The Butten dose not work

the Butten  on my Ipad  (1) has stopped working ! Please help !

If you think that there is a sticky substance preventing it from working properly, take a slightly damp microfiber cloth and carefully clean around the button. If you don't have a microfiber cloth use a soft lint free cloth of some type and dampen it slightly and try to clean the area around the button. Do not use too much moisture. You can even try breathing on the button just to create a little bit of moisture and wipe it carefully with a soft cloth.
If you think the button is sticking and that it isn't working properly try this if you can. Double tap the home button to bring up the task bar with your recent apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on one of the icons in the task bar until they all begin to wiggle. Then tap the red minus signs in the upper left corner of all of the app icons to close the apps. Tap the screen above the task bar to go back to the home screen. Restart the iPad. hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to the right to shut the iPad off. Hold the sleep button again until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on. See how the button works after you do this.
