You send the attachment from within the Keynote app itself. I don't have Keynote but I assume that it works that same was as it does in Pages - which I do have.
When you have the file open in Keynote - see if there is a wrench icon in the upper right corner - this is the tools button. Tap on that icon and from the resulting popup window tap on - Share and Print - the next window should have "E-mail document" at the top - Tap on that and the mail app will open and the attachment will be in place and ready to e-mail.

Sorry, yes this is Microsoft Excel. The Microsoft XP has Excel files denoted as xl, the later versions of Microsoft Excel are denoted as xls files. The later verions of Microsoft Excel open the xl files OK, does Excel for Mac not able to do this?

My provider is gmail through Rogers in Canada. I use Thunderbird. My iMac is set for imap. I am unable to find where it tells me what mu iPad is set for. I've checked settings: mail and can't find it.

On my ipad mini, when I delete an email from the inbox (and it goes into Trash), it immediately deletes that email from the server (ATT/Yahoo). I've called support for both ATT and Apple and can't find a way to have the emails remain on the server.

You don;t get an e-mail from outlook.
Outlook is just an e-mail client, just like the mail app on the iphone.
Your e-mail comes into your e-mail account, which you access from both Outlook and the Mail app.

Problem not solved. I just received an new email from the person involved. Same misspelled name in the "From" field. I did as Paul_31 suggested and then quit and restarted mail.

Each email account can have its own alert or notification settings.
Settings > Notifications > Mail > tap on each account and set the alerts you want.

Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

Don't know which email host you are using, but if this is a POP account, you can't do it. If IMAP, then deleting one email should delete it on all other devices.

Outlook is an email client, not an email account. If your email account is a POP account
Go to Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account>Advanced>Delete from server>Never.
If your email account is IMAP, you can't prevent that. IMAP accounts sync across devices.
