For a second generation iPod, 4.2.1 is the latest possible version.

The Wi-Fi on my iPod Touch 4G is not working. People were working on my wi-fi, and, since it showed three bars still, I thought it was working. So when I found out it wasn't working, I tried to fix it by myself by forgetting the wi-fi network. Now, when I try to log in, it says that my password is incorrect (even though I know it is right). I think it is not working because I forgot the wi-fi network while they were working on it. If you answered using the wrong phone, then anyone calling the other number will not get through. Anyway to solve this problem?

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your devices are set up to use continuity together. Specifically, it sounds like you are signed into the same Apple ID in FaceTime, and have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled. To resolve your issue, simply disable this setting:

I got my screen fixed and the day i got my ipod touch 4th gen back the wifi doesnt work unless i hold it right up to my router. Roughly every foot I move back it loses a bar and if i leave the room it doesn't even have a signal completely.

Also if it helps I switched internet providers and during the time when my ipod was being fixed a new router was installed and it doesnt seem to work unless directly infront of my ipod.

Take it back to where you had the screen replaced. They messed up the connection to the wifi antenna

Syning with iTunes is completely separate from iCloud, except that if you have elected to sync calendars and contacts with iCloud you cannot sync them with iTunes.
