Thanks for the upgrade help!!

I'm a new apple user who just bought a used iMac G4 15" 1ghz 256mb machine off eBay.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted regarding upgrading these machines (especially mrtotes). Tonight I successfully changed my factory ram to 1gb (I figured I'd be inside the machine, so upgrade the factory ram first), added a new pram battery and a nice 16X DVD-RW.
With all the pointers everything went extremely smoothly and my machine is now very zippy! I also grabbed an 250gb external firewire drive the other day.
I'm now a very happy camper - so much thanks to everyone!

Thanks for the upgrade to Firefox 4! Unfortunately, you don't say anywhere that it's not compatible with OSX 10.4. Might want to fix that so that other users don't run into this issue.

After the latest upgrade to 3.whatever, Firefox asked if I'd like to upgrade to 4.0. I said yes, assuming (since Firefox has always been compatible before) that it'd install and work. It didn't. Why? Because Firefox is no longer supporting OSX 10.4, apparently. This should probably be noted SOMEWHERE so that trusting people like me don't screw up our existing Firefox.

I looked for a link to the system requirements page before I downloaded to my PowerPC Mac, but I couldn't see it anywhere.
However, I saw that Mozilla was bragging about supporting Windows XP whereas the new IE 9 did not. One would assume that if Mozilla was bragging about supporting that old Windows platform, they would also support a Mac platform of the same vintage.
I did not assume wisely. I am very disappointed in the Mozilla team.
For the record, I am running the latest version update of Leopard (10.5.?) on my PowerBook G4.

Don't be afraid to bump this topic. There's also an App Store forum where you might repost this question, but give some of these details in your post. I'd rephrase the topic to something like "Can't use App Store to upgrade." (Instead of can't "open".) Then give the details.

Go to the support site for the provider of the MRI software.
Sounds like it windows/PC. I have ran across that for the CDs that veterinarians provide for digital x-rays.
I would try on a PC or on yuur Mac with Windows via BootCamp or a virtual machine like VirtualBox

Close ... before going for a specific Cisco app ... lets find out some details:
Host we need more details:
What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting).

me.com accounts can be used for iCloud. See the FAQ section in:
<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4895>
but it may be too late if you have already created a new AppleID.
A few years ago Apple said they were working on allowing account merging, but it never happened (maybe objections from copyright holders).

Why repeat the question in the description area? That provides no more information than just leaving the description area blank.
Yes you can edit documents in Pages. What can you not figure out that you want to do? Have you transfered a document to the iPad and opened it in Pages and tried to edit it?

My thanks for the help in restoring iTunes. I was unable to remove both Apple mobile and Apple support, however, removal of iTunes and Bonjur was sufficient to allow a new download of the latest version. Thanks!

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

I also tried using parseInt() method from Integer, but came up with the same exception:
java.lang.NumberFormatException: 8
from the line sets = sets.valueOf(buffed);
Here is the code in question:

                                System.out.println(buffed);
                                sets = sets.valueOf(buffed);
                                int total = sets.intValue();System.out.println(buffed) pulls the string "8", as it should: the in.readLine() is using a dataOutputSteam type "in", and reads the line, which consists of 8 and ('/n').
If anyone can offer a reason as to why this is happening, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I confused myself, and I actually used the Buffered Reader object "in" and not the dataOutputStream object. Actually the file I'm reading is a txt file created by a dataOutputStream. This seems to create a buffer around the actual character so that when I do

                                String unparsed = in.readLine();and say the txt line was output in the form
                                DataOutputStream out = new dataOutputStream();
                                String salsa = " ";
                                out.writeChars(salsa.valueOf(count));
                                out.writeChar('\n');, where int count = 8, I get back a string of length 3 such that

                                twisty = unparsed.toCharArray(); returns twisty[0] = "[
twisty[1] = "8"
and twisty[2] = "[
This seems very odd to me. How do I get rid of the borders surrounding "8", and how did they get there in the first place?

If you have any podcasts in your iTunes library you should see a Podcasts sync setting tab to the right when you connect your phone and click on its name on the left sidebar (see image below). On this tab check to sync podcasts and sync your phone.

How can i upgrade to IOS5.0? I get a message saying my ipad is ineligible for the upgrade

IOS5 downloads fine through itunes on my macbook and when I connect my ipad, it asks me if i want to upgrade.
When I say yes, it backups up the ipad, extracts the software and then shows a message saying my ipad is ineligible for the upgrade.

We have completed our first upgrade of FA from 10.7 SC to 11i. Most issues arose from the introduction of WorkFlow for Account Generator. In addition we have had difficulty activating the "security by book" new feature. This is still under investigation. We upgraded PO, AP, FA and GL. I can say that more than half of our time has been spent resolving FA issues.
The length of time the task will take will depend on which functionality you use. Have you seen the upgrade kit on metalink? it has all the upgrade steps. From that you could determine how many steps you need to perform.

We are on 11.5.10.2 with 10g db,now we are going to upgrade to R12
I have done all the pre jobs in the 'Upgrade Guide: Release 11i to Release 12''s character 2 except the 'Prepare for the Upgrade' section.
In the 'Prepare for the Upgrade's step 3:Step 3 Run Rapid Install (required),it ask me to run Rapid Install wizard
But i can not understand what use of the action?
When run rapidwiz,should i close the app and db?or only keep the db running?
Anyone can help me?

After run rapidwiz,the dict will change to $AD_top=/U8/TEST/app/testappl/ad/12.0.0 automaticly??No need to create the dicts manualy??
