  • Navigation attribute in the Alert Monitor

    Hi All,
In the alert monitor in SAP APO the display table contains only characteristics and not the navigational attribute.
Is there any way through which we can display the navigational attribute also?
    Thanks,
    Diana

    Diana ,
This is how we handled it when we had a situation similar to yours. Since the navigational attribute was also a BW info object , we pulled the value for the navigational attribute to APO-BW  . We then put custom logic in the BAdI to pull data for the navigational attribute and display the same in the alert monitor.
Your ABAP team should be able to help you in putting the custom logic in the BAdI . To save the value to the info object you need to have an idea about APO-BW.
    Thanks

  • Alert Monitor Problem (Fields are Invisible)

    Hello All,
In SCM 4.0 we have written an User Exit to add own customer specific fields. It was working in SCM 4. Now after our upgrade we are not able to view our customer specific fields in the alert monitor. The BADI is still active and when I debugged the BADI everything (addition of field catlog and value population) seems to fine. Please let me know if any need to maintain any additional setting to make our fields visible in the alert monitor.
    Thanks,
    Siva.

I think something is still missing in your layout setting.  Display the alerts in the alert monitor . After that go to change layout (the layout icon is the second one to the left of delete icon). When you say change layout a popup screen will be displayed with 2 sections "displayed  columns" and  "column set". Pull the additional fields from the column set to the displayed columns section and save the layout. (SAP will ask for a custom name , and you cannot save a std layout. So u have to give a custom name). When this is done and the alerts are regenerated the additional fields should defenitely get displayed.
In case you dont see the additional fields in the column set itself ,then it means you do not have those characteristics in your system. You have to check RSD1 in that case.
    Thanks

    Hi Patrick,
in order for the data being correctly collected and displayed you
need to maintain TCOLL according to note
    #966309 - Contents of table TCOLL in SAP_BASIS 700
and schedule the job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR hourly in client
000 with the user DDIC or a user with the same authorizations.
You also need to schedule the job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP, since it is
needed to start tools and methods in the system monitoring area.
The job must be scheduled hourly (please also refer to notes #16083 and
    #939616).
Is there also no data under these nodes in RZ20 ?
Please check the steps listed under solution in note #819961, you may need to reset the data collection method.

  • Configuring the Alert monitoring of Solution Manager 4.0

    Dear all,
How can I notify from the central monitoring system when alerts happened?
I have already create and assign auto-reaction method to specific monitor attribute with alerts, but nothing happend. I even looked at the table CSMCENTOOL where the alert data suppose to stored, and the table is still empty.
I will be greatfull if anyone can provide me appropriate document in this matter, or guide me with a list of things that need to be done.
    Kind regards,
       Yagel

    Hi Kai,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I have already create and assign the central auto-reaction method exactly as in the example,
and when I try to start the auto-reaction method I receive the alert information "Cannot determine data for method DUMMY_TOLL_FOR_DOUBLEHOP".
I have overcome this alert information by changing the excute method of the <i>defined central auto-reaction</i> from <i>Only in central system, trigged by CCMS agents</i> to <i>Periodically in process(Short running program)</i>, and still, nothing notify when alert happened.
Should I configure the "Related Solution Manager configuration guides on SDN" which describe in the bottom blug as well?
I also didn't understand you when you say to send from SAP-System to another account?
    Thanks in advance,
    yagel.

  • Problem with alerts in the alert inbox

    Hi experts,
I have configured AE alerts and I wanted to display the Error details as in RWB in the alert as well. With the help of SDNers in the thread
    Alerts for JDBC adapter
I added SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT in the container.
Now, alerts are getting generated and I could see the value for error description in the report alrtdisp for the alert generated as:
    <i>java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/sap/workdir/output.txt (Permission denied (errno:13))</i>
but the alert in the alert inbox displays a blank in place of this description.
    any clues?

    Hi,
check the Alert catagory first,i odnt think u will not get the Alert discription if u get the Alert in Alert inbox.

  • Alert monitor in production

Hi Gurus I have the following questions regarding the alert profiles in production landscape and. Is there a way to transport the alert profiles from the AUD system.
Is it a good practice to make the alert monitors in the production system. i have made some excess do u think that I can delete them, because i think that doing this should not create any problems.
    Thanks

    Hi,
If you need to transport the aalert profile then go to the table /SAPAPO/AM_PSET. Pass the alert profile name in the SET_ID field. Then select the contents of the row in the table /SAPAPO/AM_PSET then click on Table Entry in the menu and select transport entries. (Menu Path : Table Entry -> Trasnport Entry)
Use the program /SAPAPO/AMON_REORG to delete the unwanted alerts.

  • In Alert Monitor - Is it possible to add Price or Cost as Column Value?

    Hey Folks
I am trying to define a methodology to manage and work on the exceptions in the Alert Monitor,
and I would like to carry on the ABC analysis based on Price or Cost?
The alert monitor was defined prior to my time on this latest project.
Would it be simple to add or difficult to link the price from values from whatever table they come from,
to show as column fields? so they ABC analysis can use that column as the Ratio one?
If anyone think this is feasible let me know.
    thanks for your feedback
    JD Loera

    Hello!
Awesome, thanks for the response, I will put that in my project list and will link with the Basis/ABAP team.
    Cheers!
Business Procees note to all out there in *APO DP Business Processes and Planning.*
If you use the alert monitor, as you know you can define there macro generated alerts and analyise through the variances from Target and Actual Values.
Also, you can still use the ABC analysis there, to identify A B C of the results that you get ( in the example above, % of variance )
However, from a Business Process bang for your buck and time. By adding the Material Cost or Price, the Demand Planner or SNP Planner can also do the ABC analysis based on the price as well, and really then identify the items with higher value to work with,as those are important to always keep in check. (ABC from the fiancial point of view so to speak)
Cheers all, worth to think about for your own Alert Monitor processes.

  • Alert monitor for messages in error status

Hi, it is possible to configure de Xi Alert Monitor to show in the message body the error that shows the message monitoring?
In the SOAP header when there is an error y can see a tag "error" and it shows this info (for example):
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="MAPPING">STARTUP_EXCEPTION</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>com.sap.aii.utilxi.prop.api.PropertiesException</SAP:P1>
<SAP:P2>Unable to read configuration data (ExchangeProfil~</SAP:P2>
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack>Error occurred while starting the Java application &quot;IntegrationServices&quot;; restart the application</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
It is a way to show any of this information in the message body that sends the Alert monitor?
    Regards.
    Mariano.

    Hi,
you will not be able to get the entire msg payload of SXMB_MONI in alert.
But you can create a alert category and in its Long text you can have variables for Error Category and Error Text. So you will get alert mails with Error category and Error Text.

  • ALERT MONITOR

    Hello
I have configured the Alert Monitor, Alert is triggered, the message comes on the external mail.
But I have 2 questions related to the Alert Monitor.
    1) Explain what the appointment of the following fields in the t-code ALRTCATDEF:
alrtcatdef -> Properties -> Max. No. of Dels
alrtcatdef -> Properties -> Expiry Time in Min.
If I understand correctly, these two parameters make it possible to limit the number sent to external e-mail messages to one Alert category for a specified period of time?
If so, I have this option does not work, it is ignored.
That is, point out in t-code ALRTCATDEF: 3 posts in 5 minutes. 10 generating error messages. I get 10 messages per mailbox.
(Error is generated by running a report, calling class PROXY, which obviously causes an error).
How to limit the number of outgoing messages to external mail Alert for one category for a specified period of time?
    2) When an error occurs in the JDBC adapter (eg: "ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into (" PI "." MY_TABLE "." FIELD_1 ")") can not get data from the container (t-code ALRTCATDEF):
    SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT (Data Type - CHAR70)
    SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES (Data Type - ALPF_STRING_TAB)
However, other containers, normally return their contents.
In t-code: alrtcatdef -> Long and Short Text -> Long Text (E-Mail, Fax) wrote the following:
    Error in Adapter Engine: &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT&.
Full text errors in Adapter Engine: &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES []&.
How can I put in an error message JDBC adapter?

I know and use, but it has many disadvantages.

The fact that SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES reflects more complete information about the error, I know. But I did not receive any information from SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT, and SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES.
Containers returns NULL, while the RWB in Message Monitoring error is displayed.

  • Alert Monitor Issue

    Hi APO Experts,
I have a Planning Book/Data View which has 4 macros generating standard status alerts for the same book/view under different situations. Now when i create an  over profile and an sdp profile for this book/dv and do the redetermine alerts after ruuning those macros in bg. Am not able to see all the alerts listed in the alert monitor even though scenario calls for the alerts to generated.
    PB/DV --XX
    Macro 1-- for KF1
    Macro 2 -- for KF2
    Macro 3--for KF3
    Macro 4--for KF4.
After running the macros in the bg, when i load the selection in the pb, even though i see that for all the kf values populated in the pb should have created the alerts. i am not able to see those in the alert monitor. Please help me , where i am missing the link in setting up the alerts for the same planning book/dv having multiple macros generating the alerts.
Kindly help me, as we r in the testing phase and am not able to find  a fix for this.
    Kind Regards,
    Sanjeev

    Hi,
First of all , Assign the SDP profile in the interactive planning book by the dropdown menu and check by running the macro in interactive planning book that whether the alerts are generated in interactive view.
If the alert are generated in interactive view , then the issue could be due to default macros not included in your backgtround running step. Include the default macros in the background job as the first step.
If the alerts are not generated in the interactive view itself, then check for below points:
    a) If the KF values fits into condition defined in alert macro ?
    b) Are the KF , alert condition and planning book / data view defined inside the alert step same as required. Sometimes if you copy the alert macro from other planning book / DV macro then inside the alert step , the pb/dv remains old.
    c) Are the PB/DV defind in alert profile same as required ? Is there any threshold maintained for alert ? Is the selection profile correctly maintained inside alert profile ?
I hope it should resolve your issue.
Let me know if it helps.
    Regards
    Gaurav

    Hi Vijay,
RZ20 Tcode is used for CCMS maintanence.
and to configure mails to alert you to know any errors in PC is done through setting up distributionlist in SO23, and create message using context menu from the process type in PC.
Check your mailbox and you a good document on this...

  • Add a custom alert monitor set in Central Reports of NWA 2004s

    Hi,
I installed recently netweaver administrator 2004s to use central monitoring. I created a new CCMS monitor set with RZ20 and was hoping to see this set in the Monitoring -> Central Reports view set of the NWA (drop down box with all the Alert monitor sets defined in the CEN), but it wasn't there. Is there a way to add custom alert monitor sets created with RZ20 in the Central Reports "View Set" of the NWA ?

  • Configuring Alert Monitor

    Hi Friends,
I have installed the Netweaver Full ABAP Preview edition in a WinXP system and trying to setup CCMS locally. Currently I don't see any data under the Alert Monitor(RZ20). I just see the tree elements but no monitors under them. What do I need to do to get data in the tree. Below are some of the steps that I have tried after reading some documentation
    1. Created CSMREG user
    2. Created CSMCONF file
    3. Tried to register the CCMS agent by executing sapccmsr.exe -R. But after I provide the password for CSMREG user the process quits with the below error
ERROR: Registration failed: Can't get version of NSP.C_CALL_FAILED. RFC Error Info for SALS_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO
Even tried with the command sapccmsr.exe -R pf=<path to the profile file> but it quits at once with the error Cannot open Monioting Segment 99 MoniSegmentSize too small
I believe the Netweaver Preview edition has all the CCMS agent installed.
Can someone please help me with setting up the Alert Monitor.

  • CCMS Operating System Alert Monitor for Filesystem

    Hi,
In alert monitor set for operating system, for some filesystems the freespace & percentage_used were showing zero and saying value is obsolete.
But those filesystem were existing with some space used in it.
How to make that particular filesystem alert to reflect the space which is used.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks
    Arun.

    Hi Sunny,
    Thanks for your quick response.
For OS file alerts oscol.ini is responsible. But i am getting the same prob with most of the alert monitor.
Those are collected the data some weeks ago. Not reflecting the current status.
Eg: CPU_Utilization Alert also showing last week date and showing the current utilization.
Is there any other program need to be run to get those alert monitor set to get update.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
