Not sure about the Nike, but do NOT buy the InCase armband. This product is HORRIBLE for at least 3 reasons. I am tall and of normal build. Tried to wear it while working out (have worn other iPods and MP3 players in armbands/cases while working out with no problems at all).
    1) The strap is barely long enough to fit over my biceps (which is normal sized). The strap is not flexible, so it's loose when your arm is extended, tight when your arm is flexed. When doing a normal arm exercise (not even a biceps exercise), with a normal amount of weight, the very first time I tried to wear this, it popped right off my arm (literally).
    2) This generation Nano is longer than previous ones. The case is even longer (longer than necessary). It barely even fit on my arm, length-wise, between my elbow and my shoulder (and my arms are somewhat longer than average). Also, it was so long that I had to try to wear it in only one position, otherwise I couldn't really even bend my arm (during the 1 minute it stayed on my arm to begin with).
    3) The case has a thin opening at one end but none at the other, and is difficult to get in and out. Thus you can either have access to the earphone plug or the "lock" button, but not both. I actually "solved" this by creating a small hole in the bottom that allowed me to stick the earphone plug through it, allowing me access (sort of) to both ends. (Unfortunately, did this before testing the product out and can't return it now, if I could have to begin with.)
Do NOT buy this product. I wish I hadn't.

  • The Best Case For Ipod Nanos is?????

HI EVERYBODY....im new to this whole posting thing so if im doing anything wrong, then just tell me. Anyways, i had heard the nanos scratch really easily so im trying to find out what case is best for the iPod nano.If you also have any advice for using iPod nanos,i would like to know.

Is there a brick and mortar retail store somewhere that one can walk in to and touch/feel a wide assortment of these cases? It can be difficult to really understand how these things look, feel, effect one's ability to use the iPod's controls, effect the viewability of the screen, impede (or not) the connector(s), provide a lanyard, how much bulk and weight they add, and so forth....unless you can pick them up and slip your nano in and work it for a few minutes. I'd hate to order one online just to find it a disappointment....

  • Best headphones for ipod nano 5gen 8gb music wise?

    Hi,
Just got my first ever ipod. I got the earbuds and am reasonably happy with them, but they do not provide the eardrum damaging bass and volume capabilities I require, even at full volume. I have tried my other pair of full sized Seinheisser headphones, which I use for my Sony Floor system and they have improved the quality of the sound immensely, but the volume has dropped right off. Any suggestions for maybe some mid sized earphones that will give me that high quality, and volume I need to for my dance tracks? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks

It is a subjective issue, but thats what I got for myself

Make sure it is Westone 3 and not Westone UM3X (which is a monitor earphone)

  • What is the best case for the nano?

hey guys. Im getting a free nano with my macbook and I wanted to know which nano case was the best one? Also, if I put the case on it could I still use the nano armband? Thanks.

you might want to check out
    iskin.com
they have really protective cases and they just came out with some armband thingys
but if you want a solid case, apple sells some that are clear all the way around so you can see everything on your ipod, i don't think it works with an armband though

  • QUESTION: what is the BEST armband out there to avoid sweat build-up?

I've just finished running with my Nano 4G and a Belkin armband, but the workout ended abruptly, most probably because of sweat between the transmitter and the iPod...having read several reviews and different opinions, I still don't know which one is the BEST armband on the basis of the following conditions:
    1 - normal biceps (not skinny);
    2 - absolute protection from sweat and moisture for the iPod and the Nike+ kit;
    3 - comfortable.
Is it the Apple one? The newest Nike one? Other?
Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated...THANKS!

    No one?

  • Is there any hope for a Nano 6th gen that went through the washing machine?

Is there any hope for a Nano 6th Gen that went through the washing machine?  All of the devices contents are showing up in iTunes when connected but the device itself is not working.

    Hello kpratta,
There is some hope. I have heard of someone putting the ipod in a bag of dry rice and putting the bag in a dark place for a 4-5 days. After that they used this:
    www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
This has the best chance. The rice absorbs any liquid in the ipod.
    Hope this helps.

  • Some Pro's Opinions on the Best iPod for exercise and while using the MBP.

Is it true that because of the moving parts that the classic should not be used for any type of exercise? When they first came out, I never thought about this or never got this from anybody else so I used my Classic for year without any trouble. I do not do aerobic exercise since the ear buds would not stay in my ear canal, but it seemed to work great. this was a long time ago, I think around 2001, but it got stolen so that ended that for me.
I am now in the market for another one, getting some better Westone 3 ear plugs, but I am not sure what iPod to get. I am not into breaking iPods, now that I have this information that was not a problem many years ago, but I would like some feedback if anybody cares to share their experience. I would need a case and wondering if anybody has used a case that works well for exercise as far as sweat clipping it somewhere, etc.
finally, has anybody come across the articles they have on here somewhere that applecare uses when we all cal in with a problem, they are the same articles that applecare (I heard this, but makes sense) uses as a starting point in trouble shooting problems. Anybody know how to get in to that archive?
As far as the ear plugs, I know a headset would be better to use with the MBP, but since I am spending a fortune for the Westone 3 ear plugs, I am trying to see if they will sound good on the MBP.
    God Bless.

iPods with hard drives such as the Classic (the older iPod you describe was not a Classic by the way. It's counterintuitive but the Classic is the most recent series of hard drive based iPods) will be more prone to failure if subjected to jarring. "More prone" doesn't mean that the will fail you ever exercise with them. My first gen iPod (the 5gig brick) was used for running when I owned it and is still being used for running by the friend I gave it to.
I also used my 3rd gen Nano, 2nd gen shuffle and all three generations of Touches for exercise, including running. The are all flash based so less susceptible to problems from jarring or bouncing. The Nano and the 2nd and 3rd gen touch can be used with the Nike+ Sport kit which is nice if you walk or run. The Touch also has applications that can be useful when exercising. For example, I use an interval timer. The 2nd gen Shuffle is my iPod of choice when racing as it's easier to hide if they want to give me a hard time about it and because it's so light. Before the Touch supported the Nike+ Sport Kit, I used the Nano a lot.
My best advice, especially if you're not running, is to buy whichever iPod suits most of your needs. If the Classic suits you because of it's greater capacity, for example, go for it.
    Best of luck.

Hi i received the nano 7th gen for Christmas and I only seem to get 5 hours of battery life. I use the Bluetooth and Nike app so I expect more drain on the battery.  But I got more time out of running with my iPhone. Does this sound normal? I thought I should get close to 30 hrs of just play time alone.
ALso, my wife got me the Belkin armband to run with the nano but I sweat through the band resulting in the back of the iPod to get wet. Surely this is not good. Anyone have a recommendation for an armband that keeps moisture away from the pod?

iPod Nano are small and they don't use Wi-Fi access so you get less power time on a Nano. As for iPhone, since you got apps, Wi-Fi + 3G access, and everything else, they give you more time so you can keep using. Nanos are ment to listen to music, listen to radio, view your photos, watch videos (without Wi-Fi) and since you got BlueTooth on the nano, it counts as wireless access so it drains your battery faster.

  • What is the best product for using itunes only?

I am considering buying a laptop / notebook / ipad or whatever for using itunes only.  The goal would be to add all cd's to the product and then increase my collection via downloads only going forward.
Can anyone recommend the best product for this please?  I have an ipod nano and I'm new to the iphone, so I'm an Apple convert, although I'd consider a non-Apple product too (sorry Apple!).
    Budget is tight!
    Thanks in advance

Without a bit more info, it's hard to answer your question.
How many CD's do you intend to keep on the PC/Mac/iPad as an iPad has a maximum storage of aprox 55Gb's for the top model, whereas even a basic PC laptop is likely to have 150Gb plus of space. Plus you are going to need a PC/Mac to copy the CD's in the first place, unless you intend to buy all your music from the iTunes store.
For me I would look at either a MacBook if you can go to the £1000 price bracket, or look at a MacMini and cheap screen then transfer the music to your iPod/iPhone or sadly from a price point of view you may have to go the Windows route as a basic laptop will start at £400

  • Protective Coating for the Nano?

I was wondering if anyone has tried putting some sort of protectant or sealant on their ipod to prevent the scratching.
I read an article about colorwarepc which paints ipods for a fee. After they paint it, they spray on a clear protective coating.
Has anyone tried this at home using something like an acrylic sealant made for cars, etc? It seems to be a natural extension of Brasso.
