The application server is getting down

Hi all,
Installed demo of FSCM9.1 on windows-2008R2.The machine has also a system DB of the same FSCM9.1.All the three components are on the same machine.Configured application server(with large template),web server.Iam able to login to PIA successfully.But, after few minutes iam automatically signed off when iam accessing the application and iam getting the error"The application server is down".I want to tell you that my PT was on 8.51.08 before installing the demo database i.e.My PT was patched soon after the installation of system DB.So, my doubt is that whether i have to run some scripts from the patch document on the Demo DB installation?Pls help.Thanks in advance.

I got this fixed.The action plan was to use a different web profile other than the default(PROD) during the installation of PIA.

Hi everyone,
Just yesterday, I installed the agent on a server that is running Oracle Forms and Reports Servers. In OEM, it shows that "The Application server instance is down", but when I go to the main screen for this OAS, all of the components are up. I wish I could include a screenshot to show you, but it looks like I can't.
What could be causing this? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

I am getting the following error message when I try to access PeopleSoft via PIA:
"The application server is down at this time.
CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF: bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session"
1. In configuration.properties file, PTWEBSERVER password is encrypted, the userID is not locked-out, even the table PSOPRDEFN says the password is encrypted
2. I tried using IP address and computer name in configuration.properties file, both the ways I am not able to resolve the issue
If you have any ideas please let me know.

Might sound silly , but stop webserver and appserver . Boot appserver , boot webserver using startpia.cmd to see if webserver can communicate with appserver.

Hi ram,
if you have more than one application server running in your BI system (see at transaction SM51) be aware that your infopackage will be executed on the right one. Each application server has its own file system and your job need to run on the server your file is stored on.
Also check if the os user of the SAP system itself (<sid>adm on Unix) has rights to read that file.

Secure the password of the schema in the application server

Hi,
my application is using one schema, and the users are stored in a table within that schema. When the user run the application, the schema password is not required since it is stored in formsweb.cfg file as userid=username/password@servicename. the problem with this, is that anyone is able to know the schema password by opening the formsweb.cfg.
is there any way to make the password invisible in the application server ?

My question is:
The file in the application server consists of data with header, detail and trail out of which the detail contains the main information. The detail again contains the data in the form of a continuous string and again some spaces corresponding to a single record. I need to split the data in the internal table in such a way so that the first few characters get into field-1 of the target internal table. Again I need to consider the spaces for accessing the data for filling up in field-2. How do I decide on the 'Split' statement and specially when the whole string has to be taken care of as contatining data in a single string format without space and again some data after some spaces corresponding to a single record.

F4 help for file path in the Application server

Hi All,
i want to provide the F4 help so as to enable us to give the file path in the application server (AL11). I'm in version 4.0

ABAP Code for Backup the entire table data in the application server

Hello Friends,
I have to create the table data Backup and Store the entire table data in the application server and also be able to restore the data back if needed.
this should be dynamic program for any table based on the table name given on the application server.. I have developed a program for this but its having problems with the Quantity, amount. Its not writing it correctly at the application level.
ANy Suggestions on this.

ABAP Trial version u2013 starting the application server

Hi,
I have a problem starting the application server via the management console. After choosing action ->start I have to enter user and password. Do I have to create a new user password combination, use the OS password or try bcuser and minisap? None of these three options worked out. I always get the message 'Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials'. Or went there something wrong during the installation?

Hey Birgit,
In my case I installed ABAP Trial version (also known as MiniSap) on my local machine (Windows).
When I turn on the machine, my Windows(OS) requires a User/Password (It was configured this way but it is possible you configure to not require a User/Password, it uses a default).
When I instaled the ABAP Trial version, I logged on with a User/Password with administrator rights (it is necessary for installation).
When, in the "Management Console", I start the ABAP (the "NSP" node), it asks me the user and password and I use the OS User/Password that I used to install ABAP Trial (above).
If you are doing the same I don't know why the message "Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials".

Okay, pls check that you are logged in as administrator and installed and now you are logged in as administrator and registering the iAS server. Did you get any installation failures while installing and are you able to register the server using iASAT ?
