The bottom half of my screen is white. Disabling Add-ons does nothing.

disabling add-ons does nothing to help as another question's answers suggested. i would say i am savvy .. but this has me at a loss. (Not my computer so history of this device is questionable)

I have never seen DEVELOP on the menu bar for Safari, hence my query regarding testing.
What OS are you using and what version of Safari?
If you want to check your HDD, Open Disk Utilities>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
The only remedy that I can think of that may work is an OS reinstall.
I seriously doubt that your MBP is being hacked.

When I start Firefox, the name goes to the bar at the bottom, but I can't open it. Clicking it does nothing, I am still left with my desktop. So temporarily, I have to access the internet using IE, which I don't prefer. How do I get round this?

I used FF for some time, then I looked up a page in Turkish (not my language), and the page appeared in a small format, and I couldn't open it. Even when I right-clicked the FF icon, I couldn't close it, so I turned the computer off, and restarted, but I still can't open any page with FF because I can't get the full page. I am using an Acer Desktop tower with Vista - I am bilingual German/English. I have tried starting the computer in a different modus, FF starts then, but when I use the usual modus, it won't start - I use ESET NOD32 AV and Ad-Aware, and both haven't found a problem - I am now running Malwarebytes, and so far it hasn't found anything

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

Since you say you cannot unlock, have you tried a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if it appears. if that does not help, a visit to an Apple store genius bar is in order.

I had the same problem. The bottom half of my screen was illuminated, but blank. When I turned the nano on, a hazy barcode looking image (hence my screen name) appeared in the bottom half of the screen. Then it turned blank. Everything else worked.
Only yesterday, I took my nano to Apple's store in Soho (that's downtown Manhattan) and exchanged it for a new one. No argument. No discussion of a warranty. Just polite, friendly service. A word of advice. Apple's "Geniuses', as they are styled, require "appointments". You can sign up online at home. When you arrive, you must sign in and wait to be called. I didn't have an appointment, so I made one. Fortunately, it was for only one hour later. I appeared at the appointed time, had to wait around 30 to 40 minutes, and then received friendly, professional service. The brand new nano was exchanged for my old one, right then and there.
Another word of advice: Refer to the problem as a "screen anomaly". I read a message from another poster who telephoned Apple tech support and spoke with several tech reps. They referred to the problem as a screen anomaly. It may help. Good luck.

Try the follwing to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Does your email site have a print button to format the page for printing? That often gives the best results.
If this just started with Firefox 4, it could be related to a change in how strict Firefox is about a page's HTML code. To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then return to your mail site, reload the page, and test again. (Print Preview might be sufficient for testing.)
Does that make any difference? If so, the site might not yet be fully compatible with Firefox 4 -- or you have found a bug in Firefox.

Why did my Firefox window minimise to half size, with the bottom half of the screen showing the window underneath the Firefox one?

Today the bottom half of my Firefox browser window just drew up to the halfway point on my screen, and will not maximise again. I tried taking Windows back to a point 2 days ago, but the problem remains.

Bottom half of nano screen doesn't display

I've had my ipod for about a year and have had no problems. I keep it clean and protected and use it almost every week. But the last month i've been unable to access my laptop and thus couldn't charge my ipod. So i turned on my ipod after a month and i find a problem..
The top half of the screen works.. no problem.
But the bottom half? It lights up and turns white and there's a slightly tan bar too. Sometimes words kind of blur into the botom half if i scroll really fast. This is really odd, because that means the bottom half of the screen isn't broken, but looks as if it's frozen.
So, what can I do?

Hard to say if shuffel or not, but first try to restore it using the five r's :http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
If that does not work, consider sending it in for service at a third party place. Do a search for ipod repair and you will find several. Some will diagnose your problem for the cost of shipping and then tell you how much it costs to repair.
It does not sound like the screen is broken, but you never know. If that turns out to be true, it is not that hard to change it yourself and for under 15 dollars U.S. Do a search on ebay, they come with instructions and the tools you need to take your nano apart. You will then need a philips jewelers screwdriver and you will be all set, or have a third party repair facality do the job for you. One way or another you will have a nano back again.

Touchs creen on the bottom half not working

i have a strange probglem on my phone and the bottom half of the screen wont work and the top half will, i cant answer any phone calls i cant open the ipod or anything on the bottom i wish i had put them on the top rows now and the top rows will move about so i can turn it off but the moment i lock my phone the only way i can access it again is if it tiurn it off and on again, thank god the turn off thing is on the top lol, its a stupid problem to have but has anyone ever had somehing like this? could it be solved with a restore? this would be a great time for the springboard to be able to switch sides. maybe 3.0 will fix it?

i will try a restore, im trying to avoid this because i have app store apps i dont have saved in itunes after i had to format.. but if it makes my iphone work its definatly worth trying.
i think its still under worranty if the restore does not work putting to dfu mode and restore, ill take to store see if they can replace it. but hopefully by then ill be able to buy a new iphone maybe get the 16gb..

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.
