The batteries on my Magic Mouse are lasting one week

The batteries on my Magic Mouse are lasting one week. Please help.

How old is the Mouse.  When did you last change the batteries.  Are they rechargeable or regular.
Here are some notes I have made about batteries.
Batteries.  Here are a few notes I've put together.    Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems.  Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.  I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.    Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.  The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.  Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note.  Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.  The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.  Note.  Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device.  You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.

    Which brand is THE best in rechargeable batteries for Magic Mouse AND last long ?

    I've been using the Apple rechargables in my keyboards/mice/trackpads for over a year now.  They last 3-4 weeks in my usage pattern but I have spares ready to go when they get weak.

  • Types of batteries compatible with Magic Mouse

    Hi There,
    Recently I bought a magic mouse, and till now it has been amazing. But as all users, I too face serious battery drain issue with magic mouse, but I think its worth its usage .
    So I thought to switch to couple of rechargeable batteries for my magic mouse after reading some threads here. But now I have got a doubt. I read the magic mouse user guide and it says :
    +You can use alkaline, lithium, or rechargeable AA batteries in your mouse.+
    So My doubt is that whether I can use rechargeable Nickel Cadmium(Ni-Cd) batteries or not? Also what all kind of batteries are compatible with magic mouse?

    Hi zulficarr
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    If you have Nickel Cadmium(Ni-Cd) batteries they will work just fine, however if you shopping for rechargeable's the NiMH batteries are better and last longer.

    Also note that the Apple Store sells a Battery Charger with 6 NiMH batteries.

  • Will the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse work with my iMac G5?

    My Dad just sent me his old iMac G5 17". and I was wondering if the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse will work with it!? I don't really have a place to put the computer.. so I was hoping to get the wireless mouse and keyboard so I don't have to be connected to the computer.

    I have the most recent (2 AA batteries, not 3) wireless keyboard and magic mouse running on a PowerMac G5. Your iMac G5 has the same class of processor, which isn't Intel. My Mac has built-in bluetooth support, which is what these products use. I'm unsure if your iMac has bluetooth built-in or not, but if it doesn't, you can purchase the Belkin bluetooth USB dongle. That has been widely reported to work just fine within OSX.
    Anyway, yes, your iMac G5 can run the wireless keyboard and mouse. You just might have to work a little for it.
    Good luck!

    It doesn't seem like this is possible in 10.9.1.  Can someone at Apple confirm or provide a solution?

    Hi PietralataKK,
    I understand your mouse was working fine but now you have lost the multitouch features of the mouse.  You don't mention if you can click or move the cursor with it.
    For this please start with this article to troubleshoot,

    Then for the "trackpad" functionality check out,

    Yes, it talks about Magic Trackpad, but the top of the Magic Mouse is like that.

  • Get results from database for the last one week ?

    Hi All,
    I have to make a query for retrieving the data for the last one week from a table say "Orderdata".
    So can anybody please tell me how to retrieve date of last weak from the current date. I mean if current date is 12/08/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy) then I would be needing date as :--
    12/01/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy) to 12/07/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy).
    To more clear, here is the query that am using :
    select * from orderdata where orderdate between 12/01/2004 AND 12/07/2004
    I know I would be needing java.sql.timestamp class to set date . but it is the last thing to do .
    First I have to get date of last weak...........
    Here is the code----------that i have just start to write ..
    Calendar cal;
    TimeZone tz;
    String estTimezone="GMT-05:00";
    tz=TimeZone.getTimeZone(estTimezone);
    cal=new GregorianCalendar(tz);
    cal.setTimeZone(tz);
    String currentdate=String.valueOf(cal.get(Calendar.MONTH)+1);
    currentdate+="/"+String.valueOf(cal.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH)-1);
    currentdate+="/"+String.valueOf(cal.get(Calendar.YEAR));
    out.println(currentdate);And assume if current date is 12/1/2004 (mm/dd/yyyy) then subtracting -1 form the current date will give 12/00/2004 so not getting the correct result .
    Hope it is clear to all................
    Please Help !

  • I can't able to use gmaps from last one week

    I cannot able to locate places in google maps from last one week.before it was perfect ?

    Have you tried hard resetting your iPhone?
    Unfortunately, the Apple Discussion Boards can't really help with Google's Apps.
    Are you getting any errors or anything? What is it doing exactly?

  • IPad (3rd Gen) From last one week it's screen jumbles up at times and also getting some burning smell out of it.

    iPad (3rd Gen) which I purchased 3 week back in Bangalore. From last one week it's screen jumbles up at times and also getting some burning smell out of it. Any idea what could be wrong?
    These are the some of instances of screen jumbling I faced
    1) all the app icons stacked up on top left corner. I could move them anywhere on the screen but could not start the app. Later killed all apps and starting iPad rectified it.
    2) starting any app was giving blank screen, restart rectified it
    3) home screen and lock screen both merged up. I could see both of them together whenever I swiped on the screen. Again restart rectified it.
    Can I get replacement of this piece, I believe there is some serious hardware issues in it.
    Rakesh

    Handed over iPad to support group named "imagine"in Bangalore Saturday evening. There is no direct support available from Apple in India. Know what.. These "imagine" guys are highly incopetent..
    When I checked the status in evening, their reply was that there is no issue with iPad, even though burning smell was still threre if I keep the nose close to iPad, but during working for 4-5 hours it starts building up.
    When I asked how did they tested it, reply was that they kept playing games on my iPad and they didn't find any issue.. Rediculous answer..
    They even didn't bother to open up the piece or running test of full CPU/RAM and Graphics utilization. Now asking me to take it back to wait for either complete breakdown or burndown, no matter where I am.. Airport, hospital, client meeting..
    I use my iPad mostly for client presentations, I don't want to be in a situation that the display again jumbles up during a demo session giving impression  that the problem is with our application..
    I wish I wouldn't have invested in this device through BYOD program..

  • New iMac 27 with the Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse

    Is it just my keyboard or does the wireless keyboards that come with the iMac 27inch just SUCK? ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS losing its connection. The keyboard is ALWAYS losing its connection. The mouse, barely, but sometimes, maybe once every 2 days. The keyboard. Several times an feffin day. What gives? Should I have them exchanged or are others experiencing this BS?
    Did Apple just RUSH out the new iMacs without properly QAing????? WT*?

    I thought I read that with two batteries there is no problem-only with three.
    I can only provide a sample of one but the new keyboard which came with my i7 is still at 100%. Regarding the Magic Mouse, I am on my second set of batteries. The i7 is on day 40 of use. I also have a Magic Mouse paired with my 24" 2.8 Intel iMac which has a wired keyboard. The 24" sits idle much of the time and the original batteries show 91%.

  • Same batteries 92% in Magic Mouse but 10% in Trackpad???

    So now I am scratching my head.
    I was trying to find an answer as to why my battery life is so terrible for my Apple wireless keyboard and the Apple trackpad (for the mac Mini).
    I also have the Magic mouse that I use every now and then. I was using it and saw that the batteries were at 92%. I figured I would test them on the trackpad, only to get a low battery message. What?! Nonsense. Same thing with the other batteries that were in the trackpad minutes ago - 88% in the Magic Mouse.
    So what is going on here? Which file I have to delete?
    Thanks!
    <Edited By Host>

    So I deleted the following and now everything is back to normal:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple related to trackpad, keyboard and mighty mouse
    To do that you have to disconnect those devices.
    Now everything is back to normal.
