The ASM is unavailable, how to make it work?

I am a new user of oracle.
We have installed oracle 10g R1 on Linux Redhat 9 server.(It is not me who installed and configured oracle)
I have done some test including creating/deleting tables, adding user, and so on. It works well. I didn't notice the status of ASM then.
After that, I partitioned a new hard disk(no relationship with oracle) on the same server and reboot it without stopping the Oracle(without stopping anything).After the reboot, I started the oracle DB, the EM, the listener again(started and stopped for several times). And oracle can work. I then wanted to do some back up but found the ASM is unavailable.

I checked the /etc/sysconfig/oracleasm and found the ORACLEASM_UID, ORACLEASM_GID, ORACLEASM_CLEARBOOT and ORACLEASM_SCANEXCLUDE are blank.
I ran the /etc/init.d/oracleam configure
to set ORACLEASM_UID=oracle
ORACLEASM_GID=dba
I haven't restarted the ASM yet. I am afraid I will destroy something.
Can anybody give me some advice? Thank you very much!

Thank you for your helpful replies. I will report my status:
1) I have found there is no ORACLE_SID at all in my system.
2) $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status dbconsole
it shows : No ORACLE_SID is defined.
3) I exported the ORACLE_SID=+ASM in the .bash_profile
4) $ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl status dbconsole
it shows: TZ set to US/Central
OC4J Configuration issue. /opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_localdomain_+ASM not found.
(*NOTE: ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1)
5) I don't know how to check the EM version. But when I click Start Application-Oracle 10g Menu-DBA Tasks-Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Start, it shows:

6) I can not find any *.dbf in my system, and I have only a raw partitions named oracleasm mounted in /dev/oracleasm. When I click Start Application-Oracle 10g Menu-DBA Tasks-Oracle 10g Database Start, it shows:

All these things make me guess the dabases were built using ASM. Am I right?
7) If it is EM configuration problem, what should I do next?

you can get lead selection in the action handler then inset your code for currentContextElement.
wdContext.currentContextElement().getTableSorter().sort(wdEvent, wdContext.nodeXXX());

Deleted itouch files using ifile from cydia. i restarted it but now it shows the apple logo and that is it... it doesnt respond. any ideas of how to make it work?

I have this setup too, however I am connected to the internet fine, but iTunes airtunes sharing does not appear at all. Any suggestions as to why or what I can try?
The Airport Express is setup to use Airtunes, and iTunes is too. When setting up the airport Exp, Airtunes worked but internet didnt. When i figured out the internet part, Airtunes stopped

I used to have this problem on a iPad 2 with iOS7 (and iOS6). Everytime I would install a new PDF, iBooks would churn away like it was scanning it. The book wouldn't even show up for me to read until the churning stopped. Eventually the edit button would re-enable and the doc would appear.. It seemed to keep getting worse each time.
I then did a complete restore to the iPad. Now when I load a new book, it immediately is available for edit. iBooks still works fine 3 months after I did the restore.

Not necessarily. That only works as stated if you have one of the most recent MBP's that has a built-in HDMI port.
If the MBP only has a Thunderbolt or miniDisplayPort, you need an appropriate adapter cable and even if you use an HDMI adapter or cable to connect to your HDTV there is no guarantee it will carry audio. You have to determine if your specific MBP model supports audio out through its miniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt output, and whether the adapter does likewise.

I have not yet seen any official response to the question: "Is the Apple AV Composite cable fully supported with 30pin connector devices upgraded with iOS7 - specifically ? - eg. iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s"
If it is not currently supported is that then due to a bug / oversight and in that case is it something that will be fixed in the near future?
