Hi Folks,
Same error here. I can successfully video chat with my mom, who has a G4 iMac, connected from her house via cable modem + Airport Express + iSight. I cannot video chat with my sister (G4 Mac Mini, cable + Linksys WRT54G + iSight) nor with my dad (Intel iMac, DSL + Linksys WRT54G).
Skype video, however, does work with all of them.
I tryed so many alternatives:
- changed streaming configuration in quicktime prefs
- disabled firewall in macs
- disabled firewall in routers
- changed local network ip address range in each house
- there are no iChat add-ons (are the BBB games that came bundled with Intel iMacs iChat add-ons?)
This is so frustrating... no audio or video chats. Text works fine.
Anything else I might have forgotten?
Thanks!
Leo

  • Java error trying to forward logs?

I'm getting a really strange error when I try to set where my Operations Manager logs direct to. It happens whenever I click on the gears icon for the ANALYTICS, COLLECTOR, WEB, and SUITEAPI folders in Administration > Support > Logs. The error that pops up looks like a Java error log, but in an error dialog box. I've attached a screenshot of it. I can't even get to the form to enter the IP address and port (I want the logs to forward to Log Insight). Does anyone know what might be causing this error and how I can fix it? Thanks!

    Hi,
This should help you in understanding the problem better.
The <jsp.forward> tag can be used to cause a client request to be forwarded to an HTML file, another JSP file, or a servlet for processing.
Whenever the <jsp.forward> tag is encountered by the JSP engine, the engine forwards the request that was sent to the JSP file to another file. The JSP engine doesn't process the remainder of the current JSP file.
    The output buffer
Anything that has been written into the output buffer by the current JSP file will be lost.
There are two possible outcomes regarding the output buffer. If the output from the compiled JSP file is buffered, the buffer is cleared before the request is forwarded.
If the output is not buffered (page directive with buffer=none), and if the buffer is not empty, the use of the <jsp.forward> tag will result in an IllegalStateException being thrown.

  • Is it impossible to port forward on an express?

I have tried to figure this out for a very long time. After a few hours I have to do other things and get back to it after some weeks or even months. I really need some help. thank you.
Every discussion I find gives instructions that simply do not exist when I open my Airport Utility. I've finally come to the conclusion that the Airport Express can't be configured to forward the port 5003 and access my computer's FileMaker Pro database with it.
    1. Is this true? do I have to buy an AEBS simply to port forward?
    2. If I have to switch, then how do I plug in my stereo? Do I have to have both?
    3. Why can't I do this? I really find it hard to believe that Apple would make a router that can't be configured.
    Maybe I'm wrong
All I know is that the answers I find are either woefully out of date or give me instructions that I can't follow because there is no tab by the name in the instructions. Is there some other new exciting thing I can use to do what I need? Does Apply have a quick and simple solution that I don't know about?
I just need to access my files remotely.
    thank you

Thanks, Bob, but I purchased a static IP address, and it's supposed to be assigned to the AX. When I check "what's my IP" through a website the correct IP is returned. I'm thinking that means I don't use DHCP at all, but do everything manually, which I've done.
I have called comcast, and they say when they ping my AX at that address, it returns a signal, so they can't help me if I still can't connect to it. They say it is getting through their modem and must be a setting on my AX router.
I can go into the modem and I've tried port forwarding it too, but that still won't connect to my server machine.
So I've tried it on bridge mode with the modem forwarding to ports, and not bridge mode, but, "sharing a static IP" with AX forwarding to ports, and neither works. I really just do not know what to do.
Filemaker pro will publish to the internet but it only gives me the LAN IP address when I publish. using the static IP gets me "unable to connect to server" error.
I also want to access the file remotely using my iphone app for Filemaker, and that doesn't work with any IP address I try.
These 2 things are advertised as features of FM, and their site can't help either. I don't know how anyone makes this work.

  • IP Address Assign & Port Forwarding

Using the UFO Airport Extreme and Xpress.
I want to use one of my system to host a server. How do I assign an IP Address to that particular host?
A problem I tried port forwarding to an IP address is let say I want to assign to this system (say 10.0.1.5), when I tell it to forward data to that IP on whatever port, Airport reboots and reassign a different IP address. This is annoying.
I have some PC running also and when I tried to use the Access Control List, some PC doesnt want to connect, even when the password is disabled and the ACL is on, and I double checked the MAC address, the PC cannot connect.

Yes you need to assign that computer a static IP address outside the range used by the DHCP server in the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS). By default the DHCP server uses addresses 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200 so using an address in the range 10.0.1.201 to 10.20.1.254 is safe.

  • Problem with Port Forwarding - Password.

    Hello,
I have a LINKSYS router, model BEFW11S4 v4 and its firmware is version 1.52.02
My problem is that neither can I do Port Forwarding nor Port Triggering, because when I make the changes I need and press "Save Changes", it asks me for the username and password again. I write them again, but this time it does not accept them.
I have tested it with 2 laptops connected to the router wired the first time and wireless other times.
    What should I do?
    Thank you in advance.

Normally, you cannot "see your modem" in your network.  This is because a modem does not have an IP address.  A modem simply converts one signal (ADSL, DSL, or cable) into another signal which is an ethernet signal.
However, some devices that people call "modems" are actually "modem-routers".  In this case your "modem-router" probably does have an IP address.  If your system is set up correctly, you can "see"  a "modem-router" that has an IP address, but it is not part of your LAN (local area network).  It is on a another subnet.
The ethernet port of the modem should be wired to the "Internet" port on the BEFW11S4.  Do not connect the modem to any other port on the router.
Maybe we need to back up a step or two here.  I have always assumed that you were able to get a properly working wired Internet connection through your BEFW11S4.  Is that correct?
What is the make and model of your modem?
    Who is your ISP?
Also, when you set up your router, leave the username blank.   Do not try to add a user name.   Change the password to something unique.  Do not use the password default "admin"   (with no quotes).
Since you are still having problems, please use the following protocol to reset your router to factory defaults:
    1)  Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
    2)  Disconnect all wires from the router.
    3)  Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    4)  Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
    5)  Power down the router.
    6)  Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
    7)  Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    8)  Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
    9)  Try to ping the router.  To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.  A black DOS box will appear.  Enter the following:  "ping 192.168.1.1"  (no quotes), and hit the Enter key.  You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out."   If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
    10)  Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1.  This will take you to your router's login page.  Leave the user name blank, and in the password field, enter "admin"  (with no quotes).   This will take you to your router setup page.  Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen).  Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt.  In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware.  After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you have problems, report back the results of steps 9 and 10.  Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.

  • Port Forwarding Rules

I had to do a factory reset on my MI424WR router while trying to get a security DVR accessable from the outside. I noticed that I have far fewer port forwarding rules now than before the reset.  Does anyone have a list of rules I "should" have. Or maybe a config file I can load?
The issues now are that I lose connectivity with the net after the router runs for a couple hours.  I also lose the ability to log into the router.  Resetting the router clears it for a while, but then it dies again.

The rules that should be in the router should be applied by Verizon or added by the router automatically as time goes on. For your case, just re-create your rules and see if anything breaks.
For the router deal, consider disabling services like UPnP, the IGMP gateway, and the Firewall so the router runs in simplest form. Alternatively,  see if you can narrow down the disconnects down to a specific device or with bad Coax if you have a coax connection back to the ONT. Failing that, consider asking for a new router from Verizon.

  • Port forwarding RV016

    Hello to all cisco experts!!
Hi guys im new here, I need ur help, I've got a Cisco small business router RV016.  At first I have no problem in port forwarding because our first ISP install with simply  DSL broadband modem, for some issue on our first ISP, our company acquire a new DSL connection on a different ISP.  My problem now is our second ISP install to us a DSL modem with 4 ports built-in router so how can I forward a port for our Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) in our Cisco RV016 while the Public IP address is in the Second ISP router.  I know I can use the port forwarding feature on our Second ISP router, but I would like to use the port forwarding in our Cisco RV016 because we also use the the VPN client access feature in our Cisco RV016.
Is there a way to solve my problem guys? I highly appreciate all your helps, thanks in advance.
    Ricardo Trupa

    Ricardo,
My name is Ismael. Iam with Small Business Support center and do appreciate you reaching out to us. From what you have described to us is that you having issue with port forwarding with RDP (3389). I am also understanding that you have a Modem/router combo from ISP and then the RV016.
For port forwarding to work, you need two rules one on your modem/router  and one on your RV016 . So its source ip address will be the LAN of this modem and destination is WAN ip address of the RV180. Another rule is then configured on RV180 WAN pointing to LAN of the internal device  you trying to reach. So its source ip will be the WAN on RV016 and destination will be LAN ip address of the internal device you trying to reach. This type of double port forwards can be complex and unstable.  So if your network allows for configuration changes then you modem can be set to bridge mode, to simplify things and have them working for you all the time.
The single port forward can still be done, but it would require for your ISP to fully bridge your Modem. This will allow for RV016 to receive a public ip on WAN1. Once bridged only one rule is required on your RV016. Hope this helps you.

  • WRT320N. Port forwarding help. Xbox and ps3 playing at same time. NAT issues

    Hi
I'm trying to have both my xbox and ps3 play with open NAT's for online gaming. I have had success utilizing info from 'portforward.com'. But the solutions will unlock OPEN NAT for either the ps3 or the xbox .. one at a time. Is there a way to get both to be open?
It seems like one main conflict is the success depends on both utilizing port 3074. But I can't have both use it? ( obviously).
I tried port forwarding the xbox per specs off of this forum and that works great.. And DMZ ing the PS3. But like i said before. Most solutions
leave one console with OPEN and one with Moderate.
Is there a solution that allows both NAT OPEN's on both consoles?

First of all XBOX works on a different port number and PS3 works on a different port numbers. Follow the steps below to open the ports on your router for XBOX and PS3.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
This settings are for your XBOX.
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
For PS3 Follow the steps below
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 80 and End box type in 80, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    2) On the second line in Application box type in DEF, in the start box type in 443 and End box type in 443, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    3) On the third line in Application box type in GHI, in the start box type in 5223 and End box type in 5223, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    4) On the fourth line in Application box type in JKL, in the start box type in 3478 and End box type in 3479, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    5) On the fifth line in Application box type in MNO, in the start box type in 3658 and End box type in 3658, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
    6) On the sixth line in Application box type in PQR, in the start box type in 10070 and End box type in 10080, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box and click on Save Settings
    7) Now assign the given ip address on your PlayStation ip address :- 192.168.1.20, subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0, default gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    8) Also assign the dns addresses on the PlayStation Primary dns :- 4.2.2.2...Secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1

    10) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the PlayStation and test it...

  • FritzBox Port Forwarding Help???

Does anyone out there have any experience with port forwarding
and the Fritzbox model 7170 or 7040? I am Having porblems with
an iChat account and it is possible that the culprit is the
    Fritz Box.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I have a FritzBox 7170 that I've used with port forwarding, I'll try to be as specific as possible. Before you do this, you need to assign your computer a static IP address, if you don't have one yet. (See here if you don't know how to do this, scroll a little for the Mac OS X section: http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/static.ip.address.php)
    1. Open a browser page (Safari, Firefox, whatever) and access your FritzBox. Usually with the address fritz.box or with an IP address that you find in the documentation.
    2. Make sure you have the "expert settings" on. Go to the menu "Ansicht" and there choose "Experteneinstellungen anzeigen". Confirm this by pressing the button "Übernehmen".
    3. Go to the settings menu- "Einstellungen"
    4. Click on "internet". You'll see several sub-menus, including "port forwarding" ("Portfreigabe").
    5. Click on "new port" ("neue Portfreigabe").
    6. Youl'll see a pull-down menu, choose "Other applications" (Andere Anwendungen"). Write your own IP address in the field below.
    7. Write "iChat" under "description" (Bezeichnung) and then choose your preferred protocol, add the port number you want to reserve for iChat in "from" and "to", your IP address should have been automatically added and then write port number again under "an Port". Confirm by clicking on "Übernehmen".
That should be it. You probably had tried already, but hadn't seen the options because you hadn't turned on the expert settings option. The same happened to me I hope this helped.

  • WRT45G Port Forwarding Help

Ok I just switched to this router yesterday. Before that I had a dlink one. I copyed the ports that I needed to rune Apache Xampp and my Game server called Evolutions. Now I tryed port forwarding with this router but all i get is " User Login - Failed
    Access permission is currently denied
Can anyone Help me? I will attatch a screenshot of what I did to port forward.
As you can see i am trying to portforward Neverland which it my game server that I run and Apache to be able to have a site run off my computer.
If anyone can help please do
    Thanks in advance,
    Cailer

It looks like you have assigned your server a fixed (static) LAN IP address of 192.168.1.101  ---  is this correct?    If you are not using a fixed LAN IP address in your server, you probably should be, otherwise, from time to time, your server will get a different address from the DHCP server, and your port forwarding won't work.
If you did setup your server with a fixed LAN IP address of 192.168.1.101, then you are probably using an illegal fixed LAN IP address.  With Linksys routers, fixed LAN IP addresses must be outside the DHCP server range.  (This is different from D-Link routers.)
Rules for using fixed LAN IP addresses on Linksys routers:
With Linksys routers, a fixed (static) LAN IP addresses must be assigned in the device that is using the address. So you need to enter the fixed address in the computer or printer, not in the router.
When using a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server range (typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255.
Therefore any fixed LAN IP address would normally need to be in the range of
    192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99 or
    192.168.1.150 thru 192.168.1.254
assuming you are still using the default DHCP server range.
Also, in the computer, when you set up a static LAN IP address, you would need to set the "Subnet mask" to 255.255.255.0 and the "Default Gateway" to 192.168.1.1
It is also important that no two devices on your network be set to the same static LAN IP address.
Check all of your static LAN IP addresses. If you have violated any of the above rules for static LAN IP addresses, it could be the cause for your problem, and you should fix it before attempting any other router repairs or changes.
Also, are you sure you need to use port 443 ?   Port 443 is usually used for "https" communications.  Is that what you are using it for?

  • How to port forward in windows server 2012 ? for IIS

    Hi,
I have windows server 2012 in AWS cloud (Public IP)
Installed IIS 8 and running website in the port 8980 and its working fine (Public IP)
    My question is
I have CNAME record in Godaddy in the name of example.com which is pointed to my PUBLIC IP ... its working fine.
But I want to know how to port the 80 request to 8980 in windows server 2012 thanks.
    Wes

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want that example.com(in Godaddy) to transfer corresponding queries(port and website name) to the website on WS 2012(in AWS cloud).
Since your domain example.com is supported by Godaddy, I recommend you to contact the supporter of Godaddyand confirm that if their product supports port forwarding.
In general, if you useWindows ServerInstruction, we may enable NAT(Routing and Remote Service) on network interface to redirect services/ports.
    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

  • Port forwarding with natd

I have set up my Leopard Server with a public ip on Ethernet, 85.165.220.114, and a private ip on the Airport interface, 192.168.207.200.
This is working well, I can access my server with a registered domain name from the internet, with web, ssh etc.
Now I want to forward port 12000 to a device on my network with ip 192.168.207.245, and put this into /etc/nat/natd.plist:
    <key>redirect_port</key>
    <array>
    <dict>
    <key>proto</key>
    <string>tcp</string>
    <key>targetIP</key>
    <string>192.168.207.245</string>
    <key>aliasIP</key>
    <string>85.165.220.214</string>
    <key>aliasPortRange</key>
    <string>12000</string>
    <key>targetPortRange</key>
    <string>12000</string>
    </dict>
    </array>
I have Firewall setup and running, and NAT running on my server.
Port 12000 is checked in Firewall, and that should be it.
Port forwarding should now work, but it doesn't.
Looking at Firewall log, it looks like the Firewall is doing it correctly:
    Aug 10 11:02:46 leopard ipfw[66524]: 12315 Accept TCP 84.212.229.188:57224 192.168.207.245:12000 in via en0
    Aug 10 11:02:46 leopard ipfw[66524]: 12301 Accept TCP 84.212.229.188:57224 192.168.207.245:12000 out via en1
So I am completely lost why this does not work as it should.
    Ivan

I got it working at last. I removed the Airport, and made a second Ethernet interface in system preferences - Network. The second interface populated with the private IP address, and gateway with the same private ip (192.168.207.200).

  • Email I was trying to forward was stuck in outbox for hours. Unable to stop it attepmting to send or delete it.

After having over a month of trouble-free use with my new iphone 4 on Verizon, I had a problem while traveling over the weekend that I could not figure out.
I was in a strong signal area with good 3G coverage and went to forward an email that was received shortly before on my Charter account. ( a pop 3 account). The iphone went to send/forward the email and it would never leave the outbox. The progress bar on the bottom said "sending" and the circular activity indicator just kept spinning. Once in the screen showing the outbox the "edit" button in the upper right hand corner was grayed-out. I could not touch on the email to try to highlight it.
So I tried to force-quit the email app and then restart it-same thing. I tried to shut the phone off for a few minutes and restart it-same thing. I held the home button down for several seconds while in the outbox-all I got was voice control. I put the phone in airplane mode for a half hour and then back to normal operation-same problem.
I then decided to try to send another email with the same account, hoping it would purge the stuck email from the outbox- the new email sent properly and the older one that I had been trying to forward was still stuck.
So after about 6 hours I went back inot the outbox for the 20th time and the email was still stuck, still trying to send, but this time the "edit" button was NOT grayed-out. I was then able to hit "edit", select the stuck email from the outbox, and delete it. It never got forwarded.
Over the course of those 6 hours I traveled to another major city (by car) that also had great signal strength and 3G coverage and the phone was still unable to forward that email (it was stuck trying to send)
Please help! I love my new iphone, but that really freaked me out.

What happends when you press the Home button?  If nothing, try resetting your iPad by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Cannot Port Forward RV042 in "Router" Mode

I use an RV042 exclusively as our VPN host to our main network for branch office connectivity. The RV042 is configured in Router Mode and does not provide Internet / NAT access to the LAN. I would like to add an additional role to this unit by having it Port Forward web requests to an internal Web Server. It appears that the router cannot do Port Forwarding while configured in Router mode; can you confirm this to be true? Is there a work around or an alternate configuration that would allow me to port forward web requests from the Internet to my Internal Web Server and still keep the RV042 in Router only mode?
    Thanks

    Mike,
The port forwarding feature only works in the context of NAT. This is true for all small business routers.

  • Port forwarding on SPA2102-R?

Hi, I have a modem and a Linksys WRT54G broadband router, and all of my applications/games worked fine. However, recently my family installed a SPA2102-R VOIP adapter, and many of the applications that were working before stopped. I was thinking that maybe it was a port forwarding issue, or something of that sort. Any suggestions?

If you think that it has something to do with the ports being forwarded in the router, then better check what are those ports currently forwarded in your WRT54G router. If you are now using the SPA-2102-R as the main router, then these same ports should be forwarded in the SPA-2102. Anyway, if you are not sure how this should be done, better go to www.linksys.com/kb and just search for port forwarding. I find their KBase useful with regards to how to’s and other stuffs.
