I purchased an iPad 1 (in Australia where I used to live) and 5 months after the warrenty had run out it ceased to turn on. This I hasten to add, was only 1yr 5 months after purchasing it, and I think we all expect a premium product, which we pay a premium price for to work for longer then 1yr 5 months.
This aside, I was advised my the Apple service centre in Singapore (Where I now reside) that due to the lack of warranty I would have to pay circa $450 SGD (£225) to get a "new" IPad 1. This was my only option.
After begrudgingly parting with my money I recieved a "new" iPad with a 3 month warranty a week later (less than a week ago)
The iPad has since stopped turning on again, having exactly the same problem as previously. I was advised by the genius at the Apple retail outlet in Isreal (where I am currently, bearing in mind there is no official Apple store in the country) that the iPad I had in my possesion was purchased in Australia a yr and 5 months ago and had no warranty. Not only had I paid $450 SGD for Apple only to fix my old iPad, I had been falsely advised that I would be recieving a new Apple product and my serial number has not been updated with the additional warranty. I feel a little cheated.
Personaly I am dissmayed by this turn of events and feel hugely let down by Apple.
I was going to give the iPad to my father as a present as I haven't seen him for 2 years, but it's worthless.
Any assistance with this matter would be highly appreciated, I just want an iPad that works and a warranty period that makes sense for the amount of money I have spent on the product.Thanks people
When I refer to letter, I mean email or eletter, whatever you wish to call it, but a correspondance via email very quickly to a global high-tech technology company. This is the year 2012 after all, I would feel slight disbelief if the only way to raise this complaint would be via a real letter.
If there is no other way, than a letter will have to suffice.

I have a T-Moble hot spot - new - it connects to my ipad but does not connect to the internet for my gps use - it even will disconnect from my ipad often - the t-moble guy said I need to remove the wifi profile from my ipad and then restart my hot spot - would someone help a novice --walk me thru how to remove the wifi profile - thank you in advance!!! Here are two suggestions:
1. Go to Settings > WiFi. Then for each white arrow you find inside a blue circle on the right, click it, and then click "Forget this network" on top. Repeat for all occurrences of arrows in circles.
2. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and press that button. -

I have an issue regarding the e-mail system, and I wanted to know how I can add a default that the date and time is added automatically to the E-mail page everytime I draft a new e-mail.
Does anyone know how do create a "plug-in" to enable me to have the date and t ime posted on the e0-mail page every time i send a new e-mail ?
If there is a plug in which is compatible with Lion iMac computers thart insert the date and time into every E-mail I send ?

Removing dust etc is a good idea, so long as you're careful... but get the correct screwdriver first & read about the process at iFixit or similar sites. -
I have created an extra large (10"-13") Photo Essay style iBook in Aperture and just realized that all my other iBooks are 8.5"-11". How can I transfer all the formatted pages to the smaller book size without having to start over? Thanks so much for your help.

that will require some extra work. If you change the book size, some of your edits will probably be lost, because texts and photos that will not fit the smaller layout will be removed. The best you can do will be to save your current book, so you can compare. Try the following:
Create a PDF preview of the current version of the book and save the PDF, see: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
Duplicate the book: File > Duplicate
Then change the Book Sizeof the copy (from the Theme Button) and compare, what is missing, hopefully not to much.

I downloaded a movie I paid for. I went to play it after it had down loaded to my Ipad. It says it is not downloading to play it. I am wondering how do I get it to play or get my money back? Thanks so much for your help!!! Karen

Anyways I tried the suggested solution and again reaching the review prompt and opting create new Apple ID doesn't take me to the option none on a card information or any billing account I am not meaning to sign in for. I'm just meaning to download free apps which I have done so many times now, I mean 3x. But still, the first time I had so much downloaded and I didn't have this problem. Please could someone help me? Or will I need to reset my content and settings again? This would be my 4 or 5th time to need to do so. If so, is it better I get my iPad with retina display replaced? Not wait for it's value and brand new value to it go low. I got it for an x'mas gift just this January 19 ,2013 from family and if it's better I avail of the free shipping and handling on apple's returns and exchange, then I will do so. I am running out of usage space. How do I increase the total amount of space I have on my iPhone4S: for things like programs & apps such as, iTunes & more music & like MusicTube & YouTube. The only reason I have any space now is because the music that I had downloaded and synced onto my phone from iTunes I had to take it all off. I would really really love to be able to put my music back onto my iPhone. Currently I'm using apps like Spotify, AOLradio, and MusicTube to listen to music. Thank you so very much in advance for any help that may be given!
Also to add to my original question: is what I'm asking even a possibility??? Meaning is there even a way to get more usage space? Or do I have to just continue to work within the confines that apple has preset on the phone?

I was so delighted, after waiting the 20 minutes for your latest OS X 10.6.8.whatever Snow Leopard to load itself, restart itself, and load itself again, that I actually hugged myself with joy; but nothing could have exceeded the sheer ecstasy of discovering that -- once again -- Apple has MORE than met the usual expectations with whatever the update has done to iTunes, and even to apps -- Firefox, Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements, just as minor examples -- that have nothing whatsoever to do with Apple! THAT'S what I call attention to users' wants!
This afternoon, I downloaded several gigabytes of public domain music from the State of Florida's Folklore site (I'd give you the URL, but somehow, in Apple's technical excellence, the new OS X 10.6.x update blew every bit of history up until the past 5 minutes, all cookies, and, MOST welcome of all, EVERY STORED PASSWORD for the hundreds of password-protected sites, forums, and wonderful discussion groups -- including this one -- I've ever belonged to right out of Firefox 5.0.1! Who knew Apple would be so thoughtful as to NOT merely CLEAN, but annhilate, Firefox's cache & cookies, whether I wanted it to or not? What a bunch of swell engineers and forward thinkers!)
But I digress... back to iTunes. After I DL'd all that great stuff from the Florida Folklore site, I copied it all into iTunes, and made nice playlists for everything I got, all neat and organized so if I wanted to listen to the Georgia Sea Island Singers, or, say, Doc Watson, or Bill Monroe, all I had to do was go to the rock-solid iTunes playlists. And yes, I closed iTunes and reopened it just to make sure the playlists were there and had the right music in it, because... well, once in a millenium or so, an iTunes update does funny things to your iTunes catalog. You know: it doesn't feel... well, fresh, if you catch my meaning. Everything was fine and life was good. So I closed iTunes again, full of hope and butterflies and rainbows and good thoughts and stuff like that.
I came back to my Mac this evening and discovered that software update had new and greater marvels for me, in the form of 7 new updates. "SEVEN!" I thought, this has gotta be great, like maybe FINALLY support for 1080p through the now 3+ year-old MiniDisplayPort's input.
That stuff's chump change. Apple's no piker! I could never have even dreamed that an Apple Update would do so many things to so many apps, so completely and irreversibly -- not only blow out all the bookmark history and passwords from Firefox, but strip out every single new playlist I made this morning on iTunes, and hide EVERYTHING I'd added to iTunes in the last three months so that the Music Library couldn't find it! I was awestruck! But my joy would soon be lifted to an even higher plane!
Not only did the System Update strip iTunes of every new playlist I created this morning, it simplified iTunes EVEN MORE for me, by moving every single music file I'd added since June 7, 2011, to places where iTunes can't SEE them, and they don't clutter up the main Music Library window in iTunes anymore. Is that GREAT or what? Now I get to manually replace several hundred music files, and therefore save myself from the tedium of actually getting WORK done. It's like an iTunes Boot Camp Vacation! Just as a for-instance, here's how the new OS update logically placed some of the files I had taken such care to make sure were available in iTunes, both in their playlists, and in the Music Library:
None of the songs from "Shall We Gather at The River" or "Florida Folklife Collection" show up in my Music Library now, by golly, so I don't have to waste my time listening to music I worked for a considerable time to get all safely tucked away in the glory that is iTunes. Ahhh, who needs music anyway?
BUT, being a "I love surprises" kinda guy, I've saved the BEST for LAST (also because I just found it out, when I tried to re-save these TIFF screen shots by taking them (first try) into PhotoshopCS and (second try) taking them into Photoshop Elements, which I keep as a quick & dirty backup app for just such purposes. Imagine my utter SPASMS of delight when BOTH Adobe products -- long-since bought and exorbitant-license-paid-for -- told me (A -- Photoshop): "You're missing a critical component and Adobe Photoshop can't open these files," then (B -- PS Elements): "Your license has expired for this product; you must procure a new license from Adobe Products)! BZZZZTTT! Wrong, I'm running valid retail licenses for both products -- or I WAS until the latest OS Update came along and blew my licenses out the back door. And who KNOWS about the hundreds of other apps and utilities I've paid tens of thousands of dollars over the years for? Have Apple's Update Engineering Wizards made THEM essentially non-functional, too? It's 1AM, and a little too late to explore. I can't WAIT to get on the phone to Apple Care and ask them to congratulate the engineers of this latest and -- so-far -- most spectacular update!
