Hello cafe members,
While surfing the NetPro forums I got an idea for a new topic. See title.
To make one thing clear:
It is not my intension to get ratings here instead of on the regular forum.
Please do not rate any post in this thread.
When users choose not to rate, thats how it is. It happens to all of us.
The point is that I am seeing so many obviously correct answers remaining unrewarded that I thought it might be a good idea to post some of them here to at least have a good laugh about them, share your frustration or perhaps have an interesting discussion about why the invested time was not recognized.
It could also be used to track notorious non-raters.
This topic is posted here becasuse this corner tends to be avoided by the novices and especially the notorious USERS who only come to get their info and hardly bother to at least say Thnx.
I will post the first reply as an example of how I have imagined this. Have fun

Thanks for verifying our suspicions here my friend!
I know the "Facebook" area of the Forums is not your baby,
but maybe you could pass this along
This seems like a very flawed design. I reviewed 20 threads that were started
via Facebook and not a single one had any ratings given to the answers in
response to the OP. One poster was kind enough to at least say thanks but
obviously the mechanism to push them back to CSC and award any points
or mark the question as answered must be pretty cryptic...hahahahaha!
Why not push these users over to CSC to post their questions? I know
it's probably not as pretty as Facebook....but really, why would anyone even
try to answer these questions? I'm guessing that these users aren't registered as CSC
users so even if they made it back over to CSC they couldn't rate anyways??
I know it's not all about ratings, but the questions coming over via the Webuser/Facebook
interface never lead to any successful conclusion. They seem pretty pointless to me but
that's just my 2 cent$

I have just finished one of my best videos. I had a famous recording artist from canada send me a song to use in this video and now i need to send them an electronic copy of this video. What is the best way to share it. It is 11 min long and about 2 gig un compressed. DV footage. I want to send them a copy in the best possible quality.

Note that the X is a close button and that the new tab button is styled as a plus (+) sign.
You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar New Tab button.<br />
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.<br />
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.<br />

Macbooks are only supported if the're late 2008 Alu or early 2009 or later:
The OP may have an early 2008 Macbook. You have a Macbook Pro, which is different.

In the former Firefox version there was a box to click for converting YouTube music videos into HQ mp3 files. That box is no longer apparent in the new Firefox version. I went back to Ad-On s and re-downloaded the program YouTube to MP3 1.2. It says it's not compatible with Firefox 6.0. Can I reinstall the older version of Firefox?

When I clicked on the second site mentioned, I got such EXPLICIT, step-by-step directions!!! Thank you so much. I'd been wondering what that window was that kept popping up with the Firefox icon and that other funny thing. The word *install* was never mentioned. Pictographs were never my thing.
When I looked under the initial system requirements, it said that OS X 10.4.5 and higher were good for 5.0. I didn't check further. Under your advice, I'll go with the older version. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

So why is this query not using the index on the 'STATUS' Column?
I've already tried using optimizer hints and regathering the stats on the table, but the execution plan still remains the same, i.e. it still uses a FTS.
I have tried this command also:-

inspite of this, the query is still using a full table scan.
The table has around 55 Lakh records, across 60 columns. And because of the FTS, the query is taking a long time to execute. How do i make it use the index?

If the cardinality is really as skewed as that, you may want to look at putting a histogram on the column (sounds like it would be in order, and that you don't have one).

IDVD working till I installed 2TB ED. Keep getting message"There was an internal iDVD error during the last action. This is not a movie." Any help is appreciated.

iMovie message "There was an internal iDVD error during the last action. This is not a movie." comes up after trying to create a movie to burn to iDVD. Recently added a 2TB external drive to free up memory from HD. iDVD was working fine till the ED was added. Can't burn DVDs anymore. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

What folders did you move to the EHD? Any of the basic Home folders? What format is the EHD? It should be OS X Extended (journaled). Do you have any files that iDVD uses on the EHS, i.e. project files, media files?

The message read on the computer is Because the back up was corrupt or not compatible with iphone. Delete the back up for this iphone then try again.

Launch iTunes. Then from the menu bar at the top of your screen click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
Delete any iPhone backups.
Quit then relaunch iTunes. Connect the iPhone to your computer and try syncing.
