The buffer manage or stream scheduling in darwin stream server?

In my live stream media application, i want to use our own h.264 encoder to encode the stream from DV. I don't know how to streaming it throngh DSS, because the encoded video is the raw 264 data. but DSS only support quicktime file format,e.g., the suffix is .mov or .mp4. my problem is:
how to transport the raw 264 file via DSS? or I should make a quicktime file?
thanks

DSS does not ONLY support quicktime encoded files. MP4 is an open source media container that just happens to be based on the quicktime media container. What is the container media type for the encoded video? Whatever container you use has to be hinted. I use MPEG4ip and it's mp4creator tool. There is also another tool called MP4box. Otherwise your encoder may support hinting. What encoder are you using?

  • SQL Error Data Flow Task 1: The buffer manager detected that the system was low on virtual memory...

I'm relatively new to SQL and this is the error that appeared when I tried importing my data. Not sure how to deal with this. Help please. Thanks a lot!
Information 0x4004800c: Data Flow Task 1: The buffer manager detected that the system was low on virtual memory, but was unable to swap out any buffers. 14 buffers were considered and 14 were locked. Either not enough memory is available to the pipeline
because not enough is installed, other processes are using it, or too many buffers are locked.

Either reduce the amount of data e.g. by lowering the Data Flow Task records max per batch and buffer size
or install more RAM, or process on a more capable computer.

  • The buffer manager failed a memory allocation call for 10485760 bytes

I have a for each loop container which executes for each row in the recordset destination.
In the for each loop container i have a dataflow task where in source is a oracle server and it performs two ookups before inserting the data into the destination.
There are around 270k records coming from source...that means and around when 38k records are inserted in the destination the packages stops its execution and it says "The buffer manager failed a memory allocation call for 10485760 bytes".
Can anyone help me in fixing this issue??
    TIA

    Hi Abhinav530,
According to your description, when you execute the SSIS package, you got the error message: "The buffer manager failed a memory allocation call for 10485760 bytes".
According to the error message, the machine has run out of physical memory (i.e. RAM) and is unable to swap out to hard disk. To troubleshoot the problem, please pay attention to these points:
Add more physical memory to the computer.
If you are running the SSIS  package on a computer that is running an instance of SQL Server, when you run the package, set the Maximum server memory option for the SQL Server instance to a smaller value. This behavior increases available memory.
Exit applications that consume lots of memory when you run the SSIS package that contains dataflow tasks.
Run the SSIS package and the dataflow tasks in series instead of in parallel to decrease memory usage.
For more information about Data Flow Performance Features, please refer to the following document:

  • Configuration Manager Client Retry Scheduled Task not removed

I have had several clients where the “Configuration Manager Client Retry” scheduled task is not removed after a successful install. The task will run daily and reinstall the client
over and over until someone notices and we delete the task. So far I have only seen this happen on R2 clients (5.00.7958.1000). Has anyone ever run into this before? Thanks!

    Hi,
Has this client installed successfully during the reinstall process?(ccmsetup.log and Client.msi.log)
Please check ccrretry.box in Program Files->Microsoft Configuration Manager->inboxes and Ccm.log on the site server to get more information. SCCM might cannot detect the SMS Agent Host is running.

  • How do I install Quicktime Streaming Server?

How do I install Quicktime Streaming Server?
    Thanks
    Mac mini G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The Apple-supported QuickTime Streaming Server only comes with Mac OS X Server. What you need it QTSS's open-source twin Darwin Streaming Server. Download that, open the disk image, and just double-click on the package file to install.

  • JMF and the Darwin Streaming Server

Has anyone been successful in getting the JMF JMStudio to work with
the Darwin Streaming Server? I have set up Darwin on my computer and
encoded a sample .mov file using a codec that is supposed to be
compatible with JMF, the H.263. I was able to view this file inside
JMStudio if I opened it directly as a file. I was also able to stream
this file via the server using the Quicktime movie player by opening
    URL to rtsp://localhost/test.mov
However, when I go into JMStudio's Open URL, and put in
rtsp://localhost/test.mov, I get an error message saying:
    Controller Error:
Failed to realize: Server is not responding.
I am using JMF Version 2.1.1e and the Apple Darwin Streaming Server
    5.0
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Also, let me know
if there is another streaming server, preferably open source, that
    works well with JMF.
    thanks.

your doing local host, JMF needs to receive rtp on
port XXXX, now if you are receivng on port XXXX the
server maybe trying to send on the same port , or
maybe it's trying to send the RTCP data.
Does darwin use RTCP ?? and also I would try from
second computer , as JMF sends, receives on same port.I am pretty sure all the ports are set up correctly. I have tried connecting from another computer and run into the same issues. Also, I was able to view the movie just fine from the same computer (connecting to itself) using the Quicktime Java package provided by Apple. I've been able to view movies in quicktime using the RTSP protocol

  • Will increasing the buffer size make flash streaming video stop stalling?

I have surmised all this on my own so it could be just a fantasy, but:
I am often the victim of slow internet connections. This means that when I try and watch streaming video it constantly pauses. It's my understanding that increasing the buffer size of flash would help prevent this but I can't figure out how to do that.
    Thanks

You can pause the video just long enough for the player to load enough content. Most Flash player show a loading bar if you hover the player. For short pieces you can load the entire content before starting the play.

  • Suggestion - media manager to stream video out to the internet

I have heard and seen posting about upcoming beta where one would be able to use media manager to stream video from their PC to the STB in their houses. Cool, needed but sort of expected ....
what I am really interested is to actually be able to view the content of my DVR when I am remote from home. I would like with a browser to connect home and be able to view the show I missed.
Now that will be cool .... (its kind of Slinbox service)

It'll happen, I'm sure. Eventually, we'll be able to even watch Video On Demand on Verizon Wireless cell phones, and when we get home we can seamlessly transfer the streaming video from the phone to the STB/TV thanks to the Verizon One.

  • Emptying the buffer of a receiver of a live stream

    Hi,
In my application, a publisher starts a live video and a receiver could recieve it through FMS rtmp. The problem:
    1) Once the receiver faces latency, due to slow connection, the latency keeps on increasing from 1 second to 10s, 20s and above. What i feel here is that the reciever's buffer starts accumulating video data and keeps on accumulating it and never flushes it.I am unable to find a property in netStream and Application.xml to empty the buffer of a poor connection reciever.
How can i fix this issue, so that a slow connection receiver's latency remains constant around 2 - 3 seconds. Please help.
    Regards,
    Sahil.

    Hi Nitin,
    1) Fms version is 3.5.7.
    2) I dont have issues with Audio, Its video that raises latency on slow connections of video receivers. To solve this issue i set the publisher's video quality according to receiver's bandwidth. This helps BUT does not solve the problem.
    Example:
Publisher is broadcasting video at 800 kbps. The reciver of this stream has a lower bandwidth of 512 kbps, this difference (800 - 512 = 288 kbps) at receiver produces latency. The extra bit of data ie the 288 kbps is somewhere buffered by the recieiver in its stream and this keeps on accumulating on and on. Thus latency never drops or reduces.
This is why i wish to clear/empty/drop the extra receiver stream data.
    Thanks,
    Sahil.

  • What is unique about online streaming of pbs video that causes it to stop to load the buffer every 40 seconds

What is unique about PBS videos that results in the play stopping every 40 seconds to refill the buffer (ie the round circle appears)
I have no trouble viewing hulu movies or ytube videos.  Is there a way of correcting this problem ?
I have a ATT DSL with download  speed of 768kb.

Could be a number of things, but the most obvious guess would be that PBS has relatively narrow bandwidth. The people in Congress who think that Masterpiece Theater is intellectual sedition and Sesame Street is a communist plot to indoctrinate our children have been strangling PBS's cash flow since sometime the early '80s.
Unfortunately, the aesthete voting block doesn't have a particularly big political voice in the US (as though it has a big political voice anywhere).  We'll just have to continue trading our carefully hoarded recordings of 'good' television programs in secret.

  • How do I know when the buffer flushed all the data out?

I am using a very high sampling rate (500000 Hz) and acquire 1024 data points continuously.   It takes 370000 data points in 10 second.   I use a counter to help with the retrigger PFI line.   I have a huge buffer so that I can make sure that the buffer is not overflowed.  The code is attached below.  My problem is that the data acquisition is done so fast (in 10 seconds)  but the processing of the data is not.  In :nEvent, I basically save and plot the data.  The saving process is not slow.   However, our videocard is so SSSSLOOOW and can not keep up with realtime data display.    After the user is done collecting the data, they do not want to wait for the screen to plot the data from the buffer.   So after the data collection is done, I basically stop the plotting process but we still need to flush the data out from the buffer for saving.  My question is that how can I tell when the buffer is empty.

finite, or continuous? I'm also unclear about your rates. You state
that you are acquiring 1024 samples at 500kHz, yet you get only 370k
samples in 10 seconds. Are you periodically acquiring 1024 samples at
500kHz?  Do you do any reads other than the final m_reader->ReadMultiSampleAsync(samplesPerChannel, m_data)? Could you provide the code where you stop the plotting process?
