Can I connect my Apple TV to the Blu-Ray using an HDMI/ USB adapter?
If you can find such a thing.  I really doubt that exists since USB is a data connector not a video connector.
would allow me to run the audio through my stereo.
That would depend on this adapter.

  • Where is the Blu-Ray Option in Final Cut Pro 10.0.6?

I used to be able to burn Final Cut Pro timelines to Blu-Ray. I downloaded version 10.0.6 today and the Blu-Ray option is gone. Where did it go? Final Cut Pro X is of no use to me without the option to distribute on Blu-Ray. Burning to DVD which I still can do is not good enough.

It's still in here, just not in the fast menu.
File > Share > Add Destination or
    File > Preferences
You can add Blu-Ray to your quick destinations.

  • HT1539 Why do I only get the SD copy of a digital download when I bought the blu-ray HD film?

Just bought the 3D Blu-ray version of Prometheus and was pleased to see it came with a digital copy, however on redemption in the iTunes store it only downloads the SD version. Is this standard practice? Why don't they give you the HD version of the film if you buy the blu-ray HD version?!

When I put my redemption code in, I immediately got three downloads: HD 1080p, SD and iTunes Extras.
Is your device compatible with HD (because if not it will default to the SD version)?
If so, have you selected a preferred HD format in both the Playback and Store tabs in iTunes Preferences?
If you visit the Prometheus product page in the iTunes store, do you have the option to purchase a HD version? If there is, it should say "(Downloading [format])", where [format] is what you have selected in Preferences.
    See here for more information.
If your computer ticks all the boxes, I suggest sending Apple a support ticket.

Thanks.  I do not have the experience on burning discs from iMovie for the movie after editing (ie for video discs players).  It seems that i cannot find the relevant command in the tool bar for this purpsoe.  Would you please show me the way?
The command is gone because iDVD has been discontinued by Apple. After Apple discontinued iDVD they removed the iDVD burning link from iMovie. I still use iDVD sometimes, only because I have an old copy.

You have mentioned about Handbrake as a converter.  What is the RF no. Again, what is the best rate?  Furthermore, which format is more suitable or the best: H264 or mpeg 2/4?
I don't know what RF means. When I have used HandBrake, I've used presets that apply to what I want to do, so I don't know the meaning of each individual setting. However, it appears that many of them are listed in the HandBrake User's Guide that is linked from the Help menu in the program:

Photoshop is not amateur-level software, and although it can edit a video, it cannot burn a DVD. Unfortunately, because I still use iMovie, I haven't tried anything else. You might want to read the reviews of various DVD-burning applications in the Mac App Store.

  • Change the Blu-Ray burn speed from within PRE9

I burned a 2 hour video to Blu-Ray last night from within PRE9, and it all turned out well. Except it took maybe 5 or 6 hours to burn (its 6x speed disc).
Is this to be expected? I don't see any settings for burning speed from within PRE9.
I burned a 2 hour test Blu-Ray the other day from within the software that the Blu-Ray burner came with (where you can adjust the burn speed), and I could swear it was much faster. But I don't want to waste another disc just to test this out.
    Thanks
    Greg

Unfortunately, PrE does not allow one to alter the Burn Speed. The "big brother," Encore has that capability.
In PrE, I suggest doing a Burn to Folder, and then the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, which allows that adjustment. However, without extra software (virtual BD burner software), PrE does not allow BD Burn to Folder, at least not yet.
    Sorry for the bad news,

  • CS3 "Come for the blue-ray stay for the flash" crashing (MY SOLUTION)

    Hello everybody,
I had some serious trouble starting up Encore CS3 in WinXP. Seeing the "Come for the blue-ray stay for the flash" -message and then Encore CS3 closing up. As for someone else in the forums, starting Adobe Version Cue before trying to start Encore solved the problem.
Now a year later, I faced the same problem with Vista 64bit and with totally different hardware. For many people unplugging certain USB-drives or devices has solved the problem, but for me it didn´t help, neither in XP nor Vista. I remembered the solution from XP and started up Adobe Bridge CS3, then chose "Version Cue" -> "Start server". This action opens up a browser and asks for server information. I inserted nothing, tried to start Encore CS3 and it worked!
Hope my experiences will help some of you who are struggling with the same problem.

OMG, thanks so much for this solution... I have searched high and low for a solution, and I have also tried reinstalling countless times.  My only question is do you have to start that server every time you start up encore?  Also do you know what is causing this to happen that you need to start the server?

Hi , I bought Adobe Premiere Elements 13 while and when I using the software to create a Blue Ray disc, the final disc is not function at all after write. I have the same problem in Adobe Premiere Elements avuto 12. I try to use the software on the another computer and I have the same problem. Another problem is that the software writes up to 70% not 100% of the disk to create a Blue Ray Disc. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve these problems? How can notify the Adobe software on these issues? Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply.
    1. You say that you are using the Quality area with check mark next to "Fit contents to Available Space", but what are the readings there
for Space Required and Bitrate when you have your Blu-ray disc in the burner tray and you have Status = Ready in the burn dialog?
What capacity disc are you using - BD-R 25 GB or BD-RE DL 50 GB?
    2. I understand that you have Premiere Elements 7 and can create a Blu-ray disc format with disc menus on Blu-ray disc with it. Is 7 on the same computer as 13 and using the same burner and disc?
    Did I understand correctly
    a. You can create the Premiere Elements Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc WITHOUT menus and you have no problems with playback on your player, but you cannot do that if you include the disc menus?
If that is the case, what specific disc menu are you using? And, how many Timeline menu markers have you placed on the Timeline beforehand?
How many main menu pages and how many scene selection pages results as a result?
On the Blu-ray format on Blu-ray disc with disc menus that are failing, is the preference for Intel HD Graphics 2000 and Higher enabled or disabled?
If your Timeline content will be generating a Blu-ray ISO Image greater than 1 GB, there can be more problems. Please see

  • Encore CS4 is transcoding compliant Blu-Ray audio assets when set to 'Do not transcode'

    Hi there,
I have a Blu-Ray concert video project consisting of 3-menus, 4-sequentially linked timelines (intro-1, intro-2, main concert timeline, and credits).
All audio assets consist of 96k/24-bit WAV files from the same professionally rendered mastered audio source.
    Here's the issue:
When importing my 96k/24-bit audio assets in Encore CS4, they all show as Blu-Ray compliant and maintain the 'Do not transcode' property in the assets menu.
However, after rendering the project to Blu-Ray I immediately noticed that the main concert timeline (2-hrs 10-min) had been transcoded down to 48k/16-bit while the other smaller intro/credits timelines had rendered correctly and were playing back at the desired 96k.24-bit rate.
In order to eliminate possible issues with the main timeline's audio file source, I created a smaller main timeline (35-min) using the exact same audio source files and lo & behold - the main timeline was not down-transcoded and is playing back at the desired 96k/24-bit rate.
I'm wondering if there is a non-documented limitation in rendering audio files over a certain size as my main timeline is made up of 2-total WAV files of 2.2Gb each.
I have the ability to import a single AIFF file at 4.4GB for the main timeline - but for some reason CS4 does not recognize AIFF files as Blu-Ray compliant and will show the transcode setting as 'Automatic'.
Imported AIFF files always showed as 'Do not transcode' in the Blu-Ray assets menu in Encore CS3 (even though there is a documented bug which prevents rendering AIFF audio to Blu-Ray and I would have to convert to WAV files and re-import anyway in CS3).
My next step is to try splitting the main timeline into shorter chunks, but this is not the direction I want to go in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    -Cheers

Ok, solved my own problem - solution below for those with similar issues.
    1. My audio timelines exported from Final Cut Pro as AIFF are actually 'AIFC' which is technically not Blu-Ray compliant, thus Encore will need to transcode. Unfortunately - Encore has no quality preset settings for dealing with PCM audio transcodes higher than 48k/16-bit (why not?). Encore CS4 will happily pass 96k/24-bit through to a Blu-Ray build without transcoding if the supplied file is true AIFF (not-AIFC) and/or similarly compliant WAV files.
    2. My main Encore timeline consisted of 2-WAV files at 2.2Gb each placed in a single Encore timeline due to the total audio being over 4GB thus requiring me to split the source audio files in half in order to stay under the 4GB limit for WAV files, and also because I had to export the FCP audio timeline using Compressor in order to generate Blu-Ray compliant audio files (non-AIFC). Also - (possible bug?) if Encore has 2-separate audio files in the same timeline it will transcode the audio to the current project's default audio settings (48k/16-bit in my case) - even though the assets are showing as 'Do not transcode' in the asset menu for Blu-Ray. It clearly states in the Encore CS4 manual that imported WAV files at 96k/24-bit will not be transcoded - but it appears in this case when 2-audio files are placed in the same timeline that it will transcode with no warning - bothersome to say the least.
I suppose the alternative is to work with a lossless audio format which supports files larger than 4GB - which would only require a single audio file for a single Encore timeline, but other than DTS Master Audio (not available on this project) I'm not sure what audio format would work in Encore to support 96k/24-bit audio files larger than 4GB.
If anyone knows - drop some knowledge!
    -Cheers

  • Blu Ray cisc burning via new Easy Export in FCP 7

Would love to hear from anyone who has tried the new feature Easy Export in FCP 7 upgrade for Intel Macs, particularly the Blu Ray burning export from within FCP 7 to Blu Ray Disc. What is the quality (limits), H.264? and do we finally have actual Chapter Marker Options, and truely custom background / menu image options? I'm considering finally giving up on my PowerPC G4, and going with a new Intel based Mac, or wait a little longer if this upgrade is not worth it.
I'm currently burning Blu Rays with Toast 10 and a LaCie BD Drive with great results.

    Hi
Ive burnt a few discs now and very happy with the result- with an LG burner.
I posted some rough notes on Ken Stones forum with some screen shots.
    http://www.kenstone.net/discussions/read.php?3,14496,14496#msg-14496
About to go to bed (i'm in the UK) so I won't repeat it all here.
    Briefly:
    -Yes you can Import markers.
-You have more control over data rate/quality when exporting BD from compressor- although i have seen nothing wrong with the default.
-The background is slightly customisable, Some of the templets have an animated background (a prores-LTvideo file enclosed in the templet package)
I haven't tried this yet - but think it would be very easy to replace this with a file of your own design and so create your own animated looped background.
The templets are basic but might be better than what you have at the moment?

    thanks in advance

Thank you ram8kumar. I will answer step-by-step, as you did:
    - there is no subtitle in the project
    - .PSD file is not to large, 2 files 1920X1080 and only 2-3Mb, and they only used as menu (I did this a milion times before), there is no slideshow in the project
    - Disc name is not blank
    - there is no sledeshow (burning a slideshow with no pan and zoom or with no transition with H264 settings)
Lest two might be the problem.
    - I exported .h264 files from PPro CS5 with Matrox MXO2 Mini with MAX, Matrox preset and if I remember right target was 30Mb/sek
    - Audio and video  track duration in the timeline was 1(one) frame  difference.
Thank you agan, and I will post the results as soon as I will get done with it.

  • I have a digital copy blu ray and it says my code is not valid?

There is no alternatives to click and get it. I bought the blu ray a while ago but just got my mac and want it on the cloud. It is the dark knight DVD digital copy. Anyone have a similar issue and resolve it. I put the code in exactly like it is written in the case.

Thanks hatstead  - I'd rather not change my ID email as we vowed to stop having 10s of different emails and passwords, but keep just 2 or 3 - and (idiotically) they are all @ this domain.
But maybe I'll have to set up a gmail one for this. I'd rather not use personal as it's a company purchase.
Is there a way of just registering a product from within my Apple ID, online?
    Thanks!

  • Blue Ray disk created using premiere 10 does not show menus

I have a video project with a main menu and  5 scene menus. I burn the project (using premiere Elements 10) to a Blue-ray disc using preset H.264 1920x1080i PAL Dolby  with quality option set to "Fit Contents to available space" . The software happily creates the disc with 17.6GB of data (main stream, 00000.m2ts is 18,413,568 KB (17.5GB) and 6 small streams for main & scene menus.
However, when this disc is reinserted into the drive, it does not automatically start with the main menu.
If I burn the same project to a DVD with PAL_Widescreen_DolbyDVD preset with quality option set to "Fit Contents to available space", it creates the DVD which, when reinserted into the drive, starts automatically with the main menu.
The environment is Wndows 7  64bit with SONY BD RW BWU-500S ATA Device .
What do I need to do to get the Blue Ray disc to start with the main menu?

  • Instructions: Create Blu-Ray disc in Compressor with Final Cut TImeline

I searched mightily for simple instructions on how to do this. The Compressor help files are woefully inadequate in providing a simple walkthrough to do this. Burning a Blu-ray directly from Final Cut does not allow one to optimize the conversion like compressor does. So:
    1) Right click your chosen sequence in Final Cut
    2) Click "Share" The Share dialog box will come up.
    3) Choose "Blu-Ray" in the destination drop down in the top-left corner of the Share window (don't forget to choose the destination location of the files at the top of the dialog)
    4) Click "Send to Compressor" in the bottom-left corner
Compressor will open and a job will automatically be created with Blu-ray video
and Dolby ac3 audio. Set options and submit as usual in Compressor

The send to compressor option occasionally creates problems. Most people would recommend exporting as a self-contained movie, then bringing that into compressor and using your workflow from there.
