Thank You: The Final Decision
I wanted to thank those of you who patiently answered my questions regarding the selection of an external monitor exclusively for photo image editing.
After pouring over numerous reviews & sorting through the myriad of forum threads, I have narrowed the field to 2 contenders: the NEC EA231WMi & the Dell U2410. Neither of these monitors are perfect & both have their strengths & weaknesses.
And regardless of my final selection, I will get an Eye-One Display 2 colorimeter.
As a final call for input, if anyone has any strong opinions regarding either of the above monitors, please let me know.
Again, thank you for your thoughts & suggestions.
it would cost $20 a month more than you pay now for a device that will handle email and web 1000x better than your phone now...
Thats $240 more dollars a year for the ease and convince..
You should think more about how the data package will help you than how its just a random fee you get nothing for
I use my phone every single day of my life for emails, even if its just being lazy in bed, waiting at the doctors office, to view some foodnetwork while i'm shopping, watching youtube while my gf is trying cloths, checking stock prices while waiting for the daily meeting to start..... etc etc

med dementI'm not sure that's what fixed it. Posts reporting radio issues were dropping off before the updates were released. Also people who were neither running Lion nor iTunes 10.5 reported problems and many people who ran both also did not report problems.

How can I turn off other languages on my ipad the next generation running ios7? I have the international language set to English but it's showing a foreign language and sometimes it shows the foreign language with English. Thank you.

If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab. -
How do I transfer 30 GB of stuff, mostly text documents, bookmarks and a few hundred photos from a MacBook model 1,1 in the black case, purchased in (2007?) running Leopard 10.5.8 with a 667 bus, 2 GB, 256 GB to a MBP 13" Retina running Yosemite 10.10.1? Using Migrate is out. Discovered after I bought it that the Seagate Plus Backup for Mac does not work with 10.5.8. OnetoOne recommends backing up my data before I do that, which seems like a good idea. Have a 801.11 n Time Capsule that also isn't working so that is not presently an option. Thank you.
The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8
The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes. -

I have been rebuilding our iTunes library on a external hard drive, no problems to start with. The pc crashed the other day and I lost some of the files.
I can see the music files on the external hard drive, but I haven't been able to get iTunes to pick them up as being the library despite following the instructions to map the drive under 'preferences' in iTunes. I have added new songs, these are being saved in the folder on the external hard drive and are showing in the library pane on iTunes, any suggestions how I can get the other files to show in the library? The proper way to use backups is to restore the photos to their original location, but you probably don't want to do that as you said your old hard disk was almost full. Thus, the solution given above will solve the problem. -
I'm having trouble figuring out how to add the user name in the menu bar. I used to have it showing along with the time & date etc. But i've looked everywhere trying to figure out how to do it. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

In Safe/Secure Mode many Drivers are not loaded. When your computer works in Safe Mode, but not regular mode, two types of problems are implicated:
1) Third-party kernel extensions. a conflict with some part of Mac OS X means that when those extensions load, your Mac can not run.
2) Failed graphics card. Since the Driver for the display is not loaded, the display in Safe Mode uses a very simple built-in Driver. In regular mode, once the driver is loaded, all parts of the graphics card must be working, or you could get bands of color on the display (which is just what you reported).

I just downloaded the new Firefox 4, rebooted, and viewed your videos re the new look and new features. Problem is, my toolbars look no different than before. The new icons you talk about do not appear on my screen. Please advise. Thank you.
The Firefox icon is the default feature for Windows Vista and 7 only, it does not apply to Windows XP users.
To have the Firefox icon instead of the Menu Bar:
View > Toolbars and UNCHECK the Menu Bar.
After that, click on the Firefox icon and you'll have the Menu Bar appear again.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google), or try accessing it via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)

The ability to use AirPlay is BOTH an OS requirement(Mountain Lion) AND has hardware requirements. You need to check and see if your 2010 Air will support Airplay.

I am running Snow Leopard on my early 2006 MBP. I just downloaded Boot Camp 3.1 so I can upgrade 3.0. Is there anything special I need to do to "install" 3.1 so that when I run Boot Camp Assistant it uses 3.1 instead of 3.0? That update does not apply to Boot Camp Assistant, and as you are using Mac OS X 10.6.8, you are using the most recent Boot Camp Assistant version for Snow Leopard.
Once you have installed Windows with Boot Camp, insert the Snow Leopard DVD in Windows and install the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers. Then, install the Boot Camp 3.1 drivers -
