The auto lock screen function

the auto lock screen fucntion sometimes works, sometimes doesnt work. I use Ip4s.
Is this a problem of software?

I just updated to iOS 8.1 and I am not seeing this problem. I had not updated my iPad because I have been using it off and on for the past month, and decided to use it for a presentation I have tomorrow. When I connected my iPad to my Mac to copy over the presentation, iTunes told me that 8.1 was available. So I did the update, copied over the presentation to my iPad and started doing a run-thru with a few co-workers. There were a few times where we debating on what changes to make to slides, which easily took over 2 minutes, and the iPad never went to sleep. So maybe this has been fixed. It would be great if someone else was willing to give it a try, just to make sure I am not missing something.

Lock Screen function no longer displays the screensaver

Something is wrong with my Lock Screen function.
It no longer displays the screen saver when activated, but turns off the whole screen instead. The screensavers themselves work fine when activated automatically after the set time.
I've repaired permissions, deleted caches and trashed ~/Preferences/com.apple.screensaver.plist (plus the ByHost ones), but it's still not working.
Is this a known bug? Any ideas?

there is nothing wrong with your lock screen function. it never activated screensaver. it just locks screen. always been that way. if you want to lock screen and run screensaver check the box in securityy preferences to require password to wake from sleep or screensaver. then assign a hot corner to activate screensaver in exposé system preferences and use that.

My smart cover suddenly disables the auto lock function

Hi, until yesterday the smart cover on my new ipad3 was working fine, now it doesnt work anymore, 1. it disables the auto lock function, meaning when cover is on the ipad doesnt lock and 2.if I close the cover it doesnt lock the ipad automatically which it did until yesterday / anybody any idea ? Yes, this is a new account I set up lastbweekmprior to my holidays. That explains it. I thought I had a problem with the operating system, so many thanks for that.

Has anyone else had the problem where Siri on iOS 6 locks the phone after sending a text using a Bluetooth headset. I have the auto lock turned off but I have had it happen many times.

Siri is locking my iPhone 5 running ios6 after sending a text message using my Jawbone icon HD Bluetooth earpiece. Sometimes it will lock before the text is even sent. I have the auto lock turned off.

I have this problem too. Auto lock is off and Siri can be used from the lock screen but this defeats the purpose of hands free usage for example when you are on a bicycle and can't use the phone normally. After sending a message or a reply to one Siri locks the phone and you cannot hear new messages until you unlock the phone which can be potentially dangerous!
I'd love to see if there is a solution as I can't see any option in settings (either Siri settings or pass lock settings) to fix this.

Can the iOS7 lock-screen timeout interval be changed?

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?

It typically uses your Screen Saver definition in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver tab.

I would like to add:
you have incompatible software: start in SafeMode, read Woodmeister and see if it is free of issues.
Akamai is crap software needed or not, Huawei the same.
It is very possible that the keygenerator you used for generating a key for some softwares has infected your mac.
The non-regular software with the false key(s) are not compatible probably or generate malware. Luckily you can not update them automatically because the keygenerator blocked the software for contacting the developer... I propose to consider getting rid of those softwares by really good uninstalling.
You have a beautiful mac, don't degenerate it with crapped software. There are alternatives for expensive software, for example Adobe Photoshop has a free alternative (with a less beautiful interface) in GIMP. And so on.

I've got options for 2, 5, 10, 15 minutes and Never. Have you got an Exchange email account on your iPad ? 'Never' can be removed so as to protect a company's potentially sensitive email - they may not want the iPad being left/stolen with the emails on it accessible. If you remove the account the Never option will probably reappear

this might be a silly question, I'd love to use the default lock screen background that came with 10.3.1 (the one below) as my main background as well, but I can't find it on my phone.
Does anyone know where it is stored? (not in 'protected_media/wallpapers', apparently :-( )

That's your carrier default wallpaper, you can get it by going to options, display, then click on the advanced button, which looks like an equaliser and then click 'reset to carrier wallpaper'.
