I have a new IMac, purchased from my Dad that he never used. I just did the latest update to 10.6.8. I wanted to get "Numbers" on the computer from the App Store but it says I need 10.7.4. How do I get this? Everytime I try update it goes to 10.6.8. I am new to Apple and struggling a bit.
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, you must install the DVD version of iWork. If you previously got a compatible version of Numbers from the Mac App Store, go to its home page and click on Support under Quick Links.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, try purchasing Mac OS X 10.8 from the Mac App Store. If you get told that it's incompatible, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for 10.7.
If upgrading to 10.7 or 10.8 requires any other upgrades or replacements(they both require at least 2GB RAM and don't support PowerPC-only software such as Office 2004), it may be cheaper to buy and install the DVD version of iWork even if your computer can be upgraded to use the Mac App Store version.

Not possible to delete any apps included with iOS, and the App Store app is included.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

I accidentally deleted the app store icon on my phone and can't figure out how to download it back on to my phone
Default apps are part of the iOS and cannot be deleted. Search all home screens and all folders and/or search for it with Spotlight, that will tell you what folder it's in.
Also check Settings > General > Restrictions to see if it has been restricted.
If not found, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. -
When my hard drive was replaced by Apple, I had to re-install iTunes myself. Then I noticed that there was a question mark on my dock where the App Store Icon was supposed to be. I did a software update, and now the question mark is gone. How do I get the App Store Icon back on my dock?
Locate it in the Apps folder and drag it to the dock.

I need help please. I have 6 apps updates shown on on the upper right corner of the app store icon. When i tried to open the apps store and go to updates, the apps that need to be updated were not appearing therefore i have no idea what those apps are so that i can update them. Is the address on your account based in France ? The language of the stores should reflect the language of the country where your account is based, which isn't necessarily the same language as you've set on the device.
If your account isn't based in a French spealing country, then try logging out of the account (via Settings > Store) and then log back in (and also make sure that your address is correct and complete), and see if the language of the iTunes and App Store the reflect the language of the country where your account is based. -
Somehow my three year old managed to delete the Apps store icon.

ThanksYou cannot lock apps. You can restrict the deletion and installation of apps in restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions - take at look at the options.
If you have restrictions enabled, maybe that is why the app store icon is not appearing.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for it as well. -
I downloaded IOS6 and all of my app icons, including the App Store icon disappeared. Now to use an icon, I have to go to Passport and click on the App Store button at the bottom and search through all of the apps to find the one I want and then click on Open. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete the app and start over.

It sounds like the application you are looking for is indeed still on your iPhone. You can confirm this by searching in the Spotlight Search for this application. It may have accidentally been moved to a folder, or an additional Home screen:

How do you remove the "purchased" items in the "not on this iPhone" tab in the app store icon?
I want to permanently remove old deleted apps from the "purchased" list in the update section of the app store icon on my iPhone. These are apps that I tried and didn't like or didn't work or were useless or whatever. There does not seem to be any logical reason to keep a record or history of them around since they would not have been deleted if I still wanted them. This is a waste of resources on the iPhone, iTunes and my efforts.

You cannot.

It is a history of ALL purchases.
People would be complaining that they mistakenly deleted it and now could never get their app back. The entire point is to have access to any and all past purchases.

The App Store app cannot be deleted (it also can't be downloaded and isn't part of any backup, so ignore the other comment) so either she moved it to another home screen, dropped it into a folder, or turn off "Installing Apps" in the General/Restrictions settings.
If you check Restrictions and Installing Apps is turned on and you can't find the App Store app otherwise, you can go to the General/Reset area and reset the Home Screen Layout. That should get it back.
