launched at login. Both are now combined in "Users&Groups". Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase with the wrong Preferences panel.

Almost my iTunes library is missing since upgrade Lion 7.2. (the last 2.5 weeks worth of added music has transferred post-upgrade, none of whcih was bought from iTunes)
I have it all backed up so that's not the issue. How can I reinstall it with all my hundreds of playlists intact or do I have to recreate each playlist upon reinstalling the backup copy? This would save a HUGE amount of time and efforts. Thank you for your help!hi Limnos,
I do not mean the entire ITunes folder but, rather, the contents of the ITunes folder prior to September 29th. (90% of the media is missing, along with all playlists) The media that remains says it was added on 9/29 although I know most of it was added many months or even years earlier. There are no playlists listed at all, before or after 9/29. (I know for certain that I added non-iTunes purchased songs on 10/6 although I had not created playlists for them)
I have my iTunes folder backed up on both an external drive as well as Time Machine.
I run iTunes off of an ITunes folder on my computer rather than from the external, if that's what you mean about how I have it set up.
Is it OK to drag the entire iTunes folder from the external drive onto my laptop's drive and see if that fixes it?

You can have more than one category - this page shows you how the tags are formed:

The Store will list only the first category and its sub-category at the top of the page. Like the first category, the others will in theory make your podcast available for searching by category. However searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note:

Note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special.

If you can't reach the previous owner or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPhone for a refund if you can.

Please follow the instructions below to sync your upro mx/mx+ with your computer and update to the latest software - 3.1.005.
1. Ensure the upro sync software is running on your computer (you will see a black icon at the bottom right of your screen by the clock with a Callaway logo in it).
2. Plug your device into your computer; select Sync then PC.
3. The sync software should initialize and launch the uxplore website. If you haven't installed the upro sync software you can download it Here:http://www.callawayuxplore.com/downloads/

5. Double click "3_1_005_launch," then click the green START button
NOTE: If you get a "Unable to launch application" error please follow the instructions below.
1a. Navigate to "Control Panel" through the start menu located in the bottom left of your screen.
2a. Find and uninstall any "Java" applications. After uninstalling please go back to the start menu and right click on "Computer" or "My Computer" and select "Properties". In the right half of the pop up windows it'll say the Operating system your computer is running. If it says x64 bit click: http://tinyurl.com/lhkps2rto download the correct java for your computer. If it doesn't have a number please click: http://tinyurl.com/qysyctb to download the correct Java.
3a. Once the correct Java is installed please follow steps 1-5 listed above.
4a. To update your Java back to 7 please click: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp. Once on the page select "Free Java Download" to run the download (Make sure to uncheck any Mcafee or toolbar installations during the installation).
Once the update has completed the device will restart itself. At that time you can unplug it or select Sync and PC to launch the uxplore site again to continue syncing courses.
NOTE: Do not try to sync courses to the unit while the update is running or both processes will fail.Java isn't a part of the Mac OS X anymore, so you will need to install a version of Java. However, I don't know what version of java is required for this software. You need to explain to their support that you are using a Mac and what OS you are running. Download the latest java and see if that works.
