Thank you for the driver l

I know I came across as being very upset, and I still am. Neither Compaq or Creative Labs phone support were able to help me with this and I have been sitting here patiently waiting for days for some sort of answer from someone.
I still found this whole process VERY confusing to say the least. And before you lecture me on the "correct processes' or my behavior, consider this. I am a very technically knowledgable person. If I had this much trouble finding a driver for this card, imagine what other less knowledgable people have to go through. Most likely they would wind up purchasing a whole new card when really there is no need for it.
In my mind and others I am sure, its ridiculous to have a completely different set of drivers for an OEM card with the same specs as the retail version.
Again thank you for your help. Its a shame you felt you needed to close the thread before I could thank you. I guess controlling the argument is of more importance to the Creative moderators instead of working with someone to find an answer.
Handing the problem off to another vendor is sadly very typical of the tech word, and its sad to see that you guys have tried to do the same. In the end, you provided a link to the correct driver and I am grateful for that.

Ian Bell, you have to get one thing very straight here, these are NOT support forums! these are only for user interaction, if you have a problem with a COMPAQ PC, you contact COMPAQ SUPPORT, if they forward you to Creative Support, then this means the CREATIVE email support, not just posting your questions in a USER forum and demanding an answer from the moderators, who's job is only to moderate the forum not handle customer support.
You should be happy THEY helped you find the link COMPAQ should have provided.
btw, threating to write a bad piece on your website is not the way to get any simpathy or support

<SPAN>you should contact HP/Compaq, not the 3rd party hardware providers who made their products to HP's specifications. Buying Compaq/HP/Dell/.. != building your own PC. Messing with the internals is against the company policies. Read up on it before you start shouting out that Creative did nothing to help you.

hello there, this is really urgent i would like to ask if there is a way to deactivate/lock my Mini Ipad because it was stolen, i hope you can provide me a way to do so, thank you for the support and i really hop you can help me, i bought this mini ipad not too long ago.

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating and/or remotely wiping it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you haven't already done so then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model you should also contact your carrier.

No, your library will remain - but you should be keeping and maintaining a backup of your downloads/library.

    frank,
every negative experience is an opportinity to learn.   deleting or moderating these experiences would be turning away the chance to learn.   as long as users follow the participation rules, we allow even the most negative posts to remain.
as you said, forums are inherently negative by nature as users typically come here to solve a problem.   those of us who try to solve the problems are in the minority.   we certainly appreciate users such as yourself who voluntarily return to the forum to help out, especially those who initially came here to solve a problem themselves.
    thank you as well.

  • Thank you for the SOLUTION!

Somewhere, out there, there is a GOD. I saw it on one of the posts that the "workaround" for all of this error 1402 stuff was to download a Quicktime Alternative ("Media Player Classic"). This WORKED! when nothing else would...I am happily downloading music (and VIDEO!) again thanks to this unknown GENIUS! Whoever you are: THANK YOU! And you should re-post that link so others can try this solution.

Rather than starting a new thread every time it would be easier to follow you if you stick to the one thread

  • Thank you for the best distro so far!

    Hi!
I just want to say thank you to all the people who made ArchLinux possible!
I've been using Gnu/Linux for some year now and I've been testing everything from Mandrake to Gentoo. Though none of them could satisfy my needs of a fast small distro with a great package manager! But now I have found my new best friend and he is named Arch!
So once again thanks to everyone who made it possible!
I've also been starting to translate the documentation into Swedish!
    Have a nice day!

Also registered just to say thank you! I've been using spotify since it came to the US and was ported for webOS. I have since bought an android phone and was happy to see a working version for Linux (Been rocking Ubuntu for 4 years now). Had the same recent issue that many people are reporting with 12.04 (The life of being a beta guinea pig) so I'm trying out the 0.8.X previews and it's working so far barring the known issues. Blah blah blah, thank you guys!

  • Thank you for the new KDE Experience!

Well I think splitting up the packages was the best thing you could do. I switched back from Kdemod (Chakra) here to plain archlinux kde packages and they are wonderful! Now I can install only the packages I want and everything is just working. The chakra-team does good work, but there are not many developers and sometimes they need a lot of time to create new packages and this is bad if archlinux is faster and kdemod blocks my updates form archlinux.

stefan1975 wrote:well i think both [extra] and kdemod work just fine after trying them both for kde4.3 .... but you really think [extra] has more kde devs then kdemod? i think not. the problem with the kdemod upgrade to 4.3 was related to the change in packaging in [extra].
The packages in the 4.2.x series KDEMod on x86_64 often took weeks to get out the door after i686 had been available.  Hopefully those days are over for the KDEMod folks tho'.

  • Thank you for the virus included in the Mozzella Firefox Download it shows you really care. "\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\fajy3yg3.default\Cache\2\1A\D0454d01"

a free download from your websiter

Let me guess you used a antivirus scanner to scan the computer and it found something in the harmless Cache and made you think you were infected.
This is not a Firefox browser failing or Mozilla's doing. The Cache well caches things as you browse the the internet. Also Mozilla has never included any form of virus, trojan maleware or such in a Firefox download as otherwise it would have been all over various tech news then.
The Cache is not vulnerable like the IE temp files can be as viruses and trojans and such are completely harmless while sitting in Cache until either you clear or delete the Cache or it gets bumped out as Cache continues to Cache stuff.
Just clear the Cache and scan again.

  • Just writing to say thank you for the update

I'm an iPhone 4 user and I just wanted to say I'm very pleased thus far with the iOS 7 update.
I know no one will read this, but wanted to say thanks anyway.
It doesn't change my life, but you have made some helpful improvements.
To whomever might be listening, thanks

I like the new update as well.  I hate to see so many people having issues with their updates but I've updated 3 iPhone5's and 3 iPads and I have had zero issues with any of them.
There are few minor bugs to work out but it's a big change. Clearly not everyone will like the change but man, to see so much belly-aching when screenshots and videos have been out for months about the new 'look & feel' of iOS7, it's almost ridiculous.
    Carry on Apple!
