The blackberry protect service is temporarily unavailable

I changed the sim on my phone and ever since I have the blackberry protect highlighted on my phone.  It says I need to log back in in order for my phone to be protected however everytime I attempt to log in the message "The Blackberry ID service is temporarily unavailable".
This has been going on for weeks now and my phone is not protected! Is there any reason it says unavailable? what can I do?
I am currently using wifi as my phone does not have roaming

1) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.
2) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
3) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

    Ok, just a minute ago I was having the same problems and noone seemed to have the fix yet... So, I decided to call my carrier (T-mobile) and spoke with tech support. I specifically asked for a Blackberry Expert (believe me, the other tech support people I spoke with just kept telling me to turn my BB on and off and also made me do a complete wipe which did not fix it). What seemed to be the problem was that my blackberry was set on "voice only" on their Blackberry tool. She then changed it to "data and voice" and made me do another reset. Right after that, it fix all the internet problems I had been having with my Blackberry, I was able to log in to my Blackberry Protect and backup right away and I was also able to add an e-mail account to my blackberry phone.     EE has lied to you. Consider -- you PAY THEM for all of your services, which by contract makes them responsible for ALL of your formal service-related support. If they cannot figure it out, they have the ability (indeed, responsibility!) to escalate formally up to BlackBerry. As the link I provided you earlier states, end users have no free method to seek any support from BB whatsoever...the sole method to bypass your contractually required support channel (starting with EE) involves you paying a fee. That is the way formal support works, and all parties are contractually bound to it. Whoever you have talked to at EE is either telling you a lie, is uneducated as to how the process works, or there is more to the story than you have revealed. But your persistence with them will be the key -- don't let the first person fob you off, insist that they live up to the contract you have with them, and escalate to their management, You PAY THEM for all of your services and support...right now, it appears they are delivering neither to you.

  • Continuous "The Software Protection service has completed licensing status check" messages

    I have one client machine that gets these messages about 5 separate times when launching a Office 2010 application.
    Event ID: 1003 The Software Protection service has completed licensing status check.
    From what I've seen this relates to a KMS server activation. We do not use a KMS server, and have a valid MAK activation code that is used throughout the organization. It is valid and I've even used the Volume Activation Management Tool to reinstall the key
    to the computer and make sure it is activated. I've also done a repair of office and had no luck. Any ideas?

    Has anything been found out about this?  We're running into the same issue except that it's logging every 30 seconds.
    Here's some info from the machines and when it's occurring:
    It only occurs when someone is connected to the machine through Remote Desktop.
    The machines are Amazon EC2 instances.
    Seems to only happen on machines that are connecting to RODC's. 
    Machines have limited connection to RODC's through security groups (machine based firewalls).
    They are Windows Server 2012 instances, small and medium instance types.  (See instance type details here:  http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/instance-types/instance-details/)
    Little or no extra software installed.  These were spun up from a basic WS2012 image and it started occurring shortly after.  There are other machines launched from the same image that do not have this issue.
    There are also some other machines connecting to the same RODC's with the same security group (firewall) settings that are not experiencing this issue.

    Only backups which are displayed can be restored to your phone. If you don't see any older ones, something might have gone wrong with the backups being loaded to the site. Perhaps you have an older backup done with BlackBerry Desktop Software which you could reload?

  • Anybody miss out on the Upgrade Protection service?

    Did anybody miss out on the upgrade protection service when Apple introduced the 3. gen. mbp's?
    I managed to purchase my mbp just a few days before the upgrade but was not offered the newer model. I recieved a 2. gen. on the 29th of May and still got to pay the full listing price.
    When the upgrade happened, I'd already thrown bits of the original wrapping away. I could've returned the unit otherwise.
    Can I do anything to ease my strained Apple relationship? Or should I just bottled it up inside...

    so? I've got the box for my Gigabit G4. Funny thing - the new dual G4 was announced while my single 400 was in transit from MacMall. I was able to refuse delivery with no restocking fee (love MacMall!) and the gigabit arrived a day or two later.
    The "upgrade protection" is actually an OS thing, not hardware. Since the OS in the box takes a bit to catch up when the new OS ships it just guarantees you get the currently shipping OS if you've gotten old hardware inventory. I think at one time they even extended the window to anything purchased 30 days or so before release. But you never know what the policy might be at any given time.

    I have had a problem with Office Web Apps/SharePoint 2010 now for over a week. When trying to access PowerPoint Presentations I receive the error:
    I have looked through all of the Technet articles on this error and more, but still I have had no luck. The Excel and the Word viewer both work fine but this doesn't.
    I have checked that the Word, Excel and PowerPoint services are running on the Web Front End Server and also on the Application Server. They are all using the "SharePoint Web Services Default" application pool which has dbcreator access to the
    content database.
    I am receiving an error in the event logs:
    This error reads: "A word or PowerPoint front end failed to communicate with backend machine...." the url then seems to vary between the front end server and the application server.
    This exact same error is also appearing when checking in the ULS Logs. I have been working to repair this for days but I am out of ideas, all of the latest patches and CU's are installed on the servers.
    I would massively appreciate any help given with this.

    In addition, you could try reset account password which is used to set up service application via:
    Go to CA > security > configured managed accounts > modify > change the password now > use the current password > type password > OK.

  • Not connecting to the blackberry internet service

    hi, my blackberry has been working fine for weeks but for for the past week my internet service won't connect at all, in the top corner it just says GSM and ive tried everything i can think of, restarting the phone, turning the network on and off but nothing is working. it either says GSM or SOS. its supposed to say EDGE but its hasnt changed at all. what would any of you recommend? my network is tesco so if anyone knows a way to sort it out, please let me know - harry

    Under the mobile network options, do you see a box that says "network selection mode?"
    Can you change that to EDGE if possible?  If you can't change these, give your carrier a call

  • Mini SIM Activation service is temporarily unavailable

    Anyone have any idea how long this will be down for? I've managed to finally get hold of the final 2 digits of the 14 digit SIM serial number of the nano SIM for my new upgrade to find out the activation service is temporarily unavaialble. Can this be activated by calling 150 after multiple laborious keypad selection menus or must I use the online service? Cheers

    Yes, some others are having the same issue, I've seen 3-4 posts about it.
    What you need to do is to call your mobile network provider and ask them to escalate this issue to RIM level tech support. Explain the issue and tell them someone here in the forums ask you do to this.
