The audio device supported by this device was not detect

Ok, i'm having massi've problems with this card, i think it just hates me. I'm running Windows XP SP3 Home, SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum and it's not going too well. I have had it installed for a year now, Had to put up with EAX Console giving me a mediasource Error. Sound Mixer worked at this point. Then i decide to reinstall it, deleting all traces of it (installshield files too), i disabled my onboard sound (i had no idea it was enabled) called AC97 Audio or something in the bios. I restart and re-install. All seemed fine, until i double click the Creative Volume control and find the Error you see in the title now. I have a look on Sound and Audio Devices on Control Panel and it says 'No device found' on the first panel. On Recording and Audio the first 2 boxes are grayed out, but the Midi one has SB Audigy [0B00] or something similar. It's been plaguing me ever since i got it. Every application except diagnostics tool gives me the Error in the title. Also, instead of the classic Ping that windows gives through my speakers, i get a beep from inside my computer. It won't let me press the play button on the Sounds section of sounds and audio devices. I would deeply appreciate any help. Thanks
Any other info you need to know, just post here.
Heigou
UPDATE: I ran dxdiag and the sound section tells me that a sound card wasn't detected.
UPDATE: I changed PCI Slot, still same problem.

  • Error: The Audio Device app not detected please h

    Hi,
I seem to be having a problem with my audio device. I purchased a Dell Dimension XP and wanted to use the Creative Labs interface that came with the card I had purchased for my old computer. I put the Sound Blaster Audigy ZS Platinum in the new computer, installed the drivers and software but I can't seem to access some of the features on my surround mixer. For Example, I can't access Graphics Equalizer, EAX console and THX Console Setup.
I'm running Windows Media Center 2002.
Any solutions to this, I'm trying to record vocals but without the access of these features it's pointless to even use this card anymore.

    Anyone?

Sound is fine but I get error message every time I try to start any of the creative applications that come in mediasource like the graphic eq, speaker settings, surround mixer, EAX and THX consoles; the error: The Audio Device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.
I have read the forum notes on this error message and seems other have had this same issue, but I don't see any solutions...if anyone knows anything about solving this little mystery, please reply - need to get into that console to fully utilize this sound card.

AFTER AUTOUPDATE this problem began. I removed the audigy package and reinstalled everything from the factory CD and still get this message. This happens every time I update the audigy drivers and thx. I am tired of doing recoveries to get audigy to work. Too bad I keep forgetting that the updates cause this problem. Audigy Platinum 2 works fine wothout the update. I will never update again!
How can I resolve this problem short of a full recovery?

OK so i have had a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum for like 2 years now. About 2 weeks ago the Mic stopped working so i tried updating the drivers to see if that would fix the problem it didn't. Then a couple of days ago i got a new case so while transferring all the hardware i decided to try putting the card in a different slot to see if that was the problem(i also deleted all the drivers and software before hand). So i did that started the comp up and installed the drivers and software using the original CD. Now that fixed my Mic it works fine now along with the sound, But if i try and use and of the creative software like the equalizer or EAX console i get the message. Now the sound and Mic work and if i goto my device manager the computer sees the card "Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS(WDM)", but i still get that error message. I also noticed that its a lot quieter now and i have to turn my speakers up a lot more to get the same noise level. Along with if i am playing a game (WoW specifically) and listening to music i get a crackling noise from my speakers. This doesn't happen if im just listening to music so i know its not the speakers.
OK thanks for reading my really long post any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro version and I have the exact problem.
It started?with the missing microphone, I unistalled and reinstalled the drivers from original CD. During the installation, I got error message that?the?installation?file _iss.dll was not found. Repeated installation of drivers with the same result. After the end of the installation, I am?getting same error message about audio device not detected.
Any ideas someone??I spent a good amount of money when I bought this sound card, thinking that I was buying a proper sound card from a respected company, which would give me good support when I would need it. Please don't prove me wrong....

Here is the information on my system:

    MSI K8 Neo4 Platimum M/B
Nvidia 7800 GT Graphics card with 256 MB RAM
    Audigy X-Fi Platinum
    Windows XP home SP2
The card is functioning, however, none of the applications will function. The Audio console halts with a message ""
This card has worked fine for about four months or so and now this seems to be a problem all of the sudden. I have noticed others are having these issues. I hope that Creative has not become another ATI (poorly written apps and drivers). I would like to know a fix for the matter at hand. I invested too much in my computer not to be able to get full use of it.
    Brion

I found a solution to the problem that will allow the apps to run and the drivers to function correctly. My computer showed as having SP2, however, I decided to download the IT Professional version of it and install it again. Problem has disappeared and everything is working once again. Seems this Creative software is HIGHLY dependant on SP2. Here is a link to what I used to solve my problem:

    I have an Audigy 2 ZS , My system XP-Home SP2 Athlon 64
From time to time i tried to install the newest drivers from the download area without success ( bluescreens and such other issues ).
The drivers direct from the CD are working.
Now i was able to install the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe driver ( but there where blue screens to)
Now, there is sound, but the whole creativve software is not working.
For instance it is not possible to access the speaker settings .
    Error Message " "
    Error Code 6003
    What shall i do ?

Upon further inspection, I only get the error message when I try to open any app in the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sub folder. In other words: START/All Programs/Creative/Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. Anything I try opening in there gives me the error. Everything in the Creative Media Toolbox, and Sound Blaster X-Fi sub folders work fine. As long as I never need anything in the SB Audigy 2 ZS folder, I'm A-OK.

  • USB Audio Device sometimes not detected. udev, maybe?

I am using an external usb audio device which I usually keep plugged into my machine.  I am finding that this device is sometimes not being detected when I boot the computer.
When this happens, issuing the following command:
    $ aplay -L
does not list this particular device.  Plugging and unplugging the device does not seem to help.
What does seem to resolve the problem is unloading and then reloading the snd_sub_audio kernel module.  This is done by issuing the following commands:
    # rmmod snd_usb_audio
    # modprobe snd_usb_audio
Could anyone give some insight as to why the usb audio device isn't being detected and why this only happen occasionally?  Could this be a udev issue?  The device in question is an M-Audio Fast Track Pro.

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Can you control EAX through "Creative Audio Console" ot "CT Panel"?
    - Audio Console is bundled w/ latest drivers (or you can DL the installation separately from CT Support).
    - CT Panel can be found on "C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2Zs\Program\WDM\COMMON" -folder (ctpanel.exe) and/or
inside the driver update (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe\Drivers\wdm\common\i3 86 or Amd64 -folder).

  • "The audio device supported by this application is not detected" Soluti

I just recently bought an X-Fi xtrememusic and have been having alot of trouble to get the software on the CD to "coexist" with the new drivers. I was just messing around awhile ago in msconfig and autoruns and found a few creative startup programs that I had disabled. I decided to poke around in C:\windows and system32 to manually run these programs and my audio console finally started to work! Only problem is that it generates an error when I exit it out but my settings stick. I'm not sure what programs are necessary for the included software to function properly but next time I get the chance I will reinstall and leave it as it should be to see what happens.

  • The audio device is not working in my brand new hp

I bought the pavilion f4j02la and after 10 days of using it, out of the blue, the sound speaker on the desk appeared with an "x" as if I had put mute on it. It appears to be no device no more and the automatic "help" that searchs for the problem and then fixes it, says that it can't fix anything and that probably one or more  audio services are not being executed. It is still brand new.
So far i've tried downloading a bunch of new drivers, uninstalling the ones I already had, restarted the computer, erased evertything I had and try to set it back as when I just bought it... and this support hp is unreacheble.
I'm all the way to Germany where I just found out they are not in the market... so, if anyone has any idea how can I fix this I will really really appreciate it.

  • Audio Device Supported by This Application is Not Detec

Just bought my Audigy4 and installed it without any problems last Thursday 3/30. On Saturday I browsed the creative website and went to automatic updates and followed all the instructions. The updates had some problems with "Regsvr32 failures" and upon rebooting found that the applications that are depending on the proper detection of the sound device are not working. I get "Audio Device Supported by this Application is Not Detected" errors. So, I called creative support since I was within the 60 day window. Their first recommendation was to remove all software following their clean uninstall procedures, swap the card out with another slot and then reinstall the software. Well, same results, though more installation errors. I called back today and the technician said to create a new user account and try. I asked him what the next step would be if this didn't work and he said; "Reinstall Windows". Can you believe that! I'm flabergasted that Creative would expect me to scratch my dri've, reinstall windows because they write crappy software. Well, not just to complalin now that I have it off my chest-I'm wondering if I am the only one who has experienced this problem, or if others have faced and overcome the same hurdle.

Good luck, guys ... I had the same problem, among others, after updating drivers for Audigy2 ZS. Lost speakers and couldn't get them back, too. I finally managed to clear out all of the Creative stuff and reinstall the drivers from the installation CD, but the speaker assignments were permanently hosed. I even swapped the Audigy2 into a different slot on the motherboard, and it just got worse, until I was down to one speaker even though Windows said 5.. What I ended up doing was spending the majority of today restoring the entire Windows partition--I had an Acronis backup from last year on DVD--but it still isn't working quite the same.
No more auto updates EVER. And it would be awfully nice if Creative would put some of their previous version drivers back up.
