Thawte certificate signing error for jar file

We are running im version 7.2-28 (patch 118786-28). When connecting to im via the web (which we are serving from webserver version 7) user are prompted by certificate error for the im java application -- not to be confused with the web server certificate.
This seems like one of those things I miss in the release notes, find later and feel stupid, but I've not found it yet.
The certificate details are:
L=Palo Alto,
ST=California,
C=US,
OU=Secure Application Development,
O=Sun Microsystems Inc.,
CN=Sun Microsystems Inc.
MD5:0D:62:CF:DA:1F:0F:00:E3:02:2F:B6:3A:A8:36:4B:DC
With validity:
[From: Wed Jan 05 15:02:33 GMT 2005,
To: Mon Jan 15 18:21:35 GMT 2007]
It is signed by Thawte, but the CA certificates look fine.
Any advice on what I'm missing would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ethan

Hi,
You are facing this issue coz the certificate used to sign im-client jars is expired.This is a known issue and will be fixed in the upcoming release.

    May i presume that your cluster is configured on a shared file system?.
              I have seen this problem only if you cluster is configured on different machines
              and if the directory structure is not identical.
              let us know..

  • Error opening jar file

    I'm using WLS 5.1 SP8 on NT 4.0 and trying to setup a cluster. The cluster
              starts fine except when I try to deploy a session bean that is marked as
              clustered. I get an error about reading a jar file
              (D:/weblogic/mycluster/server196/tmp_deployments/ejbjar1559.jar) that WLS
              created when the server started. Every server is getting this error and I
              tried setting up the same paths (D:\weblogic) but it doesn't matter. Any
              ideas?

    it is returning "The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden error for some file types" Error.how can i get rid of this.please help me
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    It seems there is something wrong with your code, from your code the account and key are the same, because their appsetting name are the same.
    string account = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["StorageAccountName"];
    //string account = CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting("StorageAccountName");
    //string key = CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting("StorageAccountAccessKey");
    string key = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["StorageAccountName"];
    string connectionString = String.Format("DefaultEndpointsProtocol=https;AccountName={0};AccountKey={1}", account, key);
    return CloudStorageAccount.Parse(connectionString);
    If you use CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting, please consider set azure project as the startup project, if not, this value will be null, this resulted in solution being started as a web project that didn't run inside the Azure emulator. Since CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting
    tries to get setting by contacting Azure (or Azure emulator in this case), and it is not running, it returns null.

    Yuping,
              What release of WLS w/ service pack are you using? Make sure, if you are using a non-shared file system, to have the same absolute paths to your application on your file systems.

  • How do I sign my icons.jar file?

    I'm new to this web stuff and learned that I need to sign my icons.jar file. Can anyone explain how I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    hi
    why do u want to sign the icons.jar?.if you are using webutil utility u just need to sign jacob.jar and frmwebutil.jar.
    and if you want to sign u may try something like this.
    C:\<Developer Home>\jdk\bin C:\<Developer Home>\forms\webutil\sign_webutil.bat C:\<Developer Home>forms\java\frmwebutil.jarsarah

  • Could not load file/URL (file not found) error for JNLP file

    I am completely baffled in trying to figure out why I am getting the following error for some JNLP files but not others:
    Error: could not load file/URL specified: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2 (The system cannot find the file specified)

    at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)I have Googled around this forum and elsewhere, and have seen reports that this error is IE-specific, and seems to have something to do with no-cache headers being sent, or with the client browser's cache being full or turned off (which is not my case). I saw the information in the JavaWS FAQ, which recommended turning off security constraints for the JNLP's URI. I tried that, and it didn't help. One of the very baffling things is that I have created several variations of the JNLP file, with varying combinations of jars and property resources, and some combinations always work while other combinations never work. Here's an example:
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="$$codebase">
       <information>
          <title>demo app</title>
          <description>illustrates weird bug</description>
       </information>
       <resources>
          <j2se version="1.5+"/>
          <jar href="randomFile.jar"/>
          <property name="xxx" value="xxxx"/>
          <property name="swing.metalTheme" value="steel"/>
       </resources>
    </jnlp>The above file always fails with the error shown at the top of this message. However, if I remove either of the two properties, it works fine. And I have created other variations with lots of properties, some of which work. All of these variations are in the same directory in the war file, served by the exact same servlet (a slightly modified version of the jnlp.sample.servlet.JnlpDownloadServlet provided with JDK 1.6.0_3). Assuming that a no-cache header is the problem, what on earth could be causing some JNLP files to always be served with a no-cache header, while others are never served with a no-cache header?
    On a related note, any recommended debugging techniques for seeing what headers are being transmitted? I tried adding a simple check for a "debug=true" parameter in the servlet that causes it to set the content type to "text/plain" instead of JNLP, and that allows me to see (rather than execute) the JNLP XML that's being returned, but it doesn't show me the HTTP headers that are being sent back. If any caching headers are being set, I think it must be being set by the servlet container itself, as it's nothing being set in the servlet code that I can see. So I don't see any way on the server side Java code to output or log the actual HTTP response (or is there?). Any tips in that regard much appreciated.

    Hi Luca-Sanna,
    Thanks for the response. Re browsers, yes, it fails in IE but it succeeds in Firefox. The info on the JavaWS FAQ and other places all seem to indicate that it's an IE issue concerning handling of the cache-control headers.
    I should check in my webserver forum (Sun WebServer 7) to see about logging options. Sniffing on the client side is not possible, as my app is required to use HTTPS exclusively, and unfortunately that also precludes a telnet GET request.

  • Error lunching jar file

    I make a jar file
    then i lunch that jar with
    java -jar FileName.jar
    i have thi error
    Exception in thread "main" java.util.zip.ZipException: Accesso negato
    at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method)
    at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:105)
    at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:110)
    at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(JarFile.java:52)
    how i can resolve this problem?

    type in shell:
    jar -tf fileNametor.jar
    what do you see?
    I recommend for a project 'pro':
    x.y.pro.src
    x.y.pro.classes
    x.y.pro.docs
    compile the .java -files from src with destination ../classes
    cd src
    java -d ..\classes *.java
    then change to pro:
    cd ..
    from there
    jar -cf pro.jar -C ./classes
    -C folder will switch to folder folder and include recursively everything, e.g.
    it.prova.foo
    (it\prova\foo.class).
    It took me a long time to find out all those silly problems, but now I stick to the same folderstructure everytime, and use ant for the build.
    This took some aditional time, but with the same structure of folders I may reuse the build.xml (95% of it) and only type:
    ant jar
    ant bin
    ant docs
    ant backup
    wich saves a lot of time and nerves.
    Take care on the naming of windows - it prefers Capital names (It\Prova) which makes no difference to windows, but for jar, java, javac.
    Please give me some dukedollars :) if it works.

  • Maximum size for JAR files on Nokia 3120 Classic

    I am trying to download and install a java app for a Nokia 3120 classic, but when installing I get an error message telling me that the file is too big at 5.7mb.
    I can't find the maximum size of .jar files for this phone anywhere.
    Can anyone let me know what this is and whether there is any way to get the app to work.
    Many thanks.
    Alan Watson

    YES THERE IS A WAY!! I only got this information from someone else. Thanks for that person.
    Here are the steps:
    1. Download the jar file you want to install, to your computer. Now open My computer, and on the upper left corner you shall see a menu, click the "Tools" button and then click "Folder options..." A little window will appear. Click the "View" tab. On this window you need to find an option "Hide extentions for known file types" below "Advanced settings". Then unmark or uncheck the box.
    2. Now when you open my computer and go to the folder where you had downloaded the java file, the file name will read "(anyfilename).jar". HERE IS THE TRICK.
    3. Rename the last part of your file. Instead of .jar change it to .jpg so that it reads  "(anyfilename).jpg"
    4. Now copy the renamed file and paste it in your mobile's C: or Memory Card drive.
    5. Once you had pasted, rename the copied file back to what it was. i.e "(anyfilename).jar"
    BASICALLY the phone limits a file with a ".jar" extention, you can fool it by renaming the extention to ".jpg" and then once the file is copied into the phones C:drive you can change the extention back to ".jar" by renaming it.
    Share it. Hope it works for you! God bless...

  • How to read a certificate included in a jar-file???

    Hello,
    I have an application who connects via SSL to a JBoss server. Therefore I need a certificate on the client machine.
    Can I include a selfsigned certificate in the jar file which can be downloaded with webstart???
    If that's possible where can I find the certificate??? For now on my machine I use
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore","c:/Program Files/.../certificate.truststore");
    I suppose I have to change the path, but I have no idee to where???
    Thanks anyway
    Bart

    Write out the trust store to a file in the temp directory on the client machine when your application starts and instruct the java.net classes to use it by setting the system property just like you described.
    note.. I'm just guessing here

    I have a weird problem. I am trying to develop a simple application where I am trying to pass an excel file name as an argument to a method and the method creates a copy of the specified file. I have used jxl.jar for excel file manipulation. During this I have faced two problems.......

But if I close the command prompt window and open it again.... I could compile the CopyExcel.java succesfully with no error.

  • Instantiation Error in JAR file

    I have a Sybase database using jConnect-5_5.
    When I run the main class directly --
    java MainClass arguments
    -- it works fine.
    Then I try creating a JAR file. The manifest file reads:
    Main-Class: MainClass
    Class-Path: path to jconn2.jar
    But when I run it --
    java -jar jarfile arguments
    -- I get this error:
    Error instantiating class java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
    So what am I doing wrong?

    I'm not trying to invent anything -- it says
    "Class-path", right? So naturally I stick in the
    value of "CLASSPATH". Or I stick in the value that
    I'd put on the java "-classpath" command-line
    parameter, both of which will work perfectly with the
    same identical format. Why doesn't that make perfect
    sense? Other than the folks at Sun, for reasons of
    their own, chose not to do it that way?Sorry, I guess you must have skipped right past the example in the tutorial that showed the classpath entries separated by spaces. Not by colons. I don't know why Sun chose that, but since they did, that's the rule.
    So you're saying it's impossible to create a
    JAR file with a manifest file that points to a
    location which can be configured after the fact?It's almost impossible to update a JAR file in any way at all after you have created it, short of creating a new JAR file and copying everything from the old one to the new one.
    the only way to be assured that third-party
    tools are where we can find them is to include
    those tools with our product?
    That may not be the only way, but it's by far the easiest way. What were you planning to do, have a dialog asking the user to locate their version of those tools? And what if they don't have one? No, it's better just to distribute everything you need and install it all in the same directory. That's the industry-standard process for installing software.
