I quickly read this article the other day then bookmarked it for future study.
However today I get a 404 error whether I use my bookmark or link directly from Jeff's post.
Can anyone please advise?

hat's above my pay grade...when I wrote the article I went through great pains to do the screen shots so they would print well at 8.5"x11" at 300ppi on a 150LPI halftone screen...the way DPP decided to convert the figures sucks but it is what it is. At one point they were talking about selling printable PDFs but that never came about...

Unfortunately, there is nothing to really do this. I asked for years, and eventually gave up. The best I came up with -- and it sucks -- is to watch for kArtPropertiesChangedNotifier and when that triggers, you look at the selected art and assume that was what was 'created' or 'edited'. Go to google and search for the artwork. When you find it, save it to your computer. Right click the album and select get info. Drag the image you saved to the empty box for album art.

Unfortunately, the uncertainty arising from the rounding has been up several times here in this forum.
I just came to remember a warning that needs to be given:
The rounding of the representation of a numerical value may be harmless in itself, but if you use it for any operation that changes the value, such as multiplication or whatever, things will go wrong because the operation will be made on the basis of the rounded value instead of the true value. So, as in your first case in post #2, 39.625 rounded to 39.63 will become 79.26 instead of 79.25.

Is it possible to export multiple sections of the art board as individual PNG's?

I have an art board full of GUI buttons and each button consists of an icon and a background sitting beneath it. the back ground is just a rectangle with some shading and made into a symbol repeated over and over again incase someone wants to change the color palette of the buttons in 1 go.
Is it possible to export every button (icon and background) as its own individual png? and have each png the size of the icon rather than the art board?
The equivalent of Photoshop's Generate>Image Asset.
***one key component i really need to know is if i can also have illustrator automatically create folders for these files to be exported or generated into***
in the same way that in Photoshop, if you name a layer "Folder1/Image1.png" it will export that layer automatically as a png name Image1 inside a folder name Folder1.

Try export to css. I believe that is the equivalent. It will create individual png files.

I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
Please fix!

When I download a movie from iTunes the cover art disappears. I try get info and add the art, it doesn't show up. So it's just gray. It opens and plays fine. Apple can't figure it out. It's an nas drive. When I use a firewire drive I get the art

When I download movies from iTunes to my NAS drive, I don't get the cover art. It shows up while its downloading, but when it's finish it disappears. If it has an iTunes extra the cover art is there. I tried get info and add the cover art, it never shows. Regardless of how I add it. Funny thing is, if I download the same movie to my external firewire drive, no problem its there. I've called Apple with no success. I've even tried copying the movie with the art from the firewire drive to replace the file on then NAS drive I still loose the movie cover art. I also tried several times to re download it, no luck. Any ideas? I'm out of ideas.

Do you have any videos/movies in the video app?
In iTunes if you right click on the video and select Get Info and go to the Option tap what Media Type is shown?

I need to find similar text in two columns: e.g. cell a1 has The Art of War and there is another similar cell in another column that has Art of War HD

I have text (list of items) on Column A
I want to find the the same word/number of characters on Column C and to place the formula on Column B and I want the matching result.
A1 the art of War
I know that somewhere in column b there is a term similar (start with the same characters) The Art of War HD in Spanish
So I want a match between these two columns so on the result on cell B1 it will give me "The Art of" (if I ask for 10 matching characters).

Get the Column A and Column B the front 10 characters to Column C and Column D
Match the Column C and Column D
Formula:
C1: =LEFT(A1,10)
D1: =LEFT(B1,10)
E1: =IF(DELTA(C1,D1),"same","not same")

I don't think the list style transfers. Copy and paste the text in to Mail, select it and then choose "Insert Numbered List" as a work around.

ABAP OO Dynpro - What is current state-of-the-art of this?

I am looking to determine the current state-of-the-art of ABAP OO Dynpro programming.
I have extensively searched both with Google and within SDN. Best thing I could find was two articles from Thomas Jung from SAP Labs --> "ABAP OO Mixed with Classic Dynpro (02/21/2005)" and "OO ABAP Dynpro Programming (09/20/2005)".
Has anyone done any further development of this concept since Thomas's posts? If so, can anyone point me to any relevant articles, source codes, examples?

It's a hard question to answer in reality because WDA is a growing beast. Even though there are new technologies involved now it's still still classic WDA. WDA has always been built with OO in mind. The only difference these days is that the functionality has been changed to allow for more RIA (rich internet applications).
You have started in the right by checking out Thomas's blogs as he is one of the leaders in WDA. You might want to also check out www.enterprisegeeks.com.

The original image files are missing form your iPhoto library or iPhoto cannot find them, because the link to the originals has been broken. The image info is stored in the internal libraries, independent of the original files. That is, why you are still seeing them.
I restored the whole library from my backup.
Try restoring from an older backup, from before you first noticed the problem.
How large is the library, that you restored? Is the file size large enough to hold all your photos, or has the size been reduced? If the library is still large, the photos may still be inside, even if iPhoto cannot find them.

What happened, before your iPhoto library got deleted? Which applications have you been running, or which new software have installed or upgraded? Have you moved the library to a different disk or tried to use it from different user account or access it over the network?

CS5 - how to delete artboard AND the art on it

Is there a way to delete an artboard and everything on it with one command? I always have to do <shift><o> and <delete> for the artboard, then <esc> and select the art to delete it.

it's doable with a script, but still 3 clicks away...I don't know if it is more productive for you.

Rules for applying source data when using the art history brush

I am trying to discover if a Snapshot made with the History feature can be used by the Art History Brush on more than the Snapshot's corresponding layer.
So, I have an image with a background layer and a copy of that background layer - two layers. I then make a Snapshot from the second layer and apply a fill colour to the second layer. Next I paint on that filled layer with the Art History Brush. Now here's the issue - having completed painting on that second layer I would like to be able to duplicate that second layer so it becomes a third layer and paint on to it with the Art History Brush using a new brush type but the same original Snapshot. My experience so far is that the Art History Brush and History function will not allow me to paint with the original Snapshot on this duplicated layer. In other words, you cannot paint on to the third layer using your original Snapshot.
Is this correct, please? I had hoped that the snapshot I originally made would be available to use with the Art History Brush on any layer in your layer-stack but this seems not to be the case. It will only work with the layer from which the original Snapshot was created.
I can of course create a new snapshot of the duplicated, painted second layer - now called the third layer - but this only enables me to paint with the image in the second layer (from which the second Snapshot has been created). I want to be able to paint on to the third layer with the original Snapshot but this it will not let me do.
If anyone is kind enough to read through all this and follow my exposition I'd be really grateful to know if my understanding is correct.

If you don't make the new snapshot with the icon but with the palette menu, you will get a window with 3 options.
Try which of the three solves your problem.
