The AT&T website will not recognize my home phone number, ID or password. I was trying to find an e-mail or chat support and can not locate them. They sent me an e-mail alegidly with a PIN number but there is nothing identafied as such. This means that I can not use my cell phone number to check in.

    First, check the caps lock on your PC keyboard. I know this sounds a bit silly, but we've all done it. If it turns out caps lock was on, then just enter all caps on the iPad.
    If that's not the problem, try opening Notes and type your password sonyouncan see it. If you're not getting what you expect, try slowing down.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app

        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • I have a HP infared capshare 920 scanner I am having trouble getting my iMac to recognizing it.  I purchased a irda specifically for the imac and it will not  recognize scanner.  Does anyone have any suggestions on solving this problem?

    I am using a HP CapShare 920 handheld scanner and I would like to download documents onto my mac.  I purchased an IR778 usb port adapter specific for a mac, downloaded the required app for this.  The mac recognises the ir778 but will not recognise the scanner. Now it works fine on my netbook, yet I can not read the files they are so small.  I am looking for some help so I can use my much preferred mac.

    All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

    I recently purchased a new labtop a few weeks ago and it came installed with windows 8.  I updated the next day to windows 8.1. I then installed itunes and my iPod 5th generation and iPhone 5 were working fine. I then updated to the latest itunes. When I plugged my iPod in, I received a message that my iPod was detected on windows but could not be identified properly. The same thing applies to my iPhone 5. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes 3 times, restarted my labtop several times. I have followed most of the advice on these forums and I'm stuck. Nothing is happening. If i plug in my ipod, nothing. If i plug in my iphone nothing.  Please help me

    I made a new apple ID because my old one would not let me download any new apps from the app store.
    Everything works great with my new appleID EXCEPT it will not let me use imessage with my phone number.
    I have tried network resets, turning on/off the restrictions, everything.

  • My iPhone 5 will not ring when my phone number is called.

    Despite the "Silent" button on the side of the iPhone 5 being set to off, and the ringer turned on full blast, my iPhone 5 will not ring when any number calls my phone. This is not an issue with the settings, which are all set for the phone to ring. Has anyone else run into this problem, or may have a solution besides taking the phone in for repair? My phone is no longer covered under the one year limited manufacturer's warranty, so any repair is likely going to cost a minimum of almost $300.

    I was forced to change my email address, (was locked out of it). I also was forced to change my Apple password due to the iOS 7 upgrade. Everything on my iPhone and iPad, including iTunes, accepted my new email address change, except iCloud. And because I was forced to change my password, it doesn't recognize my old password or new password either. There is no way I can find to change my email address on iCloud, and so I'm stuck. I cannot delete iCloud account without proper email and password and it still shows my old email and doesn't allow it to be changed.

    If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Itunes 8.02 will not install all the way... will not recognize iphone

    I attempted to "upgrade" to itunes 8.02 from 8.01, at first the installer would not even start installing. I uninstalled all apple software, ie: quicktime, itunes, mobile device service. Downloaded the 64bit vista version of itunes and started to install, the installer got through quick time and itunes. In fact itunes is working now and says its version 8.02, it was a little odd that all my songs and settings where still in there though (might be a new feature?) needless to say the installer stop when it said publishing information and performing the services install.
    When I connect my iphone the error says: "iphone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64-bit version of itunes." Now the default folder for itunes is /program files(x86) which means it was installing it as a x86 app, when i attempted to change the folder for just the /program files folder where the normal 64bit apps go, the installer crashes on me......

    you may need to intall it the way I did, it might just get it to work.

    I changed my email password on Gmail last night.  I then went into settings on my MAC to reflect the changes but it will not recognize it.  I double checked to ensure I had the right password and it is. I can log into my email from safari with no issues.  I have varified that all account information is correct but its still not working.  I have also lost notes and contacts.

    If Terminal doesn't scare you, you might try this line in Terminal...
    sudo mv /var/db/CodeEquivalenceDatabase /var/db/CodeEquivalenceDatabase.old
    Carefully type your admin password when asked & hit enter, as it won't be echoed, then restart the Mac.
    The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
    This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server.
    So since WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.
    The receiving email ports are:
    IMAP is port 143
    IMAP-SSL is port 993
    POP is port 110
    POP-SSL is port 995

    I have a user area in a particular website that allows me to down load content for recording software. It worked fine in the past but now will not recognize my password, or the new ones they send. However I can log into the site fine on the other PCs in the house. Could this possibly be because of some Safari upgrade? I have also used other browsers; Explorer & Firefox, and the site still will not recognize my username & password.     Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Launch Safari. From the menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Make sure: *user names and passwords* is selected. Now click the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Delete all cookies related to the site you are having problems logging into.
    Quit Safari.
    Launch Keychain Access (Applications / Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
    Delete the keychain for that particular website.
    Relaunch Safari. Navigate to that site, enter your user name and passwords, click Yes when prompted.
    If that didn't help, in Keychain Access, delete the *Safari Forms Autofill* keychain. Relaunch Safari and try again.
    If that didn't help either since Firefox and IE aren't working either, login to another account on your Mac. Launch Safari and login to that site there. If you have problems there, then it's a system wide problem, not just your user account.
