The button "generate PDF" is grayed
hello,
I work with Robohelp for Word, version 9.
I can't generate PDF because the button is grayed :
I try to re-install Robohelp for word, result is the same, I desinstall PDFCreator, the same. In word, the options "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" and "Robohelp word COM addin" are checked
I have Adobe reader version 10.1.4
I have no more idea ...
Someone to give me the solution ?

Hi Marie,
I guess there is some issue with the installation, as you already re-installed the Acrobat and Robohelp for word and problem still persist. For testing, please launch Robohelp HTML and create a blank project and see if you can see the PDF generation option grayed out or highted, if not then you need to completely uninstall Robohelp 9 and reinstall it once again and need to make sure that Acrobat Add should be checked.

We are developing , an application based on HCM Process and Forms - with ( FPM forms ).
One of the requirements in the application is to get the form in - PDF format and to achieve this we have followed the steps below.
- Created the configuartion steps as mentioned in SAP Help Link - Print Form ( FPM Form Type Only ).
- Created a PDF form layout and provided in the other attribute of Form Scenario - Print Form ( FPM Form type Only) - Activated the same
- The form interface is also mapped and active
With the above configuration done , while executing the form we can get the - 'Generate PDF' button enabled in form utilities , but the button does not respond.The 'Generate PDF' button does not work.
We could achive to get the PDF OUTPUT programatically using 'cl_hrasr00_pdf_generation=>generate_pdf' , but the same is not appearing when the button 'Generate PDF' is clicked.
Request you inputs , on how to get the 'Generate PDF' button working , is there any additional configuration required? Or are we missing any thing in this?

Issue with emailing dynamically generated PDF (InteractiveForm UI element)
Hi Experts ,
I have a requirement according to which i need to generate PDF dynamically using webdynpro java and email the dynamically generated PDF.
I am facing issue while emailing the dynamically genarated pdf.
It gives me an exception :
nested exception is: javax.mail.MessagingException: IOException while sending message; nested exception is: java.io.IOException: no data
This is because its unable to get the binary data (byte array) of the dynamically generated PDF which is required to send mail.
Could some one suggest me how to fetch the binary data of the dynamically generated PDF.
For dynamic PDF generation i am using dynamic generation of UI element InteractiveForm UI Element
In case of static PDF (i.e. the PDF genarated by inserting the InteractiveFrom Ui element on the view using the insert child option) we do set the pdf source property of Interactive Form UI element to a context variable attribute of type binary but my problem is ,how to set the PDF source of a dynamically generated Interactive form UI element to a context variable attribute of type binary ..
Any help would be highly appreciated.

the code to generate PDF dynamically is written in the WdDoModifyView section of the view as the PDF need to be generated dynamically., i.e. by adding InteractiveForm UI elements at runtime.
I tried the code suggested by you but i gave mean exception.

Reduce smartform generated PDF size
Hi,
How to reduce the smartform generated PDF size. I have tried removing few tables,windows, logo(size 10KB) etc.. but the size didnt vary much. I am using new Font 'CorpoS' in my smartstyle and using PT language (has special characters).
Current size of my PDF is 286KB and i want it to be 20-50KB.
Please give me valuable suggestions on how to reduce the size.

Retaining labels on JPanel as text while generating PDF
Hi,
Our application is having a JLayeredPane on which user can create multiple components, draw arrows,text,etc. In short it is like bitmap. On this JLayeredPane, we can create tables and have some data into it. When the user generates PDF this data must get copied, to excel sheet or notepad for further analysis. Now the problem is that whenever we try to generate PDF with the image of panel as I am able to get BufferedImage of the entire JLayeredPanel, we are not able to fetch data from tables as this is the image getting inserted into PDF. So can any one suggest me about how to proceed?

The first version for which the Template Builder was released is 5.0
Well, I guess I am one of the few who has a backported 4.5 version of the template builder. I did that for testing exactly your case. I just replaced our xdocore.jar file with the 4.5 version and it worked. The core.jar is not easily available. The files are part of the 4.5 patch, but I think it is too much work to get them out.
However, I would strongly recommend to upgrade to a later version of XML Publisher. We made huge improvements, since 4.5 - performance, translation, RTF template capabilities....
I just checked the process of converting an RTF template to FO and uploading it to EBS with 5.6.2 and it still worked. So it seems you can go straight to the latest version.

Really looking for some help with this random problem I have with Indesign.
I'm running Adobe Indesign CS3 on Mac Lion. I've been working on a 84 page magazine all day. I have been exporting random pages and other files from indesign to pdf for proofs to clients etc.
We go to print on Monday and the magazine is ready to go. I went to File > Export then selected Adobe PDF. Just doing a low res export at the moment to go through proofing everything.
Press ok. The window "Generating PDF" appears. Exporting page 1 is at the top. Then the bottom bar "Downloading Image" moves across the bottom. Once the bar has finished the Generating PDF box disappears!
I've tried it with the same file on my MacBook and now on my iMac, but it just will not export to PDF.
I've tried exporting other inDesign documents and they export to PDF perfectly fine.
Does anyone know what may be the reason why I am unable to export from the inDesign document?

Well, I don't know, but I can guess:
I'm running Adobe Indesign CS3 on Mac Lion.
Running an app released in 2007 on an OS released in 2011, that's my guess. Are both your MacBook and your iMac running Lion? Is there any non-Lion machine with CS3 installed that you can try?
Mind you, this is just a guess - it could be something wrong with the document itself, the install of InDesign, et cetera. But Mac OS changes a fair bit from release to release, so it's not always easy or possible to run old software on new operating systems. Still, it may be not be incompatibility, but something else; try exporting just the first page to PDF (or just any one page, it needn't be the first) to see if you can export PDF at all. -
CS3: How to generate PDF from multiple HTML files using CSS?
I have a set of static HTML files. They are nicely formatted using a single style sheet. They interlink. I would like a way to generate a single PDF file from that set of HTML files that preserves the links (of course, they would all link within the single generated PDF because they would not longer be separate files as a PDF). I would also like to preserve the formatting from the CSS so it doesn't look generic. I own CS3 but don't know which tool to use for this, if any. Which tool would I use for this?

Gray box for logo generating pdf from fm book

I have a large FrameMaker book that I've generated pdfs from a million times. We cleaned up our logo, so I dropped it in and tried to generate the usual pdf. a gray box resulted for the logo only. all other artwork displayed fine. i tried scaling down the logo, changing formats, changing import methods, etc. all failed. however, generating a pdf from the book if I remove a few chapters gives me my logo. Am I running out of resources? I'm using tech comm suite 1.3 on vista. There are no clues in the acrobat log. show large images is turned on in the adobe reader.
I used the obvious workaround: generated two pdfs, one with just the logo page and one with the rest of the book, then combined them. But this process is not practical long term. Any clues?A couple questions:
What format is the new logo file?
Given that it works with some component files, but not in the book... I'd guess that it may be a resource issue. How much RAM and free space do you have?
And when you "dropped it in," does that mean imported into one file by reference, or copied in, or imported into a template that you used to update all files in the book..... or something else? And if it did update multiple files, did you double-check them to make sure the path to the graphic is correct? -
When I sign in to the Adobe Reader XI (which is the only option that I have to open a pdf document, I will sign in to the Adobe ID sign-in page. After I do this, the "Convert To" box goes "gray" and I am unable to convert the document I have selected. It was working great for the first week that I used it, but now it doesn't give me the converting option. I am very frustrated as I have done nothing to change anything, and I was thinking this was so great...now I am just pulling out my hair and do not have the option of calling anyone since no phone numbers are listed. I am VERY busy and do not have time to sit and wait over a half an hour to "chat", which I tried to do yesterday. All I want to do is very simply, convert pdfs to Word. I have paid for this and am not getting any help. I am not very savvy when it comes to Adobe this program and Adobe that program...I feel I am being scammed as I do not get simple answers for something that appeared was going to be simple. You can't even call customer service to talk to someone live to help walk you through.

Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.

I am trying to fill in a PDF form online- there should be a submit button but it isn't showing. My partner has an identical Mac and can see the button when he opens the same page- what do I change in my systen system preferences to resolve this?
You and your partner might have different browsers, different versions of the same browser, or most likely a fervent version of the PDF plug-in.
See if just clicking on the Enter key sends the form in. -
This problem started immediately after I upgraded to Firefox 9.0.1
If I open my inbox in my New Yahoo Mail, then open an email with attachments and then open the attachments to "view as a slide show"....I can't close the slide show and return to the email by clicking on the "return to Yahoo" button. If you click on it, it returns to the first pic shown, and if you click on it again, the pics disappear and a gray haze appears over most of the screen but none of the features under the gray screen work. I have found that if I hit the back page and then forward page buttons, I can get back to my inbox eventually, but this is a terrible "pain in the ass"!Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

The issues i'm facing are:
When it is reading a row from MS-Excel it is writing to the .pdf file from last cell to first cell.( 2 cell in 1 place, 1 cell in 2 place like if the row has two cells with data as : Name of the Intern: Kesavulu Reddy then it is writing to the .pdf file as Kesavulu Reddy Name of Intern)
and the second issue is:
It is not recognizing the date format..it is recognizing the date in first row only......
Plz Tell me wht is the solution for this...

While generating reports in Oracle BI Publisher in pdf format, the generated pdf reports have hindi इ matra displaced by one character. For example, रिपोर्ट is printed as रपेिोरट. Word file generated of the same report have correct hindi इ matra position and also pdf generated from this word file also contains the same.

Everything works fine except the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT part. In some clients, this command does what it required from it and opens a new browser window with the PDF report displayed on it. In some other clients, this command does nothing: now window dispalyed. When I refer to the Application Server, I see the PDF report successfully generated there. When I put the URL of the generated report manually in the browser address, I can see the report.

Also firefox and ie handle it differently. Make sure you test on what your clients use.
Sometimes acrotray.exe is completely retarded and doesn't work.
