The administrator doesn't work for my computer

I've never changed any information on my computer, but for whatever reason, my administrator password doesn't work - therefore, I cannot update anything! I've changed the password using the install disc, but it still didn't work. I have no idea what to do, and I want to avoid having to erase my harddrive and start over again. Any suggestions?

You could enable the root account then create a new administrator account.

Once you have enable the root account. Logoff your account.
Click on the blue apple icon > log out
This will bring up the logon screen. Enter root & your root password.
If you have trouble enabling the root account, you will have to use the sudo method in the first article. You will have to boot in single user mode. Hold down the command-s key when you poweron your machine. Follow the instructions that come up in single user mode to enable write access to the harddrive. Then, follow the instruction for enable root from the command line in the first article ( the third set of instructions ). You may not have to put sudo before the commands.
I have not tried this. It is what I got from reading the above pages.
Most people would advise disabling the root account once you are done with it.

    The SD Button in the Apple Store doesn't work whenever I click it for seasons of TV Shows seasons I have already downloaded from, it works perfectly fine for shows I haven't downloaded an episode from but not for shows I have downloaded anything from. I can click the button but it doesn't open up a new menu anyway and just stays on the HD menu, this is annoying because not only does it cost more for HD but it is a much larger download that I want.
    I have updated to the latest iTunes but this hasn't helped the problem, I am considering re-installing iTunes but will that mean that I have to download the other shows again before I can watch them? Or do they remain downloaded? Just because I don't want to spend a lot of data re-downloading everything I have already downloaded.

    Update: I've just figured out that the SD button doesn't work if the 'Buy Complete Season' button is blue, if it isn't blue then the menu can alternate between the HD and SD options easily but if it is blue then it won't switch between HD and SD. This is just getting weirder as I continue investigating...
    So it seems that if the button for buying the rest of the season is light blue then that means I can only purchase in HD? Is this a software issue?

    Oops, never mind. I'm happy to report this as a case of operator error, and I have downloaded the 1.8 version. And it is quite nice. I like it much better than the previous version.

    I am using MSI 925XE Neo Platinum Edition.
    I know that this motherboard can cater up to 4GB of 533/400.
    I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3.
    Problem is I have this 4 x 1GB 667. Using Everest and Crucial Memory Scanner, they detected that I have 4GB of memory.
    When I boot it up using this memories, it's giving me 2.75GB only in System Properties or 2.816 only in DXDIAG.
    I tried configuring my boot.ini with /3GB, but it still gives me the same.
    My BIOS Setting is 4-4-4-12. Memory hole is disabled.
    Under Cell Menu:
    DDR Frequency = DDR533
    CPU Clock = 200MHz
    DDR Volt = 1.8V
    PCI Volt = 1.5V
    I have 2 questions: (1) How to show in Windows that I have more than 3GB? and (2) How can I make full use of 4X1GB 667?
    Any tips of how to make this work is greatly appreciated. I've wasted 2 days researching, but I can get a good response.
    Btw, I have tested all 4 DIMM Slots and it's all working.

    The chipset has a 32bit/4 GB addressing limit, does not support memory remapping and certain areas of the 32bit/4GB address space have to be reserved for other devices/system functions and are therefore not usable for memory addressing.

    Hi, I'm trying to update Adobe Reader 10.1.4 on a 32-bit Windows XP SP3 computer to Adobe Reader 10.1.5. The Adobe Reader Updater downloaded the update but it tells me:
    "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
    It's looking for AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\ARM\Reader_10.0.1\ but it can't find it.
    Normally in a situation like this I could just download the offline installer, and as an enterprise user I want to do that anyway. Yet it appears there's no offline installers in ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.5/ like for example AdbeRdr1015_en_US.exe or AdbeRdr1015_en_US.msi. On Adobe's pages for both enterprise and home users it only offers 10.1.4 as the older version prior to 11, not 10.1.5 as one would expect.
    What's going on with this? Am I the only one who's noticed either of these things? I suppose on that one computer I'll have to download AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi and place it in that directory where the patch is looking for it.

    I'm not sure what you mean by an offline installer, but the available updates, the admin guide, and the release notes are all correct. 10.1.5 is an update (MSP). It is not a full installer. As stated in the doc, full installers are not always provided. Also, full installers or updates don't have any online dependency.
    You can install 10.1.5 over that last relevant msi/exe. That's 10.1.4 for some languages but usually 10.1.
    Alternatively, you can get a non-enterprise installer from the Reader Download Center. You can probably expand the exe to get to an MSI. That's an atypical route most enterprise admins have not found a need to travel.
    10.1.6 will also only be an MSP update.

    The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
    Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
    If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
    "Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
    You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.

    Open Activity monitor and see what's running under All Processes.
    Were you playing games when your Macbook is running on batteries?
    Did you turn off your bluetooth?
    Do you have anything hooked up to your usb ports?
    The above comments or questions factor in the way your battery last when using your Macbook under it's own power.

    as per the Report S_ALR_87012177 help  following below

    The average days in arrears are determined as follows: Every
    incoming payment in the periods concerned is multiplied by its days
    in arrears. These amounts are added together and then divided by the
    total amount from all the incoming payments. This process ensures
      that the days in arrears are weighted by the payment amount
    but for February month there are 9 payments on one customer  and when checked in FBL5N report
    there are no Arrears days on each payment document but in the report "customer history ' there showing  2 days as arrears under " payments with Cash discount .Arrears"
    User has doubt how this report is working to show the Arrears days
    Are there any Formula  , can you please advise me

    In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
    So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
    If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

    This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.
