That Batching Window Pane

When in the batch window pane, formatted searches can not access the window pane with the row information to retrieve such information like Project Code assigned to that row.
What solutions could be used to do this? DI-API? Database query? I don't see how the database query would work as the Goods Receipt document can't be added without batches first.

URGENT HELP PLEASE! Compressor BATCH WINDOW disappear

Hello Folks,
I work with final cut Studio 2 and compressor since 1 year. Since last week, when I try to export or open a clip in compressor, the Batch window is not there. I've try to submit a new batch from Final cut or motion to compressor or open directly a movie in compressor but nothing seems to work??? I tried to reinstall all the software and nothing to do. The same problem occur. What's the bug???

There's an actual application called Batch Monitor. Go to Spotlight and type Batch Monitor. It should appear, click it and there it is.
If you were talking about the batch window in Compressor itself, there is the history window (I think that's what it is called, I'm away from the Mac right now). Check up in the menubar under Window and look for the History window. That will list all the jobs you have submitted, whether they were successful or cancelled and the time remaining.
Hmmm... wait. Are you looking for the window that you actually drag your files onto and where you drag the compressor settings to? Try again under the Window menu, or try under the File Menu and select New Batch.
See if that works.

Compressor Batch Window Will NOT open

Please help. I have read some posting on this subject but I cannot get Compressor Batch window to open. I have un-installed and installed following the Apple instructions several times, updated the software, all to no avail. I need this work and I am tearing my hair out. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? Thank you.

The only way I got it to work is to manually uninstall Compressor and Qmaster first (earlier post 3 up). The part of article 302845 you need is below. AFTER you uninstall them and restart, Leopard and your install discs should not see compressor. Then re-install Compressor and Qmaster, but don't update them.
Remove and reinstall Compressor
To reinstall Compressor effectively, you need to remove the application, its receipts and associated files, then install Compressor and use Software Update to install additional updates. Follow the steps below to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Compressor. Note: Make sure that you have the installation discs for the application that Compressor was bundled with and the serial number handy before starting this.
1. Use Finder to remove the following listed items:
* /Applications/Apple Qadministrator.app
* /Applications/Apple Qmaster.app
* /Applications/Compressor.app
* /Applications/Utilities/Batch Monitor.app
* /Library/Application Support/Apple Qmaster (the folder)
* /Library/Frameworks/AECore.framework
* /Library/Frameworks/Compressor.framework
* /Library/Frameworks/MediaServerAPI.framework
* /Library/Frameworks/Qmaster.framework
* /Library/Logs/Qmaster (the folder)
* /Library/PreferencePanes/Apple Qmaster.prefPane
* /Library/Receipts/Compressor.pkg

12. When finished, use Software Update (under the Apple menu) to update your software to the latest version.

Placing a hatched or window pane effect on a photo in the album

Iam in the middle of making an album as a gift, one of the photos was placed with a window pane effect on it, I know how to remove it, but would like to place that same effect on a different photo in the album. Unable to find out how to do it. Tjank you for your help.

What version of iPhoto? I assume you mean you're making a book, right? Can you take a screenshot of the photo with the effect and post it (use the camera button in the tool bar). What does the photo look like back in its Event? I don't know what you mean by a window effect but it might be one of the Effects options in the Edit mode
Select the photo in it's Event and use the Photos ➙ Revert to Original menu option if it's not grayed out. That will remove any edit done in iPhoto.

Invisble child window pane

Hi,
I'm currently doing a project which has parent and child vi concept. When i was searching for few examples related to the concept, i came across this example. In this example i'm not able to drag if the window pane is invisble, meaning the child window disappears. With window pane visible i could drag. So how could i solve this problem? Is it possible drag without window pane for child vi?

Under very few circumstances would I ever have more then one event structure in one VI. You have two, and one is inside another...inside a while loop. I would recommend avoiding having more then one event structure, and just handle all events in one, keeping previous data in the shift register.
Also regarding moving windows without a title bar and child/parent windows. Here is a proof of concept I made a while ago that puts children windows into a parent window and the children can be moved and resized as a child, or made a floating window.

Mail won't display the trash can on the left hand window pane

Hello:
I have just re-formatted an older Mac Mini using the version of Panther that was bundled with the machine.
Yesterday, Mail was launched, the account was re-created and the user's email came in without a problem.
Today, she noticed that there is no trash can icon in the left hand window pane. Can anyone tell me how to get this icon in plain view or re-install if it's disappeared?
The user tried making a folder called "Trash" but it yielded no results.

Is this an IMAP or POP3 account?
Have her try this...
Right click or Control+click on an eMail she wants in the Trash, go down to Move to... then select Trash which there may be 2 of... see if that creates it.

Making those window pane bars go away

I'm sure that is the dumbest question to date, 'cause I'm sure it's obvious to everyone else, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere.
Here's the deal: I got a psd file with several layers in it from another person. I have successfully worked with it in the past with no problem. Tonight, when I went work with it, I find window panes separated by multicolored bars obscuring parts of the image as I try to work with it.
I've looked everywhere for help about panes and/or bars, but nothing comes up. I've looked at all the preferences, but none seems to apply. The various view options don't seem to have any effect.
The bars show up in "standard edit," and in the "before" view of "quick fix," but sometimes, when I work in "quick fix" mode, they also show up in the "after" view.
How do I make those pesky bars go away so I can see what I'm working with?

I was trying to run Photoshop Elements 3.0 on my new Vista PC. I decided to download and install PSE 5.0. This was anything but a trouble-free installation, but when I finally got it running the bars went away.
While I was trying to get PSE to work under Vista, I discovered that there is a plug-in available for Paint.net that allows it to handle photoshop's PSD files. I installed the plug-in and found that Paint.net handles the PSD files I have been working with just fine.
Given that Paint.net is free and has always worked perfectly with Vista, I've given up PSE in favor of Paint.net. PSE is too troublesome, too complex and too costly for me.

Mail window pane vanished - how to bring back?

In Mail,
When in the Inbox, there is usually a small list of emails (sent to me that perhaps i haven't read) at the top and if I click any of them I get the preview or email in text at bottom of screen below it (divided by a line).
My wife was reading emails and scrolling down on the right, and somehow Mail quickly set itself to only have the emails (sent to me) only appear and now i have to double click any single email to see the email (which pops up in a new window).
In other words, I believe the technical way to explain it is that the window pain on the bottom is no longer there. How do I bring it back to the way it use to act - do I need to selecting something from the "view" menu at the top?

There is a spot in the middle of the bar at the bottom of the Mail window that is used to hide or reveal, or dragged to resize the message preview pane. Depending on your display resolution, you can see that this spot is actually multiple lines.
Although not fully applicable to Mail 2.x and OSX 10.4, the following support document does provide a picture of this spot on the separator bar (which now you have at the bottom):

The Batch window won't appear in compressor 3.5 or 4 when I open it.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix the problem of the batch window not opening. On both the 3.5 and the 4 version. Both stopped working today. I know mac just put out an OSX update, does that have anything to do with it?

Go to the Compressor Menu>Window>Layout and choose Standard. If that doesn't fix it, download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion and trash your preferences.

Hide batch window?

I will be submitting a program for a contest soon to be reviewed by the judges (written in Java obviously). Our team has included a .bat file with the program that cd's into the class directory and java's to start the program. However, when the program is running, the black console batch window stays open and acts as a java console (spitting out exception messages whenever one comes up). This isn't very pretty. I was wondering if there is any way to hide the black command console batch window after it has launched my Java program, so that just my program's GUI is displayed, without the batch window.

Use javaw instead of java to invoke your application. javaw is used exactly in the same way you use java. javaw.exe comes along with your JRE.
:P. Start/b works only from the command prompt and not from a batch file.

Batch window in compressor not opening

Hi I just started using compressor and I can get all windows to open but I cannot get the batch window to open. I need to compress WAV files to MP3s for inclusion in my elearning software that I develop.

If you click in the batch window, the target options should become available. There are also other ways to apply new settings and destinations.

HELP ! - Batch window completely gone :s

I can't open a "Batch" window.
If I *send from FCP* no window is opened.
If I click File->New Batch, no batch window is opened. If I drag a MOV file in, nothing happens.
In the Window menu there's no mention of Batch window.
Once upon a time it worked. Now it doesn't.
Help!

The opinion on other similar threads I've since searched is that a re-install is needed.

Not sure about the CD burning issue but you can turn off the listing of your past purchases. Edit > Preferences > Store > Untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

Currently I have had to often downloads and sift through all my files to find the ones I want to open into itunes, and it's irritating.

Media is only where the user puts it.
Installing iTunes does not and has never caused media to magically appear on the computer.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.
