The Alphabetical Order On My iPod Is Messed!

The numbers are at the very end instead of at the top.
how can i change it back to normal.
and another question is i bought a bunch of videos when i first got my iPod and just recently i had to restore my iPod then shortly after i had to reinstall windows on my PC. so now all of my videos are gone.
is there any way i can get those videos back?

Numbers at the bottom are the new sort method.
See this -> iTunes 7.3: Changes in music sort order
*is there any way i can get those videos back?*
Put them back onto the computer from the backups you made before you formatted your hard drive.

  • The alphabetical order in my Ipod Touch is not followed

Hi, I just bought a new Ipod Touch 32Go because my old 8Go wasn't working anymore. And the problem with the new one is that it doesn't follow the alphabetical order of the songs or the artists name. For example,  when I'm looking for a track starting with a W, I've got to look in the X or the V. to find it. etc... The problem is not that the songs are not well named because the problem was not there with my old Ipod.  help.
    Thanks for your help.

I've found out by myself. I've tried everything, turn it off then on again. Re sync everything many times. Tried to go in the preferences. But the only thing that worked was to reset everything. Put the Ipod back to 0 and start all over again. I may have lost every data that I've been setting for the past days but at least now I can find the music I'm looking for in the correct alphabetical order
    Have yourself a good day.

  • I transferred my iPhoto FACES to my mini iPad and: (a) they are not in the alphabetical order I had them in, (b) some of the FACES have been deleted, (c) the EVENTS I checked off in iTunes do not all appear in the iPad?

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there.
Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A Finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache. Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • In my music i have lost the column right with the alphabetic order ... how can i get back ?

in my music i have lost the column right with the alphabetic order .. how can i get back ?

    Hello Camcam369,
It sounds like you are not seeing the alphabet listed on the right when perusing songs, artists, or albums in the Music app.  I recommend a couple of steps you can take to get it back.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPod touch:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the Music app, I recommend restarting your iPod and then resetting if it's still not working:
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPod touch:

  • How do i get to put my songs in alphabetical order on my iPod ?

I put my songs in alphabetical order on itunes, i sync the iPod but when i look on my iPod the songs are not in alphabetical order .. anyone can help ??

I'm pretty sure everything from the 'Songs' list on the iPod is automatically alphabetical. It's the same on all iPods as well. Maybe you have some other characters in front of the song name or perhaps you're looking at a song list through another list such as 'Artist' or 'Genre'?

  • How to disable the alphabetical order in lists in 8.5

I have just installed LabView 8.5.
I found that the lists of controls and globals are now ordered alphabetically in drop down boxes.
I was using the tabing order to regroup items corresponding to the same functions.
Is there an option to changed the order back to what it was before?
    Cheers
    Etienne

    Hi there,
This was an intended feature for the Local and Global variables.  We decided to implement this feature as an improvement to the usability of Local and Global variables in LabVIEW and I'm afraid that this is not a customizable feature.
You'll actually find that it is now possible to use the keyboard keys to skip to the appropriate local variable name in the list and if you have a very large list you can also use page up and page down.
However if you are utilizing the Local and Global variables this much you may want to reconsider your application architecture.  Local and Global variables are the main reasons for race conditions and problematic code.  I would consider other methods to pass data from one section of code to another.  For example, Functional Global variables.

  • Changing the song order in my ipod' playlist

I tried to change the order of my songs in the in ipod playlist,it show me in the itunes how I wanted but when I disconnect my ipod it still in same order. In itunes I can change the order the way I want to ,like I can show by Artist,Album, time or size. But this changes have no effect at all in the ipod which always keep the same order that it was: By album .

The "answer" to this question doesn't say anything. Of course, in theory, you "can" set the order, but it doesn't always work. Is this just faulty coding in the iTunes software, or is there some workaround? I have had this work occasionally, but not consistently. I have checked to make sure the "random" setting was off. I'm also at a lost, as is the original questioner.

  • My 5s doesnt have the alphabetical order in "songs" tab in music

I am using the 5s on ios 7.0.2 but however I dont have the alphabetical listing that "slider" thingy on my songs tab in music? Its an original stock software.
Does anyone have this same issue? It should be there isnt it?

Mine is there. Perhaps a reset would bring yours up: hold down home + sleep/wake buttons together until you see the apple, then let go.

  • Why do the songs in my playlist not appear in the same order on my ipod as i have them on the computer

When I arrange the songs on my ipod the way I want them, I disconnect my ipod from the computer and they are not in the order I created. Why does this keep happening--it makes me insane.  I have tried clicking "manually manage" vs. "not manually manage" and neither works.

Sort by Date Added instead of Date Modified.
The Date Modified can change itself for a bunch of reasons, which are not really interesting. The Date Added is stable and more meaningful.

  • Error in the alphabetic order?

Hello. I'm a huge Glee fan, and I have all the CDs that I ripped from my physical CDs.
Well, my iTunes ir ordered by Artist and inside it, by title.
    So, the order must be:
Glee: The Music, Best of Season One
Glee: The Music, Journey To Regionals - EP
Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album
Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna - EP
Glee: The Music, The Rocky Horror Glee Show
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 1
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 2
Glee: The Music, Vol. 3 - Showstoppers (Deluxe Edition)
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 4
but the vol. 2 don't stay between the 1 and the 3, it stays before it all, like this:
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 2
Glee: The Music, Best of Season One
Glee: The Music, Journey To Regionals - EP
Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album
Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna - EP
Glee: The Music, The Rocky Horror Glee Show
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 1
Glee: The Music, Vol. 3 - Showstoppers (Deluxe Edition)
    Glee: The Music, Vol. 4
and nothing that I do fix it.
Someone know why it don't stay in the right place?

Did you copy that information and paste it or type it into the composer field? itunes can be very particular, even if a different font is used.
Select the tracks in the album, get info on the tracks and try typing in the album name again. Sometimes that works.
Possibly a slow reply because you didn't flag it as a question.

  • My alphabetical order in the music app is messed up. Is there a way to fix it?

The songs are grouped by their first letter, but inside each letter it's like it starts the alphabetical order fine and after a random song it's start another alphabetical order from the beginning with other songs instead of sorting all the songs in that group in one alphabetical order.

Your warranty is actually one year - the 90-days is only for free telephone support - but the warranty would not cover damage due to the iPad being dropped. I doubt there's anything you can do to fix the rocker, so you'll probably need to pay to get the iPad exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third party repair service).
    Regards.

  • Why is my iPod Touch messing up the music library?

    Hello,
My iPod Touch is having weird issues with the Music library. I think it started in 5.0.1 but it may have been from 5.0, I'm not too sure about it.
    Problem description:
My problem is that my Artist list is corrupt, and my Album list as well. Let me give an example.
Artist list, Alphabetally according to my iPod:
    I
    Iron Maiden
    Jurk
    J
    Incubus
    Jamiroquai
    K
    Linkin Park
    L
    Liquido
    Kamelot
As you can see, these artists aren't properly sorted alphabetically. I've tried looking at the Info on those files but my iTunes on my iMac shows the proper order just fine, it's the iPod that's messing up. Also my albums seems to be able to appear under different bandnames, sometimes the full album but sometimes only a couple of songs.
What have I tried so far?
I've tried resetting its settings by going into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset settings. All that did was messing up my library even more. I had about 18 GB's of music on the iPod but my library suddenly showed only about 25% of that. When I checked the content via Settings -> General -> Info (or About?) it said I had only abou 2 GB's of music on it. However, when I connected the iPod to my iMac, my iTunes told me I still had all 18 GB's on the iPod.
I've tried removing music from the iPod-iTunes sync, and adding it after a sync. Although this did make an artist re-appear, it seemed to mess up the library even more.
I've just tried restoring the iPod. It's been cleared entirely, and then I re-sync'd all my 18 GB's of music and a couple of apps. However, now the library is messed up as previously mentioned.
    What am I looking for?
Any advice of tips on how to correct my music library. The alphabetical-order-that's-messed-up is only a minor issue because they're still there, it just annoys me that it's not the way it should be. The albums that are messed up between bands is more annoying because now I can't properly play full albums.
Thank you for reading this rather long message, and hopefully you can help me out.
    Kind regards,
    Roald

    Hey, Roald.
I'm not entirely sure this will help your problem, but since it sounded a lot like my own issue, I thought I'd mention it -- just in case.
I updated my ipod recently to iOS5 and just noticed that some of my artists were messed up -- not necessarily listed under the wrong letter, but some were repeated in both English (as I have them in iTunes) and in Japanese, elsewhere in my music list, which was completely surprising. It also made some of my music show up under completely different names, like the composer instead of the soundtrack, etc. I searched iTunes, in the preferences, and the syncing screen, looking for some sort of setting -- but found nothing.
Eventually, I checked my ipod's actual settings for the 'music' app. There's a setting there that says something like 'sort by album artists', which appeared to have been switched on automatically with the OS update. I flicked it to off and restarted the ipod -- and the ipod's issues were fixed. :3
I don't know if this might be a solution to your problem, but try it anyway! I hope it helps.

  • ITunes on iphone/ipod -- Artists no longer in Alphabetical Order(!)

    Help!
I recently updated my itunes library on both my iphone and my ipad.  I used seperate itunes libraries (hosted on the same Windows computer) in order to have  a larger "master" library on my ipad since it has more memory.  I did this via using the "depress the shift key while starting itunes" trick to select the library for each device.  That all seems to have worked just fine - I got the library I wanted synced with each device.
Unfortunately, the alphabetical order of the Artists is only "mostly" correct.  As an example, under J, I see:
    Howlin' Wolf
    Humble Pie
    David Bromberg
    J.J. Cale
    James Brown
and the rest of the J's.  Likewise, when I look at the K's, it starts off with J's and a few other seemingly random artists, before getting into the Ks.
How do I get the system to re-alphabetize my library???
    Help!!!

Seems like a bug that I hope Apple can fix soon.  Does anyone from Apple scan these boards?
