I can use it only 8/9 hours. 30 min to 1 hour call+ 1.5 hours web browsing+ 15 snaps by camera+ 20 mins video = Battery low + 10 mins music = Battery Empty

Discharge it to around 50-60% then completely shut it off. Store at around room temperature. When you return connect the charger and let the battery fully charge.

USB Mass Storage is the possibility to use your phone as a simple flash memory without the need of any additional drivers and apps, just plug it to you PC and write/read/copy the data.
UPnP is a something like a Wi-Fi protocol which allows u to view you images or listen to music on a compatible devices (PC, TV, music centers etc) over the air.

The most important problem in new firmware is in gallery part.After installing new firmware I copy my images in image folder in 8gb hdd.after that every time I go to gallery after 2 or 3 seconds it automatically comes out and I cannot use gallery to view my images .Accroding to some reports I reinstall firmware again but problem still exist.What can I do.

1. Double click the home button to bring up the multitasking bar.
2. Swipe right until the last set of icons is displayed in the multitasking bar (these will include play/pause and skip buttons for iPod or Pandora).
3. The furthest left icon looks like a circular arrow - touch this icon to enable or disable rotation lock on the iPhone.
4. A rotation lock icon will appear in the status bar next to the battery charge icon when rotation lock is enabled. This looks like a circular arrow around a padlock.

The real generic n95

it seems that some of us here are not able to use our n95 to full potential
those who bought the handsets from networks seem to have the internet telephone removed (complaints about voda,orange) and those who bought them from other mobile dealers "sim free/generic firmware" still seem to be having some other applications missing (apparantly internet folder)
me personally do not have the internet folder with certain apps but was a bit priviledged to have had a proto which contained that folder along with a few apps in it
is it a matter that the internet folder was removed from the final sales product? or is it that we here in the UK may have unlocked phones but not the generic fw?
anyone outside of the uk or even in the uk that has a working internet telephone and internet folder on their n95 please allow us to know here please as a few of us are a bit confused as to if we actually have the generic fw n95 or not

I have Internet tel. in Tools... but I do not seem to have internet call services.

Where is the file stored (N95)

I sent my N95 an MP3 from my computer at work via blue tooth. I opened it and was there on able to access the song through the music player.
I wanted to be able to access the file from my home PC so I connected the N95 via the USB interface and navigated through the phone via windows but the file does not appear to be in any of the directorys. I also had a look on the phone through the File Manager and it wasn't there either. Are there hidden directorys that my N95 can store files in?

And t1mmclaren, install X-plore and open it and press4 to get access to inbox. Move your file to storage memory and then try accessing it in your PC!

Charging all day can cause the bettery life shorter??

i bought my bold 9780 yesterday. and i'm work using computer. so i think maybe i can connect my bold to my computer so the battery will always full when i go out. is that okay? i've saw someone post at another forum that i shouldn't connect my bold after battery is full...
so can anyone give me an idea how the power works in blackberry? i own macbook. and they say i should connect the mac everytime i use it. so the life cycle of the battery won't increase. so the battery will last longer. is it the same with blackberry? (it's the opposite for another brand of notebook which they say will destroy the battery if i connect the power all the time when i use it).

Well, since you can't over charge a BB, I wouldn't worry about it. Tell those "people" to research, like you are doing, before making assumptions.

What to fix on the next Nokia N95 firmware?

Hi people! I am asking you to submit your opinion what to fix on the next nokia firmware. Let's talk about bugs and other isues that Nokia need to fix!

1. Camera: - I would like to have the posibility to remeber the last scene selected. If I am in hollyday and wish to take picture of mountains, I don't want every time to lose time to change my scene from auto to landscape. Or if I setup some user defined setings, I want those settings to be available imediatley when I open my camera lens.
- I would like bether picture qualitty. I'm sure that can be improved (I saw this happening with other phones; since first fw to the last the picture quality was improved very mutch)
2. Music player: - I wold like to be able to create playlists by selecting a single folder. For example I copy a new folder with new tracks and I don't have time to choose only those tracks to a new playlist. The new tracks automated playlist is not a solution. I could have multiple folders with different tipes of traks.
3. Configurable stand by: For ex. I don't use Search function, Share online - theese two are using precious space from the display.
4. Better life time.

The UK has it already on generic sim free models.
If your phone is locked to a network or network branded then you will have to wait for them to approve the update.

Open letter to Nokia about the original N95!

Hi there, hope this message gets to the high-level employees of the company.
Why on earth would you people in R&D develop a full fledged computer, the flagship of Nokia Nseries phones, that can fit in the palm of your motherloving hand, and only include 64mb of memory.
I understand that maybe the N95 life cycle might be coming to an end (or has it ended?), and so you corrected the first mistake by releasing the same N95(8gb) but this time, someone in R&D must of had an epiphany and made the right choice to include 128mb of RAM.
But what about us, the good ol' N95 people? We have a crippled device.
People might argue that we are the poor early adopters a.k.a the losers. But I refuse to declare so, as it is not the case. The same phone the N95(8gb) was released 2 holy years later, with the exact same specifications and functionality! Except for the built-in 8gb (we have the sandisk micro 8gb), and slightly bigger battery, oh and the screen.
Just look around these forum, and other forums and see how much memory related problem everybody is having. Searching on google for this phrase: Memory Full close applications try again returns a lot of results related to the n95.
Now I know a multi-billion company's got to make a living, and handing out free upgrades doesn't hurt their pocket, but they won't do it because, let's face it, it didn't become a multi-billion company relying on charity work, so considering this and the whole rant above, I wish to say this:
Can Nokia give the option for N95 owners to send over their N95 and get a memory upgrade for a fee (cost of upgrade plus S/H). I repeat yes NOT free, but a fee. I am willing to pay a price to get it upgraded (if at all possible). As I'm not willing to pay for the new 8gb or maybe the n96, since they are pretty much all similar, except for the memory issue.
Yes, that is all I have to say. Please someone consider it, *if technically possible*. And if ever considered, please put a reasonable price tag on it (not to be touchy, but I'm also not paying the same price of the N95 just to get a memory module upgraded).
Thanks for listening. And hope we arrive at a solution that is favorable to both the customer and company (which never does happen, but a man can dream no?)
PS: And just to say, my brother has the N95 8gb, so I played with it profusely, so if anyone wants to say or (pardon the language) **bleep** how the new n95{8gb) is radically superior than the original n95, you fan boys can please do so, but do it on another thread.

That memory is for storage.
The memory he is referring to is the SDRAM that you need for running programs and multi-tasking.
The N95-1 has 64mb of SDRAM which was problematic on earlier firmware versions. This issue was addressed in the v20 firmware by introducing demand paging which freed up more ram and improved performance all round.
The N95-2(8GB) and the N82 have 128mb of SD RAM which makes these phones perform better than the N95-1.
