Please refere back to your installation guide for your respective Netweaver System.  NW 7.1 is not compatable with Java 1.4, it requires at least a java version of 1.5 to operate.  If you use the 'java -version' command, this will tell you what your current java release is.

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Firefox 4 unable to use on imac G5 ( without intel chips ), get messageYou can't open the application bcz it is not supported on this architecture.

My iMac G5 without intel chips, Mac OS X 10.5.8.
using Firefox 364 no problem at all.
But unable to install Firefox 4 on it, prompt "You can't open the application because it is not supported on this architecture"

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
There is a third-party version of Firefox 4 that works on PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Director PowerPC processors (PPC ) can't open the application because it is "not supported on this a

I created a projector in Adobe Director 11.5 for the Mac.
For some reason PowerPC processors (PPC ) can't open it because they received a message saying the application is "not supported on this architecture."
And idea if there is a way to make projectors compatible for the Mac PPC processors?
    Thanks,

Check your product version by typing "put the productVersion" into the message panel - if you don't get the response "11.5.9" then update the to latest patch by selecting the Update option from Director's Help menu. (I suspect you already are on 11.5.9, though, otherwise you wouldn't get this problem).
Next, go to the Publish Settings page, and under the projector tab you will notice an option to create the Mac projector as either a "Universal Binary" or an "Intel Binary"
Universal Binary will run natively on PPC Macs, and will run under Rosetta on Intel Macs running up-to-and-including OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Intel Binary will run on all Intel Macs running OSX 10.5 and upwards.
Rosetta is a virtualisation layer built into OSX versions up to 10.6; It allows programs written for PPC to run on Intel Macs. Rosetta was dropped from OSX 10.7 (Lion), so a UB projector won't work on Lion.
    Hope that helps

"You can't open the application Safari because it is not supported on this type of Mac."
I vaguely remember some capability to rollback any updates. Is this true?
Where should I go from here?

First you need to clear out some space on the startup volume. You should have at least 9 GB available. Then do as follows.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it.

  • I may have inadvertantly downloaded to Firefox 5 instead of 4 and can not open the application because it is not supported. Can I still download Firefox 4, which I intended to do?

I wanted to upgrade from Firefox 3 to Firefox 4. But, after I completed the download and then tried to open the Firefox application, I received a pop-up message saying, "You cannot open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture." Is it possible that I may have inadvertantly downloaded Firefox 5? I do not think that my system will support
Firefox 5. I am not a techie, so I very much appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.

*Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
*Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Thanks for the link to the system requirements, edmeister. However, my system appears to fit every requirements listed, but still gives the same error message.
Here is what my system profiler tells me about my Imac:
    Mac OS X v. 10.5.8
Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, which Wikipedia tells me is "x86" processor
    3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    My Activity Monitor says:

    Hi steverl1,
This error message means that Photoshop CC you have is not compatible with your Mac.
You can check the system requirements from this link
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop.html
If your mac has a core duo processor then it will not support 64-bit apps the processor for your Mac should be core 2 duo.

  • MAC running on 10.5.8 trying to upgrade to Firefox 9.0. unable to use it as it said"You can't open the application because it's not supported on this architecture"

I've read your recommended work around, that said to trash all previous versions of Firefox, I've done so and now have no browser other than Safari.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do NOT have; '''''yours is a PPC Mac''''') '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher.

'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.x still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

You can try the third-party product '''''TenFourFox''''' that supports PPC Macs with OSX 10.4.11 and OSX 10.5.8. Firefox 9 version of '''''TenFourFox''''' is available. The product is based on Firefox released versions. All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

  • Is a Premiere CS5.5 download available? I seem to always get redirected to the newest version, which is not supported by my OS. This is for first-time use, not replacement download of an already-purchased product.

OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CS5 is not for sale any longer if you are looking to purchase it, at least not thru Adobe.
CS6 is still being sold.  I run CS6 on a Vista system without any issues.  You might try downloading the trial version and see if it works for you.
You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • The attached iPod model is not supported by this application

I just bought a 20G color iPod. I spoke w/ the Apple tech support & I needed service pack 2. I downloaded it. I didn't have a USB 2.0 port then I installed one. I downloaded the latest Apple updater software 2005-06-26 then I tried the even later version 2005-09-06. When I go into updater, it says it is "initializing" and then says "the attached iPod model is not supported by this application." Reformat and restore are both grayed out. iPod doesn't show up in iTunes and doesn't transfer my library. I just got back from the Apple Store and the suppossed "genius" said the iPod is fine and it is my computer. WHAT is wrong with my computer?

    Brad,
you ought a little bit more descriptive! What Version of iTunes are you using? Check the software version of your iPod (if it even has one yet) under Settings-About. Your iTunes and iPod software have to be compatible. If you're running 4.9 you need 2005-06-26. Close iTunes and leave it alone. Deinstall all iPod related software, clean the registry if you want (I don't think this is so much necessary for the iPod software). Then install 2005-06-26 again on your computer first!! Don't connect the iPod. After having installed it, open the Updater, then connect. Before you do that and since you don't have any music on the iPod reset it to factory settings under Settings-Reset all settings. Or at least reset it with pushing Menue and the center knob at once. Many possibilities I know, but either one will work...after that it will remain seen by iTunes and you're a lucky guy (hopefully).
    Best regards
    Roman

  • Cannot reboot and I get this message The application "Firefox.app" is not open anymore.

Firefox has not allowed my computer to shut down normally for months.
I created a whole new user with a new Firefox profile, but when I quit Firefox or try to do a shutdown, Firefox closes it's windows but leaves the small dot under it's icon on the doc. Force quitting does nothing. If I click on the icon I get nothing if I go to the application folder and double click on Firefox, I get this: The application “Firefox.app” is not open anymore.
I'm using Chrome because the only way to run firefox (without a forced shutdown) is to copy the Firefox app to another name and run that. BTW, I've also deleted all the parentlock files from my system (several times). If this cannot be solved I'll have to switch to Chrome (as much as I hate Google)!

So I have a question for this: I folowed this procedure, but when I'm trying to import the IOS from IMovies in my laptop I receive a message that states that the IMovie version installed doen't supports IOS files, although I have the last version installed with all the updates... Any ideas, thoughts?
    Thanks

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a  iMac.

  • Reports older than version 9 are not supported

    Hello,
I tried to access crystal reports rpt files from java client application:
    reportClientDoc.open(filename,0);
and I got the following error meassage as ReportSDKException:
Reports older than version 9 are not supported.
I am using the jar files of the here downloaded JRC pack as runtime libraries (actually in NetBeans IDE 7.2.1).
    I tried the followiing packs:
crjava-runtime_12.2.217 : SAP Crystal Reports for Java Runtime Components - Java Reporting Component (JRC)
    and
    JRC 11.8
    giving similar error message.
Is there any older pack available for download prior of Crystal Reports version 9 ?  I could not find for very long search.
Or is there any other possibilty to access such RPT files from java? (Actually these file are generated by IBAK-IKAS Sewer Inspection Software).
I suppose VisualStudio is a possibility (which version?), but java would be better for us on our operation system platform.
    thanks for any tip
    Marcell

    Ted,
I am actually using your JSP page code from "Ensuring Report Cleanup" blog.
All my reports have a date stamp of 2006-2009, so they are fairly recently.
And they are 3rd party, not sure I can modify them (technically or legally)
I tried to open several other reports (with more recent datestamp), and got exceptions like:
    Error
    Error finding JNDI name (CSGSQL_2K5)
What might be causing that and how to fix it?
(I try to open it from file system, not RAS. Running JSP on Tomcat6. maybe some XML config file missing?)
Does it mean that this report is not too old for CRViewer12, so we are one step further ?
Also, how do I pass info to that report via JSP (DB connection, parameters, etc)?
Any good documentation/books on working with CRViewer 12 with JSP ?
I could only find books on how to use CR with .NET.
Sorry for the newbie questions, very new to CR.
    TIA,
    Oleg.
