The Adobe Application Manager prompts me to restart the download

Photoshop took 6 hours on my internet connection which is horribly slow.   The problem is that if you have any trouble at all with the installation (like a file open you need to close) it RESTARTS THE DOWNLOAD.  Can't you just save the files on my disk?  Do you really have to start downloading all over again?  (A pause button would also be nice).

From Adobe Application Manager I wanted to download Photoshop CS6.  It says "install" but is actually downloading at first.  A couple of nice things would be an estimate of how long it will take rather than the % complete.  Another nice thing would be a "pause" button so you can pause and continue the download (common in almost all download managers these days).
So I had the Bridge open.  I got the error pop-up that says "Please close Bridge and Photoshop".  (Photoshop was not open, but okay).  It has the option to cancel or retry.  I closed the bridge and hit RETRY.
At this point the install indicator went back to 0 and in about 5 minutes it eeked up to 4%.  That's when I realized it would be downloading again.
So this needs to be remedied, but I also would love to have had a "Report a Bug" button on the web site that could take me to a screen where I could have typed this all in.  Much nicer, don't you think?

  • The Adobe Application Manager doesn't work, can't download trial software.

I'm on a Mac, trying to download a trial of Acrobat Pro X, and as I hit download, it launches the Adobe Application Manager. Once it's launched, it keeps spinning the blue-gray squares round and round and nothing happens. Is there a way to directly download the file and install it manually?
    Cheers,
    Rita

Ok, I tried and it has begun the installation.
The first time, before I got to the end, it said 'The Adobe Application Manager is already running.'
I was asked to quit, but there was no quit button, so I Force quitted it.
Then I started the installation process again, and now I get this error message:
The installation cannot proceed, because some of the processes are running.
Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
    I quit all Adobe products.
    Thanks for your attention.

  • Why is the Adobe Application Manager in a language other than English?

I'm not sure if I accidently chose the wrong option when setting up my account, but the Adobe Application Manager seems to have all the text (other than product names) in what I think is German, not English. Is there a way to fix that for future downloads if needed?
Everything else seems to be working fine though.
    Gracias.

    Thanks!
Unfortunately, there are no prefs to change. (At least not in the usual spot where Preferences are supposed to be on a Mac running Snow Leopard…)

  • Update Failed - You are already running the Adobe Application Manager....

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.4. When I try to update InDesign CC to the latest version, the Adobe Application Manager launches and give me the following error:
    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied
You are  already running the Adobe Application Manager. Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates.
So, I quit the AAM, verify that it's not running in Activity Monitor and relaunch it... to get the same error message. I haven't found a solution online, so I'm hoping someone can help me get past this.

Rfahl have you tried rebooting and then applying the update again?  If so, and you still receive the same error, then you may want to try installing the update in Safe Boot mode.  You can find more details for starting up in Safe Boot at OS X Lion: Start up in safe mode - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4373.

  • The Adobe Application Manager Problem

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro is installed in my Windows 7 (64 bit) PC. It works. But The Adobe Application Manager is still installing. It won't quit. Looks like there is a problem in the installation.

These steps should resolve the issue:
Launch the Windows Task Manager and click on the button labeled "Show processes from all users". Ensure no invisible process by the name of PDApp.exe is running. If found, kill it. The alternative is to restart your machine. This will kill any running processes.
Reintall the Adobe Application Manager from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773 to ensure you have the latest version.

Please utilize any available uninstallers that are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once all of the available uninstallers have been run you will then want to rerun the CC Cleaner Tool.  You can find directions on the use of the CC Cleaner Tool and a download link at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  After the CC Cleaner Tool is run then please reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application from Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop.
The CC Cleaner Tool is designed to be used after running the uninstallers.  Without running the uninstallers first then a complete removal may not be possible.

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!
