The application Pages won't open on my mac?

When i click on the application pages nothing happens. I tryed double clicking and the only option I'm given is to remove it from the dock. I tryed downloading douments from online, and then opening them, but it wouldn't open. What happened? How do I fix it?

Check that it actually exists in your Applications folder. The icon on the Dock is only an alias pointing to the original appliaction.
What version and release of Pages?
What version of OSX?
How did you buy and install it?
