The App Store will not update my apps. I keep getting An error occurred while downloading the updates.(102) What could resolve this issue?
My App Store is no longer updating my apps or my OS. I keep getting this message: An error occurred while downloading the updates.(102) What could be the reason for this issue and what will resolve it?
I believe its an auth error. If you tried signing in and out of the app store and downloading a free app (typical fixes) and it persists, try downloading the updates manually. If youre trying to get the Mountain Lion updates the link for 10.8.1 is here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1571 and if you already have 10.8.1 and youre trying to update to 10.8.2 the link is here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1580 a supplemental update came for the 10.8.2 which can be found here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1600
Like I said before, the error isnt that your software or hard drive is corrupt, it has to do with your AppleID authenticating the download, especially because OS updates are part of the Mac App Store. If you know your way around your system libraries or root libraries you can possibly fix it by deleting specific files that may be corrupted, otherwise you're going to want to back up your data and reinstall the OS.
Good luck!

Why do i keep getting "an error occurred while preparing the installation of Mavericks?
Greetings all,
I've been trying to install Mavericks on my mid-2007 24 in iMac. I have plenty of hard drive space and I've downloaded Mavericks several times. Every time I try to install it, I keep getting the 'An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.' message. I've run disk utility several times and verified the disk; repartitioned the drive and created a clean partition and tried to install on the new partition- same result. And I've even tried installing on an external drive- again no luck. I've been running Mountain Lion since it came out without a problem, so anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.Try booting into the Safe Mode and installing Yosemite there.

while the wifi is working normally, and i updated my ipod and it worked normally.
I think i have a problem with my iphone..
Please helpe to solve this issue.
Thank you.Something temporarily wrong with your internet connection?
Be aware that this is a very large file to download, it needs a strong consistent internet connection.
Have the iPhone on the charger cable too.
In the meantime read the threads in this forum about the visibility item and some other possible issues on the 4 and 4S (although a large number of people have these issues, it is still a minor percentage, but anyhow, be aware). -

i tried updating my airport utility app on my iphone and ipad when it updated it updated the airport extreme okay, but the airport express keeps showing a message that reads error occurred while downloading the firmware it shows it downloading and then reads preparing and then the error message comes up. can anyone explain o me how to fix this thankyou
Do you kow if I can I use the AirPort Extreem directly from the ethernet cable coming into the house?
Is that an Ethernet cable, or is that a phone cable? The AirPort Extreme does not have a modem on board, so you must use a separate modem with the Extreme.

An error occurred while downloading the firmware
I have several AirPort's in my home network that have available firmware updates, according to the Airport Utility version 6.3.2 of my iMac (running Mavericks), but cannot update them because I keep getting an error saying "An error occurred while downloading the firmware". Needless to say that my iMac, and my home network, have an active and very decent Internet connectivity.
My Time Capsule has firmware version 7.7.2 and an AirPort Express has firmware version 7.6.3. I have another Airport Express running with version 7.6.4 that does not needs an update. Every time that I try to update the AirPort devices that report an available update I keep getting the same download firmware error message. This has been going on for days. How can I update these two AirPort devices, or fix my AirPort Utility?
In the directory /Users/me/Library/Application Support/Apple/Airport/Firmware there is a file called version.xml. If I rename it, and restart the AirPort Utility, my AirPort devices would not report an available firmware upgrade. I tried resetting both AirPort devices and trying to re-update the firmware but keep getting the same error message. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Are you behind a firewall or double NAT??
What is the device that is immediately plugged into the main modem or router? Has that one been able to update?
It is plugged in of course isn't it.. no nasty join wireless anywhere??
The best way to work around these sort of problems is to simplify the network.. Plug each device directly into the main router.. by ethernet. You can trigger the firmware upgrade by wireless but use ipad or iphone version of airport utility and see what happens. -
Mac App store will not allow me to sign in so I can't purchase or update app's...it has worked before? I have done all updates for Mac...
Do you not see the sign in sheet?
Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before trying to access the App Store.
If you have Litlte Snich installed, that can prevent access to the App Store.
Keep in mind, you can't update your existing apps from another Apple ID if you create a new account. -

I wanted to restore my new Macbook Air (over the web).. using a new apple ID instead of the old one I originally used when I bought the computer from the apple store a month ago. By doing that, everything worked, but the iLife programs that originally came with it shows in the app store as "ACCEPT". When I try to accept them... it says they are assigned to another ID.. you must repurchase them for this ID.
I have no problem if I have to repurchase. I just can't find anywhere to do that. No matter what I do, I can only "ACCEPT".. which as I said earlier - don't work.

App Store will not Install compatible apps for older iOS versions.
Note to Apple, fix the App store so we can install a compatible version of an app for older iOS versions.
My iPad 1 maxed out at iOS 5.1.1. If I want to install a new app with this device ( one I have not ever installed), and the latest app says iOS 7 and above, ithe app store won't let me install an older compatible version, even if older versions used to be previously available .
I think Apple is trying to convince me to buy a Galaxy Tab for my next tablet. They are basically telling me to throw away my old iPad because it is no longer compatible with the newest iOS version 7 on the app store. You want that new app? If the latest version is only ios7 compatible, you're outta luck sukka.
<Edited by Host>We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. Whether an older version of an app is available depends upon the developer.

my macbook 13" i just got in. Says i need to update and download the apple loops.
Error 102 keeps coming up.
Ive tried restarting the computer and everything...and i have the internet pages closed and have full internet reception.
HELP???It might be a transitory problem with too much traffic at the AppStore. Try again later.
Or you may have firewalls or Antivirus filters interfering, or other non-standard start-up items and preferences panes. If the error persists, boot into Safe Mode and try to update in this mode, see:
Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
This will prevent non-standard start-up items, kernel extensions, etc from being loaded and interfering. -
