  • On the toolbar at the bottom of my laptop I can not access the volume so I can turn up the speaker!

On the toolbar at the bottom of my laptop there was a "speaker" icon to control the volume.  It has disappeared and I can not get it back.   Using it a lot to buy music for my Ipod and did not do anything to make this happen.

    ...removed my applications folder.
    From where? And to where?
If you trashed it and emptied the trash, what backup, if any, do you have? If it's still in the Trash, move it back.
If no backup, reinstall Snow, which will give you the version as of the DVD you use, then update back to 10.6.8, and run all other needed updates, including any security updates. This should save all your third party programs, as well as settings.
The white puff of smoke is nothing, it only means you moved it out of the Dock. If you still have it, or had it, as soon as you open it it would reappear in the Dock. The item in the Dock is only a kind of alias.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand that you are having an issue with your sound, and wanted to help! To start, can you provide me with the Product Number of your notebook?  Here is a link you can use that will help you find your Model and Product Number: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Also, did you have the issue before upgrading to Windows 10?  You can try using the HP Support Assistant to get the drivers you may need to resolve the issue for you.  You can also try a Hard Reset.  If that doesnt help, and this issue started after the upgrade, then you may consider using the Go back to an earlier build option, in your System Settings:HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10
Once you are back to your original Operating System, check to see if you are experiencing the same issue. If not, then you may consider holding off on the Windows 10 update for a few weeks, until drivers can be updated.

slideshow widget works in the live view but doesnt in actual browser. help!!!!

By "doesn't work in actual browsers" do you mean while using Preview in Browser, or have you uploaded the page and it's not working?
If it's not working after being uploaded, make sure all of the supporting files have been uploaded (.js and .css) as well.
If it's not working in PIB, is it with all browsers, or just certian ones?
Can you post a link to the malfunctioning page?

  • The bottom part of my Macbook is melting.

I know Apple has a Macbook Bottom Case Replacement Program, But I live in the Philippines and I saw they only ship the case to a few countries...
    Can sombody help me???
And one more thing. My macbook is on ver. 10.6.8, It won't update properly.
1st you're gonna think it's all good, then once it's half way to finishing the update it's gonna stop saying it has an error. This happened multiple times already

    Hello, A.j. De Castro.
Apple has determined that under certain circumstances the rubber surface on some MacBooks may separate from the bottom case of the system. MacBooks shipped between October 2009 and April 2011 may experience this issue.
Apple will replace the bottom case of any affected MacBook, free of charge, that exhibits the issue.  As you mentioned that you are in the Philippines, the best avenue for service would be to visit one of our Apple Retail Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers.  You will be able to locate a provider in the link below.

  • The bottom of my laptop gets too hot. the case come off

i have to take to apple store if my my edge of the cover is coming off? because of heat in hot weather. i did not realize? one of my screw came off. i can't find it. it become loose!!!

i will explain better. my case bottom become loosely because one of the screws became loosely. so i usually make it tighter all the time with my screwdriver. it happened since last year. now it become more loosely, and i didn't realize the screw came off and i couldn't find it because it was so tight. then the cover on the edge on the bottom on left become loosely a little. only the cover, not the case (aluminum). i don't know how it happened.

  • I'm running Adobe 9 pro on snow leopard and when I save or print from word for mac 14 the bottom gets cuts off

I'm running Adobe 9 pro on snow leopard and when I save or print from word for mac 14 the bottom gets cuts off. Can someone help?

Ah! You're creating a PDF out of Word through Acrobat. The cutoff is most likely being affected by the printer chosen.
When you call up the print dialogue in Word, check to see what printer is being used. If it's a typical inkjet printer, Acrobat is using the print margins of that printer as the cutoff area. Since most such printers can't print to the last inch and half or so of the paper, that's where it would be cut off.
Near the bottom, under the preview of the document, click on the Page Setup button. It doesn't really matter which printer you select here. Under Paper Size, choose Manage Custom Sizes. Under the Non-Printable Area heading, choose the same printer and set the paper size you're using.
Note that the unprintable margins for that printer will be filled in automatically. That's what's being cut off. Click the + button to create a modified version. The default will be "Untitled". Give it a new name if you want. Then set all of the margins to zero. Click OK. Now you'll have that as a choice under Paper Size. Doesn't matter that the actual printer can't use this setting since you're going to a PDF. Click OK to get back to the main Word print dialogue.
Now choose Save as Adobe PDF. It should give you an exact duplicate of what's on screen in Word since as far as Acrobat is concerned, your "printer" has no unprintable margins.

  • Clicks on certain links near the bottom are ignored because of floating status indicator

When I try to click on certain links near the bottom of a web page--actually, a customized Bugzilla web page--Firefox 4 does not respond. If I wiggle the mouse enough to make that floating URL "tooltip" (which displays the URL corresponding to the link over which the mouse is hovering) move to the other side of the window and then click on the link, all's well. It's as though that floating URL tooltip is blocking the mouse click.

The add-ons bar is already visible. Bringing up the Menu Bar temporarily does not change the behavior.
Neither of those are the tooltip I was referring to. I'm attaching a screen grab which shows my mouse hovering over the link I want to click, and the URL tooltip directly below. If I wiggle enough to make that tooltip move to the other side of the window, I can click on the link. Otherwise, my click is ignored.

  • Water damage on the bottom of the laptop - x201

Total TMI, but I got the stomach flu last night and ended up throwing up on the bottom (as in the part that sits on your lap or the desk) of my x201 laptop. I immediately turned my laptop over, hoping nothing had gotten inside yet, and that whatever did would drain back out.
I've waited about 30 hours. My laptop will not turn on, even with the chord plugged in. However, the little green light by my fingerprint reader is still on.
Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Umm., I guess that is a sort of water damage. I hope that you fare well with the flu anyway.
Turning over your Thinkpad was good. The other thing that you should have done immediately is remove power - the battery and power cord. If anything got inside the computer, it won't be enough to let it dry. It needs to be cleaned as the dried solids will inevitably cause electrical shorts. Which appears to be the case if your laptop won't boot now.
The inside of your laptop needs to be cleaned. If you are out of warranty and a do it yourselfer, what needs to be done is to disassemble your laptop and clean it with a flux remover or perhaps a denatured alcohol and gentle scrubbing with a mild brush. Then let it thoroughly dry before applying power. If any part of that seems daunting or you are in warranty, then off to the service guys.
The good news is that you will likely recover 100% from this if the power was removed without too much delay. Laptops and phones (other than the display) are actually fairly robust in surviving water exposure.
