Since moving to Maverick and the new updated of Keynote, I have a constant problem when typing in a text box, the program crashes. Is there a bug fix for this. Drives me nuts. Like many who can type quite quickly but at secretarial level, the text box freezes, nothing works and you know what's coming...crash!
This is most annoying. Is there bug fixes for this. Apparently I have the current updates and this problem still exists. Is it a Maverick bug or Keynote.
BarryHow did you install Mavericks, as an update ontop of the previous OS or did you wipe the drive and install clean?

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).

To answer this you should of course try the latest Firefox 24.4 esr not the plain Firefox 24 from the Release channel. -
Aperture 3.0.1 - Fix the crashing bugs now Apple!
I'm coming from Aperture 2 and was so excited about the new brushes features that I had to buy version 3 straight away. What a mistake that was!
I can't run this version for more than about 5 mins (while using the new brushes feature) before the application becomes unresponsive or crashes out. At present I can only use the app as an expensive photo browser; no editing.
I've sent off all my automated crash reports and had a lengthy telephone call with the apple tech support, who admit there are issues. They essentially told me to turn off all the new features like faces and the location stuff (which I had done already & hey great I'm almost back to the Aperture 2 feature set). The only additional thing I was told to turn off was maintaining previews, but I still get crashes just the same.
Why was this software released in this state? Better late than harm the company reputation. I have a 1st class degree in micro electronics and have been a full time software developer myself for the past 20 years so I feel I know a fair bit about hardware & the software development cycle.
Version 3.0.1 does appear to stop the mouse pointer freezing & jumping around when using brushes, however I feel that it may be crashing more for me when the app inevitably goes off on one of its never ending "processing..." task cycles. I've captured a few samples of the app in this state using the activity monitor and sent them off to apple support as instructed. So hey do I get a wage for being an Aperture QA/tester? The free Lightroom Beta is better product than this official Apple release.
I've asked for my money back, but since I've opened the box & installed (which you have to do to find out that the software is not fit for purpose) they are not all that responsive to the idea. If the software is unusable even a month after it's first release then I think I have the right to recovering my hard earned cash. What do yo think? The forums are full of people with the exact same problems so I'm certainly not alone.
I fear the constant crashing and resetting is going to corrupt my computer's hard disk, so I am therefore no longer going to use the Aperture product until there is another and more stable release.
Hmm I thought I'd feel a little better after a rant, but nope still frustrated.My experience has been pretty good so far, but I felt I was lacking performance. I decided to up the game in my Mac Pro and installed a WD Velociraptor as a boot and app drive, and a WD 640 Black RAID-0 (two drives at the moment, a third going in soon) - boy is everything snappy and fast - even Aperture 3 is super-super responsive and quick now - love it.
However, since today, it keeps crashing. Most likely some damaged file as it keeps trying to load my "Greenland" pictures and somehow doesn't manage it. I've got about 10 seconds in which I can see and select other albums or folders, but I can not stop Aperture from processing the "Greenland" images. Does not matter if I run Aperture in 32 or 64bit mode and whether or not I boot into 32 or 64bit. Just now re-installed the 10.6.2 combo too, nothing is better...
It repeatedly crashes, only with this library, but hey, it's my main library and I'd like it to work so I can get rid of images I no longer need. I am so not doing any complete re-install so save those comments
Usually when one thing stops working, it's because something has changed in the system. I did install a USB "keyboard" in the form of a Belkin n55te, which I will now uninstall to see if it makes a difference.

* You changed the page that comes up after a crash - the one which shows the windows and pages that were up before the
crash.
This used to be a real HTML page and it isn't any more. THis choice was pure isiocy consider how peopel used that page every day (try taking to your users for a change).
The pages listed on that 'post crash page' used to be actual LINKS (you could right click them &
manually open them in another tab - and most peope DID that every day). You could also (and I did this a lot) drag a second
copy of the page, into a new tab (to keep track of all the pages I had not wanted to open)
Now the pages are no longer links. You cannot right-click them.
The thing in the probser is no longer a page that I can drag into a new tab.
Roll the version back and throw this one in the bin...and have a good long talk with your developers about the definition of
'STUPIDITIY'
Then I try to type anything in the addres bar it is suppose to repoond with the history of old things I have types in the past, or
search for what I type (and in some cases I think it tyes to convert it intoa URL). However it no longer does any of these
things. When I type in the ADDRESS BAR ONLY, I do not get all of my letters to appear. I have to type into a notepad or
into the search and to copy and paste to go to a URL. Nothing that is typed into the address bad responds normally at all
anymore, and I am fairly certain there are no new addons on this machine at all. It does not matter which things I disable. It
still does this. W of course points the finger back at a change to FIREFOX. I wich I could just sitct with one stable release
forever but the MOZILLA folk thing it is best to force peopel awy from a working broswer release to a horrible one (due to it
being out of date).
FIREFOX 26.0 has 'issues' (ie new *features*/bugs)
1) History is no longer accurate. My Proof? This machine is the primary one for the entire family (the only PC working). It is
logged in with same user every time and never has its history cleared. It now January 7 so I ought to have a list of all of last
months browing available to me.
However, according to FIREFOX history, in all of December 2013, the entire family only went to 51 primary URL's. None of
the official TV sites I use to get episodes are listed. None of the official movie sites I use are listed. The primary URL for
ebay is not listed. Only 1 out of our 4 weather sites that I use (at least once a week) are listed. Only 1 of our 3 FINANCE
sites is listed. There ought to be several; hundred root URLs listed.
Please fix history as this change seriously "blows greasy chunks"
PROBLEM (a stupid change in the new FIREFOX version)
FOr a long time, after a crash you got a useful page (a real HTML page) which gave you a list of all of your last sessions
'winwos and tabs' that were open when the browser crashed. there were certain ways of using this page that are no longer
able to be done.
The old method was wonderful as it had this behavior :
*** The old method for displaying your 'Recovered Tabs' allowed you to :
a) right click an individual item and open it in a tab without getting rid of that lovely window of your previous session of
'recovered windows and tabs '.
2) drag the URL for the entire window of 'recovered windows and tabs ' to a new tab (to make a second copy) so that you
could select just a few of them to open as a group, and stil have the old list handy.
You can no longer do either of these things. The 'recovered windows and tabs ' page no longer has links in it and can no longer be dragged, so you cant select a few of them to use, and keep the rest around for later. NOW - once you choose which pages to open the window is gone forever (can can't get a second copy).
People used to make a copy of the page for later use (with a drag)
we also used to open pages with a right click (which no longer functions
This new method seriously blows big greasy chunks. A parge loss in function has occurred.
Put things back as they were. 26 is full of terrible changes that NOBODY likes. It also has a lot of bugs (history is not reliable at all)(1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
(2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

* The "Firefox will" drop-down says Remember History: Firefox shouldn't be clearing history, but an add-on or external software could do it
* The "Firefox will" drop-down says Use custom settings for history: inspect the "Clear history when Firefox closes" setting to make Firefox isn't set to clear history. Also check your add-ons and consider external software.
Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored. -
Any fixes for the frequent crashing of apps in iOS 7.0.2?
Almost all my apps have crashed while I've been using them-even iBooks while I needed to be studying for an online course. Sometimes the app crashes over and over again when I'm trying to re-open it. Even the Music app has crashed on me and refused to work unless I changed a setting of the repeat function before it crashed again, which temporarily solved the problem. Any way to get these bugs fixed? Don't tell me govt shutdown and furloughs are screwing up my iPad and iPhone! I expected a working iOS, not a beta.

My Flash CC crashes all the time, it's always been doing it since when I started using it on CS4, and I've somewhat given up on this bug being fixed, it crashes at least 20-30 times every document I create. I'm using a Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen&Touch tablet and drawing a lot, I think the problem is that it can't handle this much drawing.
Anyways, it just crashed and for the first time after reopening I found this nice message from Flash:
"Adobe has found a solution or workaround for the recent crash in Adobe Flash CC.
Please click here for further details."
Excited, I clicked on it! At last, a solution! Amazing!
...but it just points to http://www.adobe.com/
... I don't understand.
What's happening? I'm genuinely puzzled.
Also, anybody else experiencing frequent crashes?

Ciao!Yes, this is not good -- you're already mad when it crashes, then "We found a solution!" But, for me clicking on the link does nothing - no link even to adobe, just a tease - nothing opens.
It's bad enough crashing a couple times a day and losing work (I do save every chance I get), but then to get taunted with this bogus message, it's discouraging and exactly the best 'user experience' for a really expensive product from company that is all about helping professionals create good design/user experience ..
I like the way this is headed though! it just doesn't work right now. -
Howcome every time I try to export Numbers doc to excel the program crashes?
I usually have no problem exporting files to excel format but every single time I try with this one the program crashes, I have tried moving the com.apple.iWork.Numbers.plist file to the desktop, tried sizing down my table in the file, all to no avail. Any other suggestions?
Duplicate the document and try removing content until it exports. It's probably a bug but thi may help you get passed this problem if you know what item is the problem. once you know remove the item and save the document, then try to add it back it.
Also try copying the remaing content and paste it into a new document then add the content you had to leave out. -

I'm trying to debug a kernel panic under Solaris 10 on sparcv9. I tried the SUNWscat 4.1 package but it core dumps on Solaris 10. I found a blog entry that described the problem and mentioned a version 4.2 fix. That was from May 2006, but I have not found any update sense then. Was 4.2 ever released or is their an alternative tool for Solaris 10 that I can use?One problem is that those of us who develop Solaris CAT do so as a "hobby" as it's not part of our actual jobs. But he good news is that management gave us the time to get a release out and 5.0 is now available here . We're now planning 6 month releases so we don't have a 5 year delay between updates.
BTW, the Solaris Crash Analysis Tool supports Solaris 10, OpenSolaris/Solaris Nevada, sparc, and x86/x64.
There are so many enhancements and bug fixes that I'd recommend reading the release notes (SUNWscat/docs/index.html).

I have a mac book pro running Lion 10.7.4 and every time I use Google Earth The computer crashes by lowering a black curtain and then asking me to hold the power button down until it closes and press the power button again to restart it. Can I fix this? It bugs me when I'm looking at real estate.
I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen. -

A hardware failure could cause applications to crash ??stack in respring during a safari work
its iPhone 4..all the time crashing ...any idea will be gladly accepted..
it is not jailbroken. it is not a recovery thing. . i did a clean Restore without a Restor from backup? Version 6.0.1 ... Is there anything hardware-based Wide that could cause such phenomena?? What element or antenna or chip can do this ?. I'm really desperate I have never met such a bug.

I ran into this Flash problem a week ago, and after checking
every forum on the web and trying every recomendation and reading
all information on this, it appears there may be a major Bug with
FLASH! By posting this I am making a last attempt at letting Adobe
representatives make a statement about what I call the "Flash9c.ocx
bug".
There is no problem with my computer (everything works fine
under Win XP SP2 / no virus / no adware / no spyware / no malware).
Here's the problem:
When I try to access certain flash pages (such as
WWW.MEETIC.COM as a member) Explorer 7 will simply crash and
provide a standard error message about the Flash9c.ocx
complementary module.
No matter how many times I install, uninstall Flash, the
problem just keeps comming back on certain pages. The pages
themselves are fine since I can access them from other computers.
The only certain thing is that Flash is the problem. After reading
about this bug all over the web it appears this bug has been around
for quite a while and there are many theories but no answers on it.
It affects many people on many sites and many of them are unable to
resolve it.
What is the official Abobe response on this issue?

topic which I now can't seem to find. Has it been deleted? One of
the Adobe guys was asking people to send specific URLs to him which
Adobe were going to check out. It now seems to have vanished, or I
am just not looking in the right place? I think it was the link in
the post above but that appears to have been deleted? Why?
It was a whole string of complaints (many in the past couple
of months) about browsers crashing as a result of using the latest
Flash Player.
The bug has been around for so long that the error message is
now Flash9e.ocx
Has Adobe done anything about everyone's browsers crashing?
Are there any fixes or workarounds? The site I'm using forces you
to download an ActiveX control that immediately updates the Flash
player to the latest version so you can't even roll back to a
legacy version to see if the problem is in the latest release. Does
anyone know anything about this? And any ideas where the whole
thread about it disappeared to?

PS I deleted my version of Flash, downloaded an older version
(9,0,47,0) and opened the site in Firefox. The problem's gone!!!!!
