I'd just like to publicly thank Apple for lowering the price of the iPhones. I'm now the proud owner of a 4GB iPhone, picked up about an hour after the event ended, for $299.
I'm glad I waited.
I'm sorry so many people are upset about the price decrease, but I've bought Apple products in the past (various powerbooks, etc.) that had new models released within 60 days of my purchase. Heck, look what they did to my AppleTV! A new, higher-capacity model within a few months of its release. My Macbook and Macbook Pro? Changed from Core Duo to Core 2 Duo within a couple of months of my purchase.
I can only dream of getting $100 store credit for every time I've bought shortly before a major revision in the product, or a price change. If I were eligible, I'd be thankful for the credit.
I walked into an Apple Store, walked to the counter, and asked for one. Stores should still have them in stock.
It's also available on the online apple store, through a link at the bottom right corner of the front page of the store.

Thanks for the crappy software that nuked my Curve. My decision to get an iPhone just got easier.
After the initial sync, my Curve now looks like I just bought it. No more emails on my device, calendar failed to sync, mysterious error messages with no corresponding KB article here, it even forgot my timezone. Thanks for the lip service, but I'm taking my business back to Apple where they have engineers who give a **bleep**.
I'm having the same issues as the first user and this is now the third time that it appears I am going to have to rebuild/restore my entire berry. I'm sorry guys, but I don't want to have to do this once a month - if I was a fan of restores and repairs, I'd get a PC.
When I first restore, syncing works fine. Then, within a week or so, my syncing only works properly if I do it one way. (By clicking "Replace all contacts on this Blackberry device" - if I don't select that option, one of two things will happen. The Blackberry will miraculously have duplicates of every entry in the address book OR the syncs will fail right at the outset. So for a few weeks, I have to remember to click that little option to replace the contacts. Inevitably, later that month (3 times now), no syncs will work. I'll just get repeated 'sync' failed efforts. No amount of restarts or power cycles will fix anything and essentially, the BB is screwed. The second time it happened, the BB actually replaced every one of my contacts with a random contact in the list. I had the same Richard repeated 300+ times.
It's a good thing I do regular back-ups, except that the back-ups don't remember any of my preferences and I have to redo all my settings and accounts. Essentially, this is a load of BS. The berry itself works fine as long as I power cycle it once a day - but the syncing application is a disaster.
Furthermore, the calendar sync has NEVER worked. All I ever get is a blank calendar, which is silly since my iCal is packed with events. Also, the Clear Device Data never works, which is also a bit crap - because that seems to me to be the easiest way to fix this.
Starting tomorrow, I'm going to be harassing my provider to get me a new handheld because the Desktop Manager Software ruined mine.
The next time this happens, I imagine I'll be switching to an iPhone. (Which I absolutely DO NOT want to do because I detest the touch screen keyboard an would much rather prefer to use my Curve's tactile QWERTY.) -
Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS5, my music stats (play count, last played, etc.) no long sync to iTunes. How can I fix this? Thanks for the help.
If you have any podcasts in your iTunes library you should see a Podcasts sync setting tab to the right when you connect your phone and click on its name on the left sidebar (see image below). On this tab check to sync podcasts and sync your phone.

Sounds like it windows/PC. I have ran across that for the CDs that veterinarians provide for digital x-rays.

If you plan on using AT&T, why on earth would you purchase a Verizon iPhone? Doesn't make any sense. Yea, it will work on AT&T's network, but you won't get LTE, only 3G. LTE requires using a Verizon sim.
This is an extremely poor idea. Purchaase an officially unlocked iPhone, from Apple, if you want to use AT&T's network. -

Host we need more details:
What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting). -
I was setting up my Airport and thought the first set up dod not go through, then I set up again and ended up with two wireless accounts. I use it for the prointer and the iPad, and I can see both accounts in the iPad. How do I get rid of one account? Thanks for the help!
me.com accounts can be used for iCloud. See the FAQ section in:

but it may be too late if you have already created a new AppleID.
A few years ago Apple said they were working on allowing account merging, but it never happened (maybe objections from copyright holders). -
I have an ipad3, iPhone3gs and iPhone5, my problem is my apple ID works all 3 devices but I need a second ID for the iPhone 5. How do I delete my ID and set up a new one for the iPhone5 but keeping my own apple ID for the iPad and iPhone 3GS.

Is there a way to change the alert tone for the find my iphone app? The one they use from the factory is terrible! I tried it out and could hardly hear it from 5 feet away!

Unfortunately, so far as I am aware you cannot change this tone. I must admit I don't fully understand your problem, I've tried it myself and can hear it from some distance away. -
I have upgraded Snow Leopard with Combo 10.6.8, the supplemental update and fixed permissions, but still can't open app store to upgrade to Mountain Lion. I am on the Cayman Islands. Thanks for the help!
Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post. I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

After running the installer the dock the opens up is blank with a blue dotted loading emblem and will not do anything?????. I attempted to quit the install and restart but it produced the same result. New member here, thanks for the time.

You will need to upgrade to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) first buy DVD from online apple store
Then to 10.7 Lion - buy and download via Store App included in SL
and then 10.8 Mountain Lion upgrade the same steps as Lion -

Moving the iOS device backup location
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up, or with Start > Run on older Windows.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: (for example) type in this command and press <Enter>
Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your preferred drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you have Windows XP then you'll need a third-party tool such as Junction to link the two locations together instead of the MkLink command. The source folder is C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
