I tried it in Safari to make sure it wasn't a computer problem, but it works in Safari and in iPhoto.

Which functions do you want to perform with those gestures?
You can assign function to the related browser.gesture prefs on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Pinch open and close function not working after upgrade

I'm having trouble with the pinch open and close function on my trackpad. It was working fine until I installed the new Google upgrade and now it doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions. The other functions are working fine.

The Apple trackpad won't except the "pinch open and close" command on Firefox version 4. It is configured correctly in the system preferences. HELP!

Tried that and it still isn't working. Not sure if it's software thing but I just noticed when I swipe up my control center the flashlight option is not available as well. I'm not sure why this is. I have a 5s with the newest software. That's for the suggestion

Pinch open and close

Just got my MBP last week. Pinch open and close (to zoom in and out) works on pdfs, but not on photos in iPhoto. Am I doing something wrong? I have the box checked for it to work, obviously, since it works on the pdfs. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't work while viewing items in iPhoto, you can set 'screen zoom' in TrackPad prefs which will and sometimes that's handy.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Most people have no problems with installing firefox as an upgrade, but there are quite a few things that can cause problems. Please have a look at the articles

Post back after you read them and say what you tried. Have you ensured you used an admin account, possibly needing to check the UAC setting, and that security software is not blocking the changes. You should certainly try starting in firefox's [[safe mode]] either from a menu/icon option or by holding the shift key as you attempt to run firefox.

Pinch open and close zoom (mac) not working in latest beta update

Anybody know why pinch open close for the mac track pad suddenly does not zoom in the lastest beta update?

I am typing out easy instructions for those that are new to entering values. I myself am no expert for sure. It took me awhile to figure it out and I got it to work. I was mad when the pinch to zoom didn’t work after I updated. Thank you '''cor-el''' for posting a fix.
1. Go to a new tab, type in ''about:config'' hit enter
2. Click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button
3. Scroll down until you see “browser.gesture.pinch.in” right click on it and hit modify
4. A drop down that says “Enter string value” appears type in ''cmd_fullZoomReduce''
5. Click ok
Find the other ones and do the same. After you have entered all four you should see them in bold and on the right under value you should see only this cmd_fullZoomReduce part.
6.Once you have it all entered just close the tab and it should work.
I didn’t have to quit Firefox for it to work, but you may.
I’m using a MacBook Pro and it worked great, Hope this helps.

Having the main VI open and close another vi

Here is my problem I need help with.
I have a main VI, it has in it a DNET I/O assembly that is reading
inputs from a PLC, one of the inputs is connected to a key switch, when
that key is turned I want to open another VI then have that VI close
down when the switch is turned off. The problem I'm having is that once
the second VI is open the main VI does not run and the PLC data isn't
being read. Is it possible to have the main VI running in the
background?
Also the second VI cannot just be shutdown it need to write files to
the HD before closing, so it must accept a command to shut down and not
be forced.

Use the VI Server to launch the subVI. The subVI will need to have an internal loop that keeps running until some condition is met, be that a front panel "Stop", or it reading a global variable that tells it to stop. This global you can set via your main VI. You can check the examples that ship with LabVIEW. They show you how to use the VI Server to accomplish this. It's pretty straightforward. If you need more help ask and an example can be posted, but it's usually better to try it yourself first.
Note: When you launch the subVI just make sure you set the property "Wait for Completion" (or something like that) to be False.
