The background is all checkerboard?

How do I reset to a blank (white) background?

Hi johnd45353714,
I am sorry, but using Adobe Acrobat Reader, you cannot change the background of your PDF file.
You might need to have Adobe Acrobat for the same.
The latest version is Acrobat DC in which you can choose 'Edit PDF' tool and go under More editing options to update the Background color (as shown below):
If you are using any other version of Acrobat, then let me know so that I can tell you the settings for the same.
Hope that helps.

  • Change the Background on all the 7911 phones

    Hello,
I want to change the background on all my Cisco 7911 (Cisco by my company logo) without the users have to make it on the phones
How i can change on all the phones ?
    Best regards

    Hi,
The only way to do this remotely for all phones is using a 3rd Party application such as PhoneView from UnifiedFX (http://www.unifiedfx.com)
Here is a short video (2 min) that covers the product:

  • How to run a safari window in the background at all times?

Ok, so you are probably wondering why I want to do this. Allow me to explain. The website twitch.tv is a streaming service for gamers, and there is a browser plugin specifically for the site called betterttv.
One feature of this plugin is that you will get a notification whenever someone you are following starts broadcasting, right in your notification center. But because its a browser plugin, and is specifically for this one website, it requires a safari window to be open with the website twitch.tv in order to push the notifications.
So my question is... how can I make a browser window stay open at all times and run in the background with this website open so that I get my notifications? I had the idea that I could retain the window even when I "quit" safari, because I can run a seperate instance of it in the form of Webkit Nightly which isnt affected by safari not being running.
But I am still oblivious as to how I would set up a window like this, and it has to start at login in addition to being running throughout the day. (I shut my Mac off at night.) Any amount of help would be appricated

I'm well aware of how to minimize thanks, and it *is* possible to have a Safari window open if you quit it, because you can run it as a separate instance by using WebKit Nightly...
I am just looking for the best way to set it up so that a WebKit Nightly window will open upon startup, navigate to that webpage, and hide itself. Preferably in the background. This could be done using a .command file or a startup script in automator. My question is.. What is the best direction to take?

  • IMac starts in the background but all I see is a stalled spinning wheel

    Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help me track down the problem with my Intel iMac (running Snow Leopard).
Basically, when I try to start it up, the spinning wheel freezes after a few seconds AND then I hear the sound of Skype starting up in the background. However, I don't see anything except for the gray screen with the stalled spinning wheel and the Apple logo.
It looks like the OS has started running in the background, however, it's not showing it on screen.
I've tried to reinstall the OS, run it in Safe Mode, reset PRAM, HOWEVER, nothing works - i never get passed the gray screen and the stalled spinning wheel.
Someone mentioned this might be due to corrupted/dead RAM chips...
    Hope you can help me!
    Thank you!!!
    e

If you think there may be a hardware problem, run the Apple hardware test. Choose the extended test when prompted. You'll need your original OS X disks, and the test will take awhile to complete.
You may have seen this Apple note on a gray screen at startup, as you've done some of the steps.

  • How do I format the background of all pages in a Pages document simultaneously?

I want to mark a document "Copyright" or "Draft" or "For Discussion Only" and I want to be able to do it quickly instead of applying a text box with that message to each page.
Is it possible to change the background all at once?  My reference point is MSPowerpoint's master slide function.  Does something like this exist in Pages?

    Dear Jerry,
Thank you for your prompt answer.
    Here is what I understand.
    1)  If I have:
    a) an Existing Pages document that I would like to stamp with "Draft" across every page, I would follow your instructions to another person outlined above, and I would have to do it manually for every page.  This is true because (a1) each page in my document is its own section and (a2) the existing document was created without a Section Master.  I did follow your instructions, and I got a beautiful "Draft" stamp.
    HOWEVER...for a
    b) a New Pages document, where there are multiple sections, what do I do?  Can I have a Section Master that cuts across sections?
When I followed your instructions to the letter, I got the "Draft" to appear in the background.  I moved it to "Section Master."  When I typed a few pages, and the section remained the same, the "Draft" appeared.  But, when I wanted to add another type of page, "Draft" did not appear on the new slide.  I created a new page by Insert > Section >Text Page.  How can I get the "Draft" to appear on all new sections?  Is it possible?
    Thanks!

  • How to set the background for all components?

    hi
Does anybody know how to set the DEFAULT background color in an application.. I need it because in jdk 1.3 the default bgcolor is grey and in 1.5 it is white.. and I wish white as well.. so to make it also white in jdk 1.3 I need to use the (a bit annoying) anyContainer.setBackground( Color.white ); and these are lots in my app.. • Run the SOST transaction in the Background with, or without, a BDC

    Hello all,
I was trying to write a Z-Program that would create a BDC that executed Transaction SOST to resend fax messages.  It turned out that I could not record the ALV Grid that contains most of the selection/filter criteria functions because those functions exist in the ALV Grid.  Some fields exist above the ALV Grid and could be recorded. I record them and used them in my BDC to filter for the faxes I wished sent.  I also used a saved layout for the filtering I would have applied if I cold have recorded the ALV Grid.
All seemed well in testing until I attempted to run my Z-Program in the Background.  The Z-Program creates the BDC which in tern executes the resending of faxes.  I did not realize that the SOST transaction had a completely different screen layout in the Background.  That was something pointed out to me when I was instructed to Record the BDC in "Simulate Background Mode".  It doesn't seem like I can enter selection criteria in the Background version of the screen at all.
Has anyone been able to run the SOST transaction in the Background with, or without, a BDC?  If not has anyone ever automated the SOST functionality in a Z-Program?  Can SOST run in the background at all?
    Thanks

    Hi,
try to resend it using program RSCONN01.

  • How come the backgrounds don't work in photobooth?

I tried using the backgrounds for photo booth, and my picture always turns out really distorted, what should I do?

What exactly is happening? Does the background work, then disappears as soon as you get in frame or is removes the wrong parts of the image, or is it something else?
Because if it's that (which is a problem some people have had), I think it could be the auto exposure on the camera screwing up the background. All it's doing is comparing the pixels before and after, and if the exposure changes on the iSight camera (also if the background and foreground images are too similar), it will ruin the effect (which is why all the demos of backgrounds were done in professionally-lit environments).
If that's not what the problem was, I'm not really sure.

  • Can I change the background when I use iMovie?

Hi, I am a newcomer to Mac and iMovie.
I have been very pleased with the results. But what I would really like to do now is to change the background on family films.
    Is this possible?
I am sure I have seen this done somewhere, perhaps one could buy additional software? Thanks fr any advice.
    Cheers-Chatch.

It would be possible ..but long-winded and complicated.
Neither your Mac, nor iMovie, "knows" which parts of your picture are "background" and which are the interesting family members, or the "foreground".
So you'd have to change some characteristic of what you call the "background", so that iMovie - or some other program - can identify the "background" ..to iMovie it's all just "flat" moving smudges!
You might have to change what you call the "background" to all one colour, and then use iMovie, or a downloadable 'Plug-In' (..extra bit of program for iMovie..) to substitute another picture, or scene, for what you've coloured, say, blue.
(..In mainstream movies and TV, actors are often shot against a blank blue or green screen, and then a shot of other scenery may be substituted for that blank, empty, featureless colour. But without identifying which regions are "background" and which aren't, there's no way to substitute one thing for another..)
Various other movie-editing programs let you draw on an area of the picture, or fill a region with colour ..but not iMovie itself: it's really for editing, not "compositing" ..which is what you want to do!
Other people may suggest ways in which it might be done with QuickTime Pro - another Mac program - or by copying some of your movies' shots into 'PhotoShop' or 'Graphic Converter', and tweaking things there.
Some downloadable Plug-Ins can do some of the job, e.g; (click on these blue links) Stupendous Software, or GeeThree's Slick Plug-Ins, or cf/x. You can find others by typing "iMovie Plug-Ins" into Google.
    Happy hunting..

  • An applescript to change the background color for all finder windows

I'll start off by telling you what I am trying to achieve, then show you what I've tried.
I have a macbook with several HDD's attached. what I want is for each of those hdd to have a specific finder window background color. so no matter where I am in that hdd the background color will always be the same. so for instance if I set the background color of hdd 2 to blue then as long as I see a blue background I know that I'm within hdd 2.
I've tried setting up an applescript to do this but can only get it to change the open finder window, and none of the subfolders have their backgrounds changed.
here is what I have so far:
    tell application "Finder"
tell the icon view options of the front Finder window
    set the background color to {52942, 54484, 31097}
    end tell
    end tell
so how do I get this to apply to all subfolders without opening each one and running the script.
thanks in advance for any and all help with this

    According to this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AppleScript/2.1/en/as2039.html
it seems that the various options can only be set while the window is open and in icon view.
Rather than manually opening the window of every single folder on the hard drive, it should be possible to write a script to open every folder in sequence, make sure it is in icon view, change its background, then close its window. I have never been any good at the "actions within actions" procedure needed for folders within folders, so maybe someone else with the necessary knowledge and experience might be able to assist in this regard. Such a script would probably take a few minutes to complete while it ran through "every folder of every folder", but it sure would be quicker to have the process automated than to do it by hand - computers are really good at repetitive tasks (as long as the instructions are accurate, of course!).
On the other hand, you might like to try the following:
open a few windows in icon view, choose Show View Options in the View menu (I'm in System 10.4), click the radio button All Windows, click the Color radio button under Background, then choose your color. It might achieve what you are trying to do.

  • I am using a Hughes Satellite and I am having a problem with using all my bandwidth without even using my computer.  Is there a way to shut things off that I don't need running all the time in the background.

I am using Hughes satellie for my internet provider.  I am having a problem using all my bandwidth each day.  Is there a way from using this bandwidth.  I am using even when I am not using my computer.  Is there a way to turn off things that are running in the background.

It depends a lot on what you have installed and what apps you run. Here's a suggestion:  Get Little Snitch and see what processes are accessing your internet connection.

  • Having a problem with mini dvi to hdmi.  Can see the background, but must move all screens all the way to the right to see on tv.  Any solutions?

I'm having an issue with setting up mini dvi to hdmi.  I can connect and see the background picture from my macbook (approx 4 years old) but in order to see any screens or video, I have to move the screen almost all the way off the macbook display to the right.  Any ideas why this would happen?  Also, there is no audio, although when I bought the adapter and cable at the Mac store, they assured me it would handle both.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. In System Preferences>Displays on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the TV and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will makethe second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in ClamshellMode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the TV your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.
Or if you want to work on the MacBook screen while showing it on a TV you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box.
No Mini-DVI adapter can carry audio. The only MacBook that sends audio is the Mid 2010 model 7,1 through a Mini DisplayPort.
If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
