ok so I switch on my Tv this morning to be greeted by a big red X in the center of the screen so I phoned the help line and got a recorded message saying theres a major problem blah blah blah no need to talk to an advisor ok so i wait.
about 10 minetes ago the service resumed asked me to scan for channels which I did and then I checked scheduled recordings and all my set up was there as before but when I went into recorded programmes they are all gone over 70 unwatched recordings gone.
called up the helpline and got no where no explaination nothing

It's just possible that the data for your recording list isn't available yet after whatever outage they had, so don't give up hope just yet.
It may be worth another reboot to see if the it forces a sync.

10.6.6 Update Causing Major Problems!!!!! Thanks for nothing Apple!!!
Strange things have happened to my computer after the 10.6.6 update:
1) My system already had Snow Leopard installed, but now when I go to "About this Mac" it has mysteriously downgraded to 10.5.8.
2) A folder with question mark icon appears at bootup before Apple logo.
3) Large amount of permission errors that can't be fixed via Disk Utility (see below).
4) Disc drive will not read or boot from my Snow Leopard or Leopard CDs.
5) Will no longer detect my external hard drive where my Time Machine backups are held.

10.6.6 is a frickin' disaster!!!! Everything was working perfectly before this update and now I feel like I've been kicked in the balls by Apple. Thanks for nothing Apple!

Message was edited by: vanguard95It didn't do anything to Front Row on my computer. I doubt it did anything on yours, either.
1) Update wouldn't have done that. There is no code in the update to replace that string with 10.5.8.
2) Your boot files are messed up or non-existent. Very rarely this can be fixed without reinstalling the system.
3) There are always a lot of permissions that can't be repaired by DU because they don't need to be repaired. They're not broken, just different. Did you check permissions before you applied the update?
4) Sounds like you have serious hardware problems. With the Snow Leopard disk installed, can you restart while holding down Option key and get to the startup manager? If so, pick the Snow Leopard disk and boot from it. Use Disk Utility in the Utilities menu (available after selecting a language) and repair the disk. Don't repair permissions from that disk.
If it finds errors and fixes them, try booting from the hard drive. You may have to re-install Snow Leopard. -

Nope....I know. i need to blame myself. it just asked me when i pluged the phone to my pc for the first time since looong...
so. its okay. i had a back up with some pictures and some contacts and all that.
the install process just got an issue so it stoped half way through and i could only completely start over.
i was mad. now its okay -

Well my over $3000 HP laptop - HDX18-1200CTO model is now a paper weaight. From the number of issues the last two years, to you not honnering the free 90 day warenty that I got from having to pay for a issue that you guys did not fix after my orgnail warenty was over, to sending me back my machine with a few keys missing to my hard drive being messed up and me looising a ton of photographs and music files, this is the LAST time I'm using HP products. This computer is UNUSABLE NOW. I had to go out and buy a $549 samsung model as I need a computer for work and I did NOT fell like shelling out $200 or so bucks to get the HP fixed only top have it return with more problems

You can sell it on e-bay, I keep an eye on these "not working" HDX 18 machines and they usually catch a high price at around 3 to 5 hundred dollars. That's no where near the 3000.00$ that you paid for it, but it's better then nothing.

I tried to test this today but couldn't get anywhere with it. So I contacted Skpe support via chat and got told that I don't get free calls to 63 countries, I only get to choose 1 country. I already had 1 country so does that mean my big thanks is actually thank for nothing? Has anyone actually tried using the free calls via the new offer???Same issue here. Nice to get the email but they havent actually sorted this issue.
Any ideas when this will be active because if they dont put me on World Calling I dont need Premium, I only purchased it for the video conferencing. World Calling may keep me. -
Thanks for responding. Since I upgraded ITUNES to IOS 6, my IPOD Touch no longer works at all. I had numerous apps, music and videos on this touch. It made me restore to factory reset and it still does not work!!! Nothing I do will work on this touch now. I have so much data on this, I don't want to loose or have to restore!

Hi, i have edited a clip in hd with final cut, now I need to export it in 2K format. anybody knows how i can do it in FCP? in internet I found only few info about 2K format: no more than frame size. nothing about codec or similar. thanks for any help.

I've heard about transcoding services, and they are very expensive.
so i'm looking if there is a way to do everything by fcp.
the project will be delivered as SD DVD for archive pourposes and as a single file for the projection or eventually transconding.

MacBook will not start. I have restarted with original CD. I have used Utilities and "no problem" with hard drive. I have reset PRAM. I have tried safe boot. Nothing is work. Gray screen with Apple logo and rotating wheel. Thanks for any suggestions!
Snow Leopard is a Mac OS X version. You say that it's the version you have in your Mac (10.6.8). Do a back up of your files, format the hard drive (using Disk Utility) and reinstall again

I have an Iphone 4S and ever since I did the IOS6 update I have not been able to update or downloand new apps. Itunes works fine along with everything else. I touch the update or download tab and nothing happens. Thanks for any input!

When I click on download button, it goes right to the "thanks for downloading" splash page,and yet nothing has downloaded -- no download file box comes up, nothing.
I stupidly uninstalled the version of iTunes I had working on my notebook when the update kept failing and am now unable to get anything happening at all.I had probs with 7.2. Reloaded 7.1 works fine. I think 7.2 needs some more work before it will work for me.

why cant i download itunes on my windows 7 pc? i used to have itunes on my pc once but it was not uploded for a while and got deleted...and now i have tried to download it and all i got was "thanks for download itunes"...after that i have tired to dwnload it from another web browser and ive got the same thing.....!!
Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

I had it before but had to reinstall windows due to a software glitch. But now I'm up and running again, so I went to downlaod Itunes, only to find it wont run and download at all it skips straight from download now to thanks for downloading in practically 2 seconds and nothings downloaded. Its really fustrating and I have no idea why this is the case or what I can do to get it to download, please help. I have never had a problem downloading it in the past. I use windows 7, with google chorome and IE 10, tried it on both to no avail.
