The Battery life indicator on N96
to start i must say i'm very happy with my N96..it's prob one of the best phones i've had...i just noticed that the batt. indicator on the main screen does not go down as and when...it shows full batt and then all of a sudden when i'm on a call or doin sth else it tells me low batt. the batt life it self is not the prob just the indication...ne one else have this prob...all help is appreciated.

This is very common on Nokia phones. The battery indicator is not linear.
While in a call or using WiFi or 3G data the phone is draining the battery at a very high rate, so the battery voltage will drop faster than in standby mode, this causes the bars to drop faster.
Anyways, it's like your car fuel gage or if you have a trip computer in your car it gives a prediction based on the current power consumption, if the rate of consumption changes dramatically (like making a phone call) the indicator will need to catch up to this new rate of usage and hence it would seem like it went to 5-6 bars to 1-2 very shortly.
I don't know if this makes sense but this is how I understand it.

Apple Bluetooth headset battery life indicator drops VERY rapidly
hi all. Just bought the apple Bluetooth headset yesterday. After it is fully charged the battery life indicator drops to half after only being on stanby for about 15 minutes. I tried fully draining it and recharging but no difference. Is this normal? Thanks.
Same issue on two "old" (with dock) Apple BT Headsets purchased on 3G release day. Returned and exchanged for 2 "new" ones (no dock, $30 refund) two weeks later. The new headsets have the same abysmal battery life. Note, however, that the battery life indicator is not terribly accurate - after dropping into the red by the end of the day, if left on standby mine doesn't actually run out of power and shut down for almost 48 hours.
IMHO, if you like the easy pairing and can charge your Apple BT Headset at some point during the day (I used one of the $30 refunds to buy an extra travel cable for work), keep it. If you need to go all day and use the headset heavily, get a different brand.

E75 poor battery life indicator

Has anyone experienced problems with the battery meter (and battery life in general) on the E75? I consistantly have half to 3/4 charge then the meter drops drastically to about 2 bars, then dies shortly after. This has become increasingly annoying as I never really know how long the phone has left, and have to constantly keep it on the charger.

However, my battery life so far so good, it lasts 2 days on average, sometimes 3 days if low number of calls/sms.
I found out it's 2 contributors that affect the battery life tremendously. 1 is if bluetooth is left constantly on, it drains battery quite fast. 2 is if I enable my Notes Traveler to auto-sync which utilize the 3.5G data connectivity, it drains battery extremely fast. Less than a day the battery life would be low and requires charging.
Looks like this phone isn't giving good battery life if running heavy data connnectivities. -
Iphone 3G 3.0 update - battery life indicator
My battery life indicator is frozen at full after update to version 3.0 - its not moving and will just randomly die...it says its full when charging too - does anyone else have this problem/any ideas? Thanks
I have this problem also since V3 - but it is just a display problem, the actual battery life is fine. It most commonly fails to recharge (on the display menubar) though the display on full-screen is fine. A reset restores it but the problem will recur.
More seriously the same problem affects phone connection; we are near the edge of coverage and the menubar will show 'no coverage' even in a strong signal until the phone is reset (it never changes on its own). Sometimes it seems this is true (that is the phone does not connect) other times it seems just the display. -
Is there a more 'in depth' battery life indicator anywhere?
The battery icon top left isn't that accurate- i'd like to be able to see how much in terms of time i have left- is that do-able?

Also- is there a 'home' shortcut for Safari do you know?There are utilities for other phones that do this. Yes, it's useful.
Some are pretty simple: just look at the current average discharge rate and level, then figure out the remaining time. Pretty much like your car's computer telling you how many miles of gas are left at your current rate of consumption.
Pretty neat to watch the remaining time change as you turn on/off features.
One thing that surprises me is that no iPhone tech site has yet put a meter in line with the battery to find out once and for all how much power the different radios / features actually use. I've done calculations, but they're pretty rough. I mean, I've seen people claiming that WiFi uses more power than EDGE, and I don't believe it, unless they simply do more surfing because the WiFi is faster. -
How reliable is the Battery Status Indicator?
I have had my MacBook Pro for a month now, and I don't know if I can trust my battery status indicator a the top of the MacOSX screen
It usually goes a lot shorter than the indicated percentage or the calculated battery life time.
I have another issue with this MBP.
Has anyone actually been able to use MBP for as close to 5 hours which is the battery life posted on the apple website?
I set my MBP to lowest backlight, no programs or widgets running, wireless and bluetooth off and kept it one for hours. The battery lasted a about 3hours and 49 minutes. Is there something wrong with this battery?As you use your MBP on battery it collects information on your battery usage style and uses that to predict battery run times. based on that it's reasonable accurate providing you calibrate your battery ever 4-8 weeks or so. Also, the data it collects the more accurate it can predict your battery time.
Once you start using your MBP differently though the accuracy can vary but should still remain "reasonably" accurate.
I personally find the times reasonably accurate altough for the most part I run off the percentage rather than time.

No-one will ever get 5 hours. As you note from the specs it's "based on usage" or more to the point, it's non-usage. Those time are achieved by having it on my not being "used".
Average battery times should range from 2.5-4 hours depending on your actual usage. -
How can you get OS Lion back if you already downloaded Mavericks? I CANNOT live with the battery life of 2 hours!! HELP

Only thing running on it is Chrome, and the battery life is only 3:38. Am I doing anything wrong?
It also depends upon what you are doing on Chrome. Video and flash will eat up battery life. You are probably doing nothing wrong.
You might open Activity Monitor and see what applications are taking a lot of CPU%. Make certain that you have selected 'All Processes".

A1281 is the battery i got for my 15inch MBP. Is the battery life only 2 - 3 hours for a new battery on this device.

Its expensive so comments would be appreciated.I say it depends on your model? average usage is about 3-4 hours depending on what you use and how you use it. Adobe Flash player eats a lot of battery power so if you are on a web page and has flash player, likely that it's eating up battery because of it's power thirsty.
Also check your systems activity monitor. It could be possible that one of your program/apps did not close right and may be still running. So check for that and end the process if necessary.
If you have a backlight keyboard, in a broad daylight, it's not necessary to have it on.
I also suggest that you use it plugged in most of the time, and it's not going to hurt or damage the battery if you have it plugged in all the time. Only use on battery if you are going to places that has no access to the outlet. If you are at home, then keep it plugged in. Just keep in mind to fully drain the battery until it your MBP turns off on it's own. This is the calibration process so that you have the most accurate battery readings.
The standard for 2011 MBP is 7 hours on battery. Before that model is 10 hours, but i don't believe that previous models will last 10 hours. Last week I calibrated my battery readings from fully charged and it took 9 hours to completely drain out the battery (I have a 2011 model),
If you think it's not normal and that your battery doesn't meet your expectation then set up an appointment with the genius bar and have them test the battery. They will determine whether it is faulty or not. -
After uploading our phones with the latest update, we have noticed that the battery life has deminished considerably. I now have to charge my phone overnight and two or three times a day. Prior to the update, my battery life lasted me at least a full day. We have several phones in our office and the ones that have updated (4) now have issue holding a charge/battery life. I really liked this phone and can not believe that you are now going to charge us $79 a battery to fix what is most definately a problem with your latest update. I know other people outside of our company that are having the same problem. Not to mention when I called AT&T it was confirmed to me that they are hearing the same issue and then some from other customers as well. Your own people, once I talked to them earlier today, told me they are showing a history of issues that are showing up after the update was put in place. Of course she tried to say, "Maybe the age of the battery and the update both contributed". Whatever.
I want you all to know how disappointed I am in your company for the handling of this issue. I always thought "Apple" was the line I didn't have to worry about having any types of issue. And that you all would stand behined your product 100%. Now I am not so sure.
I would love to hear back from your company on how you perceive the issue with all of these phones that prior to the update didn't have any issues and how after the update THEY ARE NOW having issues. I do not believe this was an issue due to the age of a battery and that was pretty lame to say so. It was fine and now its not.
Please feel free to contact me and help me figure out a way to pay for all of the batteries that will be needed for our company to contiue doing business as needed.

I don't know why the battery life has just become so poor. I can listen to 1 song and lose 1/2% battery life. I had all the settings the same as before updating to ISO6 and now it just goes. I did drop it around the same time but I have a stong case so I don't see how this should effect it. If anyone knows how to fix it would be a great help because I used to love iPod but I am very dissapointed.

I upgraded my macbook pro from OS Lion to OS Mavericks. When unplugged, it heats up exceedingly and the battery life is extremely short. What to do?
Installation of the new OSX is very heavy hdd load, in addition spotlight reindexes all the files on your computer - it may be a few hours. If in the future will be the same macbook hot, you should contact your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider.
May be required to clean notebook cooling system.
You can also install any monitoring utility sensors to your mac such as Hardware Monitor and look at the value of the temperature sensors.

What is wrong with my phone if the battery life is draining while the phone is in the lock position?
Last night my phone just started getting extremely dim and I had it on the brightest setting. It was so dim you had to look at it under a light just to see what was on the screen. It then proceeded to lock down. I plugged it in but it would not charge. Finally, after almost an hour of being plugged in it finally started charging. It is acting completely normal except that it is constantly warm and the battery life keeps draining even when it is not in use. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Can it be fixed? Normally, how much would this cost me? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am very disappointed with the battery life I am getting out of my Iphone 5S 64G. I charge it every night, and would be lucky to make 15 to 20 minutes of calls during the day and yet I am lucky to get much more than 12 hours of life out of the battery.
I have to make a conscious decision not to use it to avoid it running out on me. I had it back to the Apple Store last week and they ran diagnostic checks on ot and said that the hardware was within specs.
They replaced the software as it was showing that Springboard had crashed on several occasions. The other problem I was complaining about was that at least 2 or 3 times a day, the phone would refuse to wake up when I hit the home button. It would take sometimes up to a minute of pressing the button before anything would light up. The guy at the Apple store said that this was caused by Springboard crashing and that this would also be what is reducing the battery life.
I did notice that after they replaced the software, the waking up problem appeared fixed for a few days, but the battery life had not improved. Now the waking up problem is starting to return.
It is very annoying and somewhat embarrassing when you are with a client and go to make a call and your shiny flashy new Iphone 5 won't even light up. Especially when you have to borrow your clients Nokia....My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!
