The Adobe Application Manager failed to install

When I try to download an app, a new window opens and begins updating Adobe Application Manager.  Then I receive an error message stating "We've encountered the following issues: Adobe Application Manager failed to install"  Then Quit.  I also don't see the Creative Cloud installed on my system.  What am I missing?  Help!

  • Adobe Application Manager fails to install when I try to download CC

I have tried to download CC but keep getting the error messate that Adobe Application Manager fails to install. How can I download CC?

    For Windows 8, 64-bit,
I Renamed OOBE to OOBE_old located at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    I then relaunched the Browser
    I went to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
I Signed in with Adobe ID and password.
I clicked on the  download button but absolutely nothing was happening.
You will find below a video showing what happens when I click the download button when OOBE is not renamed.

I hope this bug will be fixed promptly because all my CC applications are now paid for a while and not yet presently accessible and useable.
I feel, in all fairness, until the problem is fixed, Adobe should provide a credit.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • CC Adobe Application Manager fails to install...

I just purchased Adobe CC (I'm a current CS6 Production Premium owner) and login in with my Adobe ID, attempted to download Adobe Photoshop CC and got the following error:
    Adobe Application Manager
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
My system is Windows7 64bit.  I looked thru my Windows7 event logs and NO errors are being shown.
I've attempted to contact "live chat support" but I appear to be on infinite "hold" with estimated wait that goes from 23 minutes to 22 minutes to 23 mintues to 22 minutes (has been doing this for 50 minutes now) -- I guess A LOT of people are having problems with CC.
I gotta say, my "introduction" to Adobe Creative Cloud has definitely NOT been a good one.  If I can't get a solution soon, I'll just get a refund on my CC Subscription and look for alternate "creative" software.  Not a happy customer.  I suspected this CC subscription approach was going to be problematic, and it is!

I finally got thru to live support and they resolved the issue.
    1.  Moved a file omp.db from AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE to desktop (it gets re-created later)
    2.  Tried to install AAM again from download center, it failed
    3.  Downloaded AAM to a local dir and extracted and "Run as administrator" on Setup.exe, it still failed.
    4.  Went to download center on web and tried to download AAM, click download button on web site and it opens AAM and I logged in ... most bizarre
I'm not really sure how or why this worked since the install still reported at Failed even when "Run as administrator", but AAM is working now and I was able to install other CC applications using it.
I'm almost 100% certain this is a security issue with Adobe's installer, somewhere in the chain something isn't getting/requesting elevated trust so when the installer tries to proceed it's hitting an OS security violation which is preventing the install.  So you might want to take this bug back to your CC developers and let them know they've got a trust/permissions problem with their installer.

  • Why does Adobe Application Manager fail to install?

I just subscribed to the Creative Cloud. I am trying to download applications.  The download starts with an update to Application Manager.  Each time, I get the error message,"We've encountered the following issues:  Adobe Application Manager failed to install."  I'm not able to install any of the CC applications.  [I've tried Acrobat and Photoshop.]

I'm going to write this information cause it was so darn frustrating and after two days I finally got it - so here goes - resolution:
I'm running windows 7, and was trying to download cloud which apparently I was forced to do based on my subscription base (was on CS6 before that)
Step 1: start task manager and close ALL adobe running apps including akami session
Step 2: click on the windows icon and type in search bar %appdata%, enter
Step 3: in browser bar above of folder, click on "appdata" (my file directory when i typed step two was C:\Users\study\AppData\Roaming, and I need to be be at C:\Users\study\AppData)
Step 4: Click Local, then Adobe, then oobe, delete the oobe file
Step 5: Go the the following to download the "cleaner tool": http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativecloud/cleanertool/win/Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Clea ner_Tool.zip
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\Users\study\Downloads\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for "english", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
Step 8: close the black window
Step 9: Click here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773  and download the creative cloud adobe application manager
    Step 10: Run the application
Step 11: Log in and download the software you want
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps.  I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever.  Each tech person gave me different information.  The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer.  If you need support click http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and I personally did the "chat" so I wouldn't have to wait.
Hope this helps anyone who hasn't figured it out!

  • Installing cs6 on a new laptop, I get error message "Adobe application manager failed to install"

installing cs6 on a new laptop, I get error message "Adobe application manager failed to install"
Is this because I need to deactivate cs5 on one of the computers?
CS5 is on 2 old computers. I used Migration Assistant to migrate the applications to the new laptop which is a 3rd computer.
What do I need to do?

I used Migration Assistant to migrate the applications to the new laptop which is a 3rd computer.
Forget that part. The apps won't work. Adobe apps must be installed properly. That may well explain your issues with CS6, too. Generalyl, though, there is no need to uninstall older versions...

  • Adobe application manager fails to update/install

Please help me resolve this error and update App Manger properly.
I have downloaded and am running Creative Cloud CS6 versions of Illustrator and Photoshop that I installed back in Decmember.  Now I'm trying to download more applications and am encountering this error:
I click 'download' on InDesign (for example)
Download initiates launch of Application manager, App manager opens main window then "initializing installer window"
Application manager flashes this warning for a split second: "other instances of adobe application manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product. Please close or wait for them to complete." (see image). This warning closes on its own after just a second.
Then it continues to install for a few minutes, asks for my password then fails with the message, "We've encountered the following issues, Adobe Application manager failed to install" (no error number, see image)
Photoshop and Illustrator still run fine, but none of my Adobe apps (including Air) will update properly now. I have tried deleting the App Manger files from applications > utilities and re-installing, but that also creates an error.
I have searched for duplicate app manager files but have come up empty.  I've run the support advisor app and it checks out fine.  I have a token from that if it helps.
I'm running iMac 10.6.8 and I also have CS5 installed on this computer if it makes a difference.
Any help would be appreciated.   I'd like to be able to run the apps I'm currently paying a monthly fee for.

  • What next? Photoshop CC download, Application Manager fails to install

I have Photoshop CS6 already installed.  I am trying to also install Photoshop CC.  I am running Windows 7, 64 bit.  I went to the CC download site, clicked on Photoshop download, and the Adobe Application Manager started to update.  After several minutes I received the following error message: We've encountered the following issues: Adobe Application Manager failed to install."
I tried this first using Chrome and then again using the Explorer browser.  Both failed.  What can I do next?!

    Rename OOBE to OOBE_old located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe (64bit)
    Relaunch the Browser
    Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Sign in with Adobe ID and password and download CC desktop app.
Note: In case it doesn't resolve the issue. Please revert the OOBE_old to original name.

  • The Adobe Application Manager Problem

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro is installed in my Windows 7 (64 bit) PC. It works. But The Adobe Application Manager is still installing. It won't quit. Looks like there is a problem in the installation.

These steps should resolve the issue:
Launch the Windows Task Manager and click on the button labeled "Show processes from all users". Ensure no invisible process by the name of PDApp.exe is running. If found, kill it. The alternative is to restart your machine. This will kill any running processes.
Reintall the Adobe Application Manager from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773 to ensure you have the latest version.

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!

  • Update Failed - You are already running the Adobe Application Manager....

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.4. When I try to update InDesign CC to the latest version, the Adobe Application Manager launches and give me the following error:
    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied
You are  already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates.
So, I quit the AAM, verify that it's not running in Activity Monitor and relaunch it... to get the same error message. I haven't found a solution online, so I'm hoping someone can help me get past this.

Rfahl have you tried rebooting and then applying the update again?  If so, and you still receive the same error, then you may want to try installing the update in Safe Boot mode.  You can find more details for starting up in Safe Boot at OS X Lion: Start up in safe mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4373.

  • Adobe Application Manager Failed Install - Mountain Lion

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and it caused some problems with using my Adobe Creative Suite. I deleted the Adobe Application Manager (after following some suggestions in forums) and I cannot seem to install it back.  It continues to show that the installation failed with the following message:
    We've encountered the following issues
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
I've downloaded Adobe Support Advisor but it doesn't tell me what the problem is.
Is the failed installation due to incompatibility with Mountain Lion?  If yes, does anyone have a work around?

Do you receive any specific error messages when you try to open the Adobe Application Manager?  Have you tried reinstalling the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.
