  • Change the storage server of archiving files

    Hello Gurus,
I have archiving files in iseries storage, but because the disks in iseries servers is very expensive i want to change the storage server to Intel server with Win2003 or Linux S.O.
This change is posibble? i would appreciate your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Ernesto Castro.

    Hi,
With my understanding about accessing the archive data from the storage system, i can say that it is possible.
    1. First you should check with archive server vendors (such as opentext or Documentum) whether their application will support in this scenario.
    2. When you are relocating the archived data from one storage to another storage system then the link between the archived data and the physical path will be disconnected.
Solution: A. create a content repository of new location and assign this content repository to all the archiving objects that are affected.
    B. Delete the build Infostructure for the archiving objects and after assigning the new content repository build the infostructure again and try to access the archived data.
Hope this mail could help you.

  • My iPhone 5 keeps glitching since the last update. I've completed a soft reset on my phone three times. What do I do?!? I cannot use my iPhone like I should be able to.

    Someone please help me!

You have a password, so good move on your part.  Whether you erase it or the thief does, they still get to use the iPhone as theirs.  Which is more important (pick one), protecting your data or punishing the thief?
Ringing occurs at the carrier.  Chances are you're going to voicemail after only two or three rings.  If you have an iCloud backup also a good move.  Re-read my question in the first paragraph.

  • Archived file too big for DVD

    Hello
I have created an archive file that looks to be 7.4 GB - obviously too big to fit on one DVD. Is there a way to put this file onto TWO DVD's, or do I have to try and make two files that are smaller in order to put them on DVD?
It doesn't look like the archive file is much smaller than the originals put together - there was an M4V (iPod movie - 163 MB), a disk image of the same (iDVD - 1.77 GB) and the original file from iMovie (6.6GB). I'm afraid that even if I split them up into two files, I won't be able to get the iMovie file onto one disk just by itself!
I really want them on a disk rather than an external hard drive - at the rate my son is making these movies, I'll have no space left really soon! Please help! Thanks.

"SuperDrive" is just Apple's term for their internal DVD writers. In the last couple of years, SuperDrives have been updated with DL-burning capability.
A "regular" single-layer DVD has around 4.7GB of capacity, which roughly translates to 90 minutes of video.
Commercial movie DVDs have long used the DL format, meaning that they can fit twice the length of video onto the disk. You will specifically need "DVD +R DL" disks to record this amount of data. Apple sells them, but you should also find them at good office stockists.
DVD players/readers can read both formats.

  • BW 7.0 Reload Archived Files

    Hi everyone,
I am playing around with archiving in BW 7.0.
I created some .ARCHIVE files and have been reloading them into a copy of the original cube
using a DTP with the option "load from archive".
As I understand this always means a "full load".
Indeed when I execute the DTP all archived files for the original cube are loaded into the copy cube.
Is there a way to determine which .ARCHIVE files will be loaded (without having to physically
remove them from the archive server) ?
Suppose I only wanted to reload this particular .ARCHIVE file, how would I need to proceed ?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Rudi.

    Arun,
    Thank you for your reply.
I made several .ARCHIVE files using different selection criteria.
All these .ARCHIVE files refer to the same logical name.
When I look at the physical location of the .ARCHIVE files I can see the distinct files.
There are one or more files according to each archive request.
It would be convenient if I could determine which archive request I wanted to
    reload in my copy cube.
Anyone has hands-on experience with this type of archiving ?
    Kind regards,
    Rudi.

  • Re-ripping an iDVD creation back into an archive file

    Hi,
I created a DVD using iDVD, and have since lost the archived project file. I know I can rip the DVD's contents back onto my computer in case I want to re-burn another copy, but was wondering if there's a way to rip the DVD so that it can become an iDVD archive file where I could easily modify the file (change audio, modify titles etc).
I'm guessing the answer is no, but maybe someone has figured out a way to do that. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, DannyG,
You don't have to rip a DVD content to burn another copy. Just insert the burned DVD disk you have, and use Disk Utility (applications/utilities) to create a disk image file and then use that to burn more DVD disks. You will not lose any quality this way.
The disk image file is a self-contained file that cannot be edited, but it makes a great backup and you do not have to save all the original media used in your iDVD project. You should be making disk images of all your iDVD projects...you do it from within the iDVD project selecting 'Save as Disk image' while you still have the iDVD project available.
If you mean that you want to edit the media--photos, iMovies--used in a DVD that you have created, you can rip its contents, but you will lose some quality because the media has to be compressed when you burn it to DVD, has to be uncompressed to rip it to iMovie for editing, and then recompressed to burn to DVD again. But, if it is important to re-edit, you can extract the footage using Handbrake, Ripit or MPEG Streamclip. The first two you must purchase, Streamclip is free, but you may need to purchase Apple's Quicktime Component for $20.
If, however, you mean that you might want to change some of the titles and audio of the iDVD project itself, not the media used in it, you would have to recreate the iDVD project. That data would not be extractable from the files within the project. If you no longer have the original media used in the project, you would then have to extract the media files as above and put those into the new iDVD project, and then create an archive file of that project.

  • Create Camera Archive via Card Reader - Possible?

If I connect my DSLR (5D II) to the Mac Pro via USB it is not recognised when I click the Import Icon as a source to create a Camera Archive.
If I stick the CF card in a Firewire reader it does not appear as an option except when using Import under File menu option, and that imports directly as an Event.

    Jeaux wrote:
I can understand using FCPX to archive tape footage, but for card contents I don't see the point. Create an archive file on a drive and drag a copy of your card there...
Yes, you could do it manually (what I generally do for photos) but for consistency I'd like to make archives when I've taken video footage - I'm only a hobbyist but often carry both my Sony HC3 camcorder and 5D II DSLR - I'll have video from both and it would be quite clumsy to have an archive of the tape material but a 'manually created' folder of the DSLR stuff.
Not essential to have this, but would certainly be nice.

  • Unable to get Field Names from Archived File

    Hi All,
We have a ECC 6 Ehp4 system. When i retrieve Idocs archived using SARA, the data only contains application data. There is no field names available - eg: posting date, tax code etc. Please find below the background on this issue.
I configured archiving of process idocs (status 52,12,03) from EDIDC tables. I set up the settings for Archive Object IDOC and archived the data for 15 days.
Both archiving and deletion of data from the table was successful.
I tried reading the Idoc data from Archive File using the Information System option -> Info structure (available as default for Idoc).
But the data retrieved only shows the Application data for all the segments of the IDoc. The fields for the segments like Tax Code, Posting Date etc are not available in the data. Functional teams will not be able to make sense with just the application data.
Am I missing some setting? Is there any way to retrieve the related field values also ?
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

    Hi All,
There is tcode WE10. You could choose if the data source is archive and also the archive session. You will get the list of segments provided. click on the segment number and you will get the data.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How do I create a ".mailloc" file from an email address?

Before Snow Leopard I simply would drag an email to a project folder and it would create a ".mailloc" file. Later if I was referencing a contact or needed an email I could simply double click it and it would open a new email to that address.
When I updated to Snow Leopard that functionality doesn't work now? All I get is a dumb *** "Text Clipping" which I don't want nor is it as useful to me as a ".mailloc" file. Anyone know how to save an email address as a ".mailloc" file format?
In Safari on Snow Leopard you can still drag a URL and it'll create a ".webloc" file format so not sure why they messed with Apple Mail when it wasn't broken.
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks.
    Von

Paste the email address into any text field and drag it to the desktop.

  • A program that creates a JAR file

    Hello,
I want my program to generate a JAR file with the content of a folder, by I just don't know how to to this.
I don't find any help about this and I wonder if it is possible.
    Can someone help me ?
Does someone know if it is possible to create a jar in a program, and if yes, how to do ?
    Thanks a lot
    Lio

(I think Lio wanted to create a .jar file in his program, rather than an external program that could create files for him?) The java.util.jar package has classes for creating jar files. They are quite easy to use. You can use this code as a reference:
    http://javaalmanac.com/egs/java.util.zip/CreateZip.html
(nevermind the fact that the code creates a Zip file rather than a Jar file; the API is so similar you can just replace every occurence of 'zip' with 'jar')

    Hi Santhosh,
    In this particular case, to have the same script do the FTP is not a good idea because;
    a. It is FTPS
    b. The password for the target keeps changing every month - means modifying the script in PRD
    c. To monitor for the FTP of the files via the script is a pain point. The support team will require to now check in a different location for this, losing out on the central monitoring concept of XI
Thanks for you input still, appreciate it !!!

I would just chalk it up to slow hardware but they load real quick in windows 7 and once this bad spot is loaded the program runs so fast and nice afterword. Maybe some tweeks? I wonder if this would happen in Snow?
The coment "few outdated programs" Ive seen alot its not just a few its a lot and since games are not Apple's strong point I would think they would want to keep as many as they could...
An example of the rants you will see from a lot here. Don't be put off as these problems are generally user specific, and these same old comments come out after the release of every OSX I can remember. When Lion is upgraded  to the next OSX you can gaurentee these forums will be full of people screaming about how great Lion was. Happened with Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
So come to think of it you may be better off Googling sites that give you unbiased views on Lion, rather than expect any positive comments here. For every one complaint there are probably 100,000 people with no issues.
