The application level multicast and VoD/LiveTV application

Hi,
As I read from the document, so far only user's video published out from a Flash Player 10.1 could take advantage of the new application level multicast. But can other video applications scenarios, such as VoD and Live TV (encoded by Flash Live Media Encoder) , also take advantage of this new feature? Please advise. Thanks.

I want to make the Top-level Navigation and the Content Area in the one page as a whole displayed in user interface.In the default framework,the Top-level Navigation and the Content Area were contained in 2 pages, So the vertical scroll bar could only control the Content Area. I want to control the full page with one vertical bar like the page of "www.sdn.sap.com" Web.

One advantage of the external facing portal solution (SP14) is that the framework page is displayed in a single frame. Perhaps this could be of use to you.

Difference between Application-level multicast and peer-assisted network?

The simplest application level multicast is done through
someone.publish("xxx") to a netGroup -----> FMS rtmfp url -----> all players connected to the same netGroup and play from a netstream
In peer-assisted networking,
they ask for wantObjects and addHaveObjects. I wonder if in app. level multicast, these peers also ask for Objects?
If so, how do they know the index of Objects?
A live streaming from webcam doesn't have an ending index.
Do they just keep asking for all objects starting from 0 ~ MAX_VALUE?

"peer-assisted networking" refers to all P2P modes of RTMFP Groups (P2P multicast, object replication, directed routing, and posting).
NetStream.publish()/play() on a group NetStream is the P2P multicast mode. under the covers quite a lot of fancy advertising, fetching, pushing, and tuning is going on all automatically. multicast is always for live, continuous content, and all members of the group share approximately the same sliding window of stream fragments at any instant of time. the size of the window is controlled by NetStream.multicastWindowDuration. each member tries to get all the fragments in the current window. members share information about the fragments in the window with each other. P2P multicast is designed and optimized for a small number of publishers in a group sending continuous-form live media to all members in a limited amount of time.
the wantObjects/haveObjects NetGroup calls are for the "object replication" mode. here the objects and index numbers are under direct ActionScript control, and the intent is that each member should eventually have every object, no matter how long that takes. object replication is designed for mesh-wide reliable consensus on a set of objects with all semantics of content and origin left to the ActionScript developer.
posting is kind of like a multicast of a single message. it is designed and optimized for a large number of senders infrequently sending single messages to all members.
directed routing can be used for, among other things, creating distributed hash tables (DHTs) and is a complex subject.

How do I create a LLB that includes the top level VI and all SubVis for LabVIEW 8.0.1?

I've searched the boards, and I have not found a solution for creating
a LLB with all subVIs for LabVIEW 8.0.1. I've seen the answer to
use Save With Options. I haven't been able to locate this.
I'm not too familiar with all of LabVIEWs options, so I greatly
appreciate any help that can be offered on this.

You can do Save As... and then go to Duplicate Hierarchy to new location and then under Packiging options, select custom and then check the box that says save as llb.
Yo u can also specifiy the loaction of the files in this screen.

Why does the application built executable run slower than my developement lib.

The Response given was LabView 5.0.1.f1 specific. Iam however, using LabView 6.i. The Application runs approximatley 3 to 40 times slower than the developement library. Additionally the Write to spreadsheet data is corrupted when using the application executable. Is there a different solution for 6.i ????

That does not sound right. I recommend rebuilding your VI. Beore you do, open the top level VI and press contol-shift-run arrow to perform a manual binary recompile. This makes LabVIEW recompile the whole code. Most times you will not see anything happen but occasionally an error will surface. Be sure to save the VI then rebuild it.
You may also need to reinstall the LabVIEW run time engine and/or LabVIEW. I would start with the run time engine first.

What are the iTunes digital audio levels in and out

I am having a lot of trouble with finding out and setting the audio levels in and out of iTunes.
Digital audio has 16bits at '1' with an analog signal level of +12dB, 24bit has all'1's at +18dB. Making the overhead capability for CD 16bit 12dB and that for HD 24bit 18dB.
I would like to record (using SoundStudio) a set of standard audio tones from 20-20kHz with digital levels of "all 1's" 16bit, or +12 dB analog level, "all 1's" 24bit ditto, and the same for levels of analog 0dB (-12dB digital) for 16bit and 0dB(-18dB digital) for 24bit.
What I am finding is that if I get Sound Studio to inert a tone at what it calls 0dB, save it as AIFF, then the output it from iTunes I get a much higher level, around +8dB or so!
Any ideas?

As an addition to my first question. I asked the makers of Sound Studio about levels. They tell me that the Mac standard is to have all '1's in the digital stream defined as 0dB.
Which helps as I can now record a tone at the CD level of -12dB and the HD audio level of -18dB. And if I make recordings I know to keep the input levels well into the green, not yellow and definitely not up to the red.
As you say the output of iTunes is boosted, and from my measurements this boost is in the analog circuitry and is about +8dB.
I woul dnot recommend turing down the iTunes volume control as this brings in the digital volume reduction, which depends on the algorithm they have implemented. This is not so bad for iTunes as the Audio Core software works at 32bit and can handle 16bit volume changes fairly well. But on the iPad it is different as iOS is only 16bit audio so the volume algorithm is poor. So always leave the volume at maximum and turn down your HiFi volume control!
Or use a digital output to an external DAC as the iTunes volume control is then disabled. Set Audio MIDI for 24bit output and you are ready to go with HD Audio.

finest is the highest level logging and can either be turned on for all logs or just specific logs within the Enterprise manager.

Show a menu of roles in the Top Level Navigation

Hello,
Imagine a scenario where a user has many roles assigned to him (say 40 roles). In that case the user will have 40 tabs in the first level of the top level navigation and by default a horizontal scroller appears on the right part of the screen clicking on which the roles will scroll horizontally. If the user has to go to the 40th role he has to click quite a lot.
Is it possible to have a menu option clciking on which we get the all the list of roles in the top level navigation in a vertical list and we can directly jump to any role clicking on the entry in the list ?
Something like what we get in a tab strip in Web Dynpro.

You need to work on navigation tag libraries to extend number of levels .

Custom Drill from the last level of Hierarchy

I have a dimension hierarchy STAGE which has five levels L1 -> L2 -> L3 -> L4 -> L5
and my fact table have 5 measure columns say M1 , M2 , M3 , M4 , M5 along with the dimension columns .
My requiremetn is to show only the top level hierarchy and one measure column initially:
L1 -- M1
now user have to drill from L1 to L5
L1 L2 M1
L1 L2L3-- M1
L1 L2L3--L4-- M1
L1 L2L3--L4--L5-- M1
by default when the user comes at the last level of hierarchy or the hyperlink to drill futrter gets disabled.
Now my requirement is to show the detail report when the user comes at the last level and the there should be a link on it. when the user will clink on the last level link it should open below report :
L1 L2L3--L4--L5--D1--D2--D3--D4--D5--M1--M2--M3--M4--M5
D1-D5 are other dimension columns which are connected to Fact Table.
Any suggestions??

Have header level field (conversion rate) I want to use in calculation with a field in table (transaction currency). I can get my variable using

Agents configuration for the top level Organization

I was experimenting with this feature and was wondering if it works. I have an IIS 6.0 policy agent installed and it is working correctly. I added a new agent for the top level org and set the name, password to the amldapuser password, and agentRootURL key value. I then edited the AMAgent.properties file of the IIS 6.0 policy agent and changed the com.sun.am.policy.am.username to the one I created. Upon restart the policy agent could not authenticate. I then set the am.password the clear text password and got the same result. Has anyone got this to work?
